I've been watching here since I was in elementary for crying out loud. There's a lot of sentimental value attached to the Ayala cinemas of Alabang Town Center that no other move theater has. The cinemas are decent I would think. In all honesty, I see little to no difference between this cinema and any other. SM, Robinson's they're all the same to me. The only real difference is whether or not there's actually a 3D theater or an IMAX nearby. Haven't been to one of those all lazy boy movie theaters though. Anyway, Alabang Town Center has five cinemas. If you find yourself having to choose between the different ones then don't fret about it since I don't honestly see the difference. What I do like about it though are all the different things you can do while you wait for your movie.

You can easily find newly-released films in high-definition on the internet if you're willing to spend a lot of your time just to look for one. Most cinemas also sell very expensive ticket prices and it's only single screening so once you're done watching it, you can't just rewind it all over again. But there's just something about movie houses that I really like, especially the one in Megamall. Watching something on the big screen is a completely different experience from watching a movie on your small laptop or computer. The movie houses in Megamall is one of the biggest I have seen. I think it could accommodate over 500 people. The spaces in between seats are also spacious so you don't have to worry about feeling uncomfortable when you're watching a certain movie. There's also a lot of leg room, which is very important in cinemas especially if you're a tall person. Also if you want more popcorn, you don't have to worry about missing an important scene. Occasionally, movie attendants would go around the cinema to sell popcorn and bottled water. A pleasant experience indeed!

I like watching in Promenade because the cinemas and bathrooms are always clean, the seats are comfortable and they've got more than enough snack options close by. If I'm craving something salty, I buy the popcorn or fries. If I'm looking for something sweet, I buy an almond pretzel from Auntie Anne's. Another thing to consider is that they've got a big Fully Booked branch on the same floor so I usually browse through their new titles before heading in to watch the movie. That or I get lost in the haven of household items that is Gourdo's or the obsessive compulsive's organizing paradise, Beabi. The cinema also prides itself in having the Dolby Atmos sound system in some of the theaters so that's something to keep in mind when you're looking for an immersive cinema experience. Also, Greenhills is always packed on weekends so if you plan on watching a film that's just opened, either come early to buy tickets or prepare to watch at a later time. That also means that parking in the area can be challenging. If you hate to wait, take advantage of the mall's valet service. If there is anything to complain about, it's that their air conditioning is almost always turned up high, so bring a sweater or someone to hug. Or both, I recommend having both.

Robinons cinemas are notoriously small, but that's mostly because they cater to a fairly small audience. To be totally honest, I don't really like the seating and viewing angles here, and the aircon isn't that cold for some reason. It's a little bit cheaper than most SM or Ayala Cinemas, but it's not as comfortable of a movie-going experience most of the time. The best thing about this particular Robinsons' cinemas are the fact that there's a Taters right next to it. I'm not bashing it, honest! The fact that there's Taters is just really damn important, because the popcorn there is just the best. Robinson's own snack bar is pretty cheap too, making it a good alternative. Really, if you want a more affordable movie viewing, Robinson's is great, but as far as comfort goes, it's not the best by a longshot.

While I love watching movies, finding a good movie theatre can be difficult. There are some good…read moreones in Podium, in Greenhills and in Greenbelt but if you're in an SM Mall, you can expect crowds and older seats. That is until you discover Director's Club Cinema. This is more my style than the big cinemas. It feels like you're watching in a private theater with an audience limited to 25 or so people. I love that they use real La-Z Boy seats and not the fake recliners that are not at par with the real thing. The hefty price comes with unlimited popcorn and drinks. Although it's not as romantic as watching in a regular cinema with your loved one where you could be hip to hip (literally), I do love the space. The legroom is awesome - you could fit an entire row in front. I love that I could quietly watch my movie and feel like I'm just at home in a very expensive seat, getting popcorn served without having to get it myself. It really is a movie watching experience fit for a diva.

There's a lounge area inside where you can wait for the previous screening to end. There weren't enough seats for everyone waiting, so most people had to stand around awkwardly looking for a place to lean. Inside, it's quite cozy. It's not a colossal cinema because the lay-z boys are spaced pretty far apart, and each pair of seats are separated by a table in between. They were veeeeery comfortable seats--soft, fluffy, and could be reclined. If you're someone who has a pattern of falling asleep in movie theaters, this could be a problem because the comfy seats make it pretty easy to doze off. They take your popcorn preferences beforehand, and I ordered cheese, but honestly, I didn't care much for it. I don't even like popcorn so much, so that part of the deal was pretty much useless to me. While I did enjoy the experience, I don't think I'm going to make it a habit to pay so much more just for comfortable seats and not much else. Buying popcorn and water separately will still amount to less if I bought regular movie tickets. However, it wasn't a particularly bad experience.

It's located next to Timezone (similar to Dave & Buster's or the former Gameworks for U.S. visitors) and near Metta City, making it easy to spend the day shopping, eating, and catching a movie. One of the standout features is the massive floor-to-ceiling LED display that stretches across the wall and continues toward the Timezone entrance. It immediately gives the cinema a premium, high-tech atmosphere. Before entering the theaters, you'll pass the Movie Snack Bar, which offers popcorn in different flavors, drinks, and combo meals. During my visit, a regular popcorn bucket was ₱135, while a bottle of Wilkins Pure water was ₱45--both very reasonable for movie theater concession prices. Glorietta 4 offers several viewing experiences, including Luxe, Giant, and Dolby Atmos auditoriums. One thing to keep in mind is that guests are typically allowed into the theater only about 20 minutes before the scheduled showtime. I watched my movie in Cinema 6, which is a very large auditorium with comfortable La-Z-Boy-style reclining seats. The recliners are manually extended instead of powered, but they're spacious and comfortable enough for a relaxing movie experience. And we've learned that the first place to go to when you want to see a movie is Glorietta 4's cinema. See, they offer more choices and they usually have the new movies. Sometimes, it's cheaper to watch a film here! Because more and more people are finding out that this place isn't that bad, it gets pretty packed. The lines on the opening day and weekend for Avengers: Age of Ultron were pretty long and the whole floor was packed with people. The guards here really check your bags and there have been times when my friends and I were made to leave our cameras with the guard. I suggest reserving or buying your tickets online if you're seeing a really popular film at peak hours. If not, just buy the ticket when you get there. Don't forget to get some snacks while you're at it.
