How far into the Cedar Rapids ghetto am I willing to venture for mint chocolate chip malted milk…read moreballs? Two blocks (which is essentially into the heart of the ghetto). I was also searching for some supplements for my mom, but lets not kid ourselves, I was there for the malted milk balls. The health hut still has a fabulous selection of vitamins, supplements, and hard to find health foods. The parking lot in the back is very convenient, since the store is right on 1st Ave and there isn't really any parking in front. However, the parking lot appears to be a hangout for the locals. It's not exactly Cabrini Green, but I wouldn't walk around here alone after dark (or after noon, actually). The staff is always very helpful, they seem to really know what they're talking about and care about their customers. They aren't just there to sell you something.

I went to this area, new to Cedar Rapids wondering why people would call an area ghetto simply because Black people live there. I was immediately skeptical based on the comments, but was met by people of many cultures and walks of life who spoke as they passed. Some smiled. NOTHING is scary about this area so ignore the ignorance preceding my review. If you're afraid of people who don't look like you, stay in your bubble and disengage from society period. Anywho, enough about foolishness from foolish people. I ADORE ALICIA and really appreciate how she went out of her way to help me and answer my questions. There is a wide array of products, many specials and discounts, and the prices are great! I always come in for one thing and leave with 7 or 8 when I go to stores like these! There is parking on the side near McDonald's and in the rear so it's pretty convenient to get to. I will be a frequent customer and am SO GLAD I CAME!

I ordered fruit and vegetable trays from Cornucopia for a family gathering. They were spectacular,…read morefresh and delicious. We all enjoyed the taste, variety and quality of the produce. The price was so reasonable, I could hardly believe it. I can't wait to order these again the next time we are in Galesburg. Thank you, Cornucopia, for this excellent experience.

I would to start off this review by saying at I am not from Galesburg. I am from the far-off land…read moreof California, where humble shops like these don't really exist. When they do, they have competition against stores like Whole Foods who take customers from the local natural food stores, leading to the prices being marked up. I cannot emphasize enough the importance of keeping local businesses open and thriving, but I will humbly step off my soap box, and continue on to share my love for this beautiful business. As I get off the train from San Francisco and search up local restaurants, I come across Cornucopia, a hybrid business model that has both a deli and a market with great prices and a bigger selection than most stores I have seen. With curiosity in my head, and a growling stomach, I set off to walk the entire 3 minutes it takes to get to Cornucopia from the train station. I need not say the location of this place is great. The moment I walk in, I am greeted by both the delicious smell of Indian food as well as a nice woman by the name of Susan Lyon. She tells me that this is not only a family run business, but a business run by all women, and Susan (with her husband) are the founders. After our greetings and conversation, I walk to the deli where they had a fine selection of foods from sandwiches to curries. I order the coconut curry (a popular dish, from the words of the man working there) with turmeric rice, and a cup of coffee. I cannot understate the amount of flavor it has, and I highly recommend it to anyone who cannot do spicy food. I also see their selection of bulk spices, frozen meals, supplements, and everyday use items like toothpaste and shampoos. I walked out with a smile on my face, and as the cold Illinois wind hits me I feel longing to go back to the warmth of Cornucopia once again, but my train was to leave soon. I enjoyed every moment of this business, and I will always hope that they expand their business to California. If you ever are visiting Galesburg, Illinois, please make sure to go here. You will be pleasantly surprised by this humble family business. I hope my review, written on the observatory deck of the Amtrak, not only convince you to go here, but give you the little slice of life that Galesburg has to offer.

It's the perfect consistency and flavor- I could focus on this instead of drinking heavily to drown out my family's opinions about RFK Jr during our feast. Mother's Day Bratwurst cookout? All of them slap like a disgraced debutante whose promenade partner got fresh behind the ice sculpture. Driving to the East Side of Iowa city and simply want a top shelf Cuban Sandwich? Well tough shit for you, they don't have it on the top shelf; it's made fresh in front of your face. (In terms of quality though I will put that in a tip shelf). Finally, the staff are helpful and knowledgeable. The usual stereotype I have of a butcher is a really beefy and gruff dude with chronic meat sweats, who pals around with a baker and candlestick maker (why is that a job btw, that seems like a hobby at best). These guys don't look like that- giving me a lesson in stereotypes and judging books via their cover. As I chomp down on my deliciously spiced sausages, I realize that both my horizons and waistline have expanded. Finally, it is pronounced Toe-Ma's. Get that wrong and they will laugh at you, and you will deserve it.
