Staff are always familiarized with regulars and are always very encouraging and friendly! It's super amazing how they give people living with intellectual disabilities jobs helping around and I've even seen them give free personal training sessions to them as well There's only 2 cons to this gym: 1. It isn't open 24 hours because of it's located near the rough part of North London. 2. Cellular coverage sucks because it's underground and the wifi doesn't work Personal Training at GoodLife costs a bit more, but overall it is a much better experience than an average trainer. They are much better and qualified at their jobs than average trainers. My personal trainer Matt is quick to point out mistakes in my form more than other trainers so your reps are most affective. They are also extremely responsive to text. Another example of how training at GoodLife is better is when Vik was training he helped point out a hinge in my squat and when I temporarily trained with Ryan when he worked there, he noticed I had knee discomfort and helped adjust my program with targeting knee exercises to help build up strength and reduce discomfort with leg exercises. In my experience, Everything is very sanitary and organized, including the bathrooms and equipment. The only spot I saw that wasn't sanitary was the gunk on the metal ridge of the preacher curl machine handle. Near the girl's change room near the water fountain there it always smells like food from the upstairs Palasad and it's a fun touch!

They'll wait until you incur a large amount of late fees and then come after you. The late fee is a 66% penalty every month. It's good to know that crunch takes advantage of disabled people on limited income. I will NEVER support them again and will let everyone know that they are deceptive and dishonest.

Very hard to get on most of the main exercise equipment for one. Staff are not friendly and a few I've spoken to about my main issue had a very poor attitude and weren't helpful at all. Most importantly, this place has absolutely horrendous customer service, very dishonest sales tactics which includes straight up lying to your face, and when you find out and try talk to someone about it it's "I donno" or deny deny deny. Then they lie to you and say they will fix it but don't, in fact quite possibly they made it worse. During covid I had to cancel my membership as they closed their daycare. They wouldn't let me cancel oh phone, had to get a manager to do it and they were never there when I was able to come in, once or twice I stopped in when they told me to and they STILL weren't there. Once, she was on vacation. So they just kept taking my money, dragging it out to eventually hit me with another yearly fee, and when I finally did cancel they charged me 3 more times! Random amounts that made zero sense for 2 of them. I went in to get them to reverse the charges and they said they would refund ONE, small one, that clearly didn't make sense, but never did. I've written a couple emails to head office, spoke to a couple managers there, with ZERO help. Managers say email head office and head office does not respond. This place is a fraud and they literally commit fraud and theft. They should be shut down followed by a class action lawsuit, as I've heard several stories like mine and a personal friend who broke his hip during covid and couldn't get there to cancel was charged the whole time and was hit with several nsf fees because of it as he could no longer work and had no income and they wouldn't cancel. CRIMINAL!! But...these crooks sleep fine at night I guess never responding to any emails, phone calls or reviews on any platform. I'd choose another gym if I were you.... Any other gym really.

I was emailed within a business day and I got more information on the classes and signed up for a Sweat and a Strength class. Their website is really easy to use in terms of finding out the schedule. I also found that in their portal area, you can even see the kind of things you will be doing in some workouts. This gym is pretty huge! There is an open reception area with a spot for people to stretch and roll out before and after classes. There is an open gym area where people can come in and work out on some of the machines and free weights. Keep in mind, this is not the type of gym where you run on a treadmill for 20 minutes. If you want to lift heavy objects and put them down, hang around on some bars, and swing on some rings, this is a good place to do it. The women's locker room was really big with multiple showers (including a handicap stall), lockers, and room to do makeup and hair. There's hair blowers, products, and straighteners available to use as well. For both classes I was in, it was around 20 people which is apparently uncommon. They had an influx of people from another gym come in so they were dealing with some additional bodies. Either way, the workout was adjusted to ensure we could all do it at the same time AND there were 2 trainers there to help out. The workouts are very crossfit-centric. Where I'm used to bootcamp with a timer, this is more "do ___ reps within this time" or "for ___ minutes do as many sets of ___ movement and ____ movement". This was new to me as I am used to doing however many reps I can get in before the buzzer goes. It was tough but it was doable. You can scale it back if you need to but they did ask for everyones reps at the end which may be a bit intimidating for newbies. I really really loved how the trainers were on top of helping your form or giving you props. I also loved how everyone high-fived each other after the workout. I'm very glad I took a chance and came out to Hybrid. Definitely take advantage of their 3-free classes. If you want a tough workout that builds muscle, but also conditions your body, the sweat and strength classes are great. They are easy going and casual. If you want some competitive action or big lifts, they also offer those types of classes as well. While I have no intention of leaving my current gym at the moment, I now know a very good spot I would flock if I do.

I was interested in testing out some new gyms in London and I was lucky that Orange Theory was…read moresigning up people for their soft opening. If you signed up, you could get discounted monthly memberships, and 4 free classes. The sign up was kind of long and confusing but in the end, I was signed up and ready to hit the classes. The staff here are working out the kinks as it hasnt actually had its grand opening yet so I dont want to judge them too harshly. They are helpful and welcoming which is all I can really ask for at this point. The classes are essentially high-intensity interval training (HIIT). They actually promote the same process as my current gym, the 'afterburn effect'. When you do short bursts of intense activity for a small period of time, your body continues to burn calories during the day. I know that this process works for some people, as I've been working out this way for a year, and I've seen many people lose a ton of weight due to this type of routine. Inside the orange-lit workout room you have a row of treadmills, a row of rowers, and a row of weight stations with a trx, bosu ball, free weights, and an ab dolly. During the workout, the trainer will let you know what you need to do. Every workout is different. No 2 workouts are the same so if you dont like doing the same thing over and over, this spot is for you. I have to say, the best thing about these classes is the technology. Before you enter, you are given a heart rate monitor. This is a cost of about $80 but these things arent cheap so its worth it. When you walk in, the staff can see that your monitor is on and working (or not working and you need to adjust). When you go into the workout room, the monitors above you tell you your heart rate, along with everyone elses. The goal is to get into the 'orange zone'. This is where you want to be to get that 'afterburn effect'. For every minute you are in the orange or red zone, you get a 'splat point'. I dont think there is any reward for getting splat points other than getting to a final goal that your trainer may set for the group. They say that you should attempt to get 12-20 splat points in a session. You'll start in the grey zone, move up to the blue as you warm up, the green will show your warmed up, the orange is the spot where you are working, and the red is where you are going all out. You'll spend a few minutes here, but they ensure you are not uncomfortable or at risk of hurting yourself. When your workout is done, you actually are EMAILED your results for that session. The minutes you worked out, the amount of time you spent in each zone, the calories burned, and splat points earned. Coolest. Thing. Ever. If you are someone who likes a smaller class, likes to have instruction, and wants something new and exciting each workout, this is the class for you. However, if you are like ME and you are not a fan of running...then maybe you will want to try a few classes and figure it out. I am no cardio bunny. I like body weight exercises and I like the bike or elliptical but I loathe running. I went to a few workouts, the first had about 20 minutes of running (intervals of slow, medium, and fast pace) and another class had 10 minutes of running, and a bunch of rowing, and then more running. Oh my goodness, my legs were burning. I don't think I will end up signing up for Orange Theory simply because I am at a point where cardio is actually doing me a disservice. I need more weight training. While there are SOME weights here, it is lower weight, high reps, at least for the classes I attended. I definitely suggest checking this place out and giving it a try. It's very cool and the heart rate stuff is not as gimmicky as I thought, it's pretty awesome!

I absolutely love Orange Theory Fitness! The staff are always very welcoming (usually always greet…read moreyou by name when you walk in the door) and the coaches are all excellent.
