It was also made by total morons for total morons. The brilliant kind of total morons, that is. PWR events are usually held in the Makati Cinema Square Arena. (When in Makati Cinema Square during a PWR night, really, just follow the noise. It's how I found it. Very hard to miss.) The program's format follows those of major pro wrestling brands like WWE and TNA, but still has that rough, independent, slightly unsafe feel to it. However, PWR and its patrons are completely self aware ahout this. Both the audience and performers know it isn't genuine and it's all for wild fun to a point that they carry it in stride, and that's where all the magic and chemistry that hold the whole event together comes from. I believe you might be sold by these stories alone: the characters are over the top, entertaining and are rowdier caricatures of Pinoy character stereotypes. One of the pro wrestlers' names is-- ahem-- "Kanto Terror." Another wrestler's tagline is "Minimum wage, maximum rage," but his character enters shaking literally EVERYONE's hands as if he were on everyone's side, and is portrayed as an over energetic nice guy dressed in head to toe yellow. (To which the crowd has often chanted "UST! UST!" or "PIKACHU! PIKACHU!") The energy and sense of community is so strong that even skeptics will eventually find themselves fist pumping, chanting, cheering and trash talking along with everyone else. Despite it being a performance, the level of action that happens live combined with the characters' senses of humor and commitment to their characters, as well as some wrestlers' mastery of pulling off pro wrestling moves, makes it very difficult to NOT get totally lost in the matches. I've witnessed wrestlers jumping from the 2nd floor of Makati Cinema Square's arena, as well as a fight literally ploughing unapologetically through the audience area fast enough to run over anyone who isn't careful. There are times when it's a little obviously staged, but sometimes the action gets so real you feel a genuine thrill, and it's the balance of these two that make PWR so enjoyable. Another part of PWR's charm is that these guys are obviously just cool regular dudes by day that like to train and pretend to beat each other up some nights for the pure fun of it, and for their passion for it. It makes you admire their generosity, dedication and spiritedness enough to tempt you to join them and create a PWR wrestler persona of your own. If you want an extremely crazy night full of action, unapologetic foolhardiness and most of all roaring passion, please, PLEASE watch PWR. Dare I say it's one of the most awesome and unique forms of entertainment you can find in the Philippines. Tickets are usually P250 a pop, but the experience is utterly priceless. Catch a show. As a professional wrestling fan who has never missed an episode of WWE RAW since 2009, I have always dreamed of witnessing an event right in front of my eyes. Through Yelp! Manila, I discovered that this is possible via the Philippine Wrestling Revolution (PWR). The shows are currently held at the iAcademy Auditorium in Makati City. The promotion is still at its relatively infant stages similar to smaller organizations in the United States, but the environment is already wildly fun and energetic. Nothing says a terrific wrestling show than free drinks, a lively crowd chanting whatever it wants, and seats close to the ring. The local flavor of PWR can be seen in its top performers. Social issues prevalent in the Philippines are represented via the wrestlers, whether it is social media (Ken Warren), networking scams (The Network), romance (Rederick Mahaba), or online gaming (VIntendo). Of course classical pro wrestling gimmicks such as a supernatural being (The Apocalypse), an underdog fighter (Ralph Imabayashi), and an arrogant true heel (Brian Leo) leading a heel group (Royal Flush) are present, interacting with characters heavily inspired from Filipino themes, which makes for an electrifying dynamic inside and outside the ring. The matches are fast-paced and action-packed from start to finish. However, some of the popular finishing moves such as the Stunner and Spear are used in the middle of the match, which lessens their eventual impact. Nonetheless, innovation is also evident as there were some moves I have never seen before. The transition between moves need some polishing, although this will improve in time. I applaud the PWR for starting a true wrestling phenomenon in the Philippines. There is always room for improvement, but seeing the dedication of the performers and the enthusiasm of the crowd, I strongly think they will make it. Once the PWR hosts a show at the Araneta Coliseum, the revolution will be a success. Support our own.

If its your first time they give you a 15 min introduction course on how to climb, the different rules as well as how to belay and how to use the auto belay. It was very informative, and helpful, afterwards your on ur own to climb. There were a lot of different climbing stations. Approximately 25 or so, with 5 auto belay areas, each one having about 2 or 3 routes, varying in difficulty, and depending on the color od the hand holds. Each one went up about 20-30 feet. Upstairs they also had a bouldering area as well with nice thick padding since there was no harnessing. We spent a good 2 hours here and it was fun. My forearms and fingers were screaming after. But the place is nicely maintained, clean and comfortable. They had central air running which made it nice. The employees were attentive and watching but not oppressive by any means. The equipment were sturdy. The hand holds werent sticky at all. Nor were they loose. They felt very firm. The cords all look well maintained. They weren't frayed or coming apart. This is a very well put together rock climbing place. Will be back again when im in the area.

My friend who's really active (she loves basketball and runs marathons) invited me and my sister to go rock climbing in Market! Market! And at first I thought she was joking. There's a rock climbing area inside a mall at the cinema area? But she assured me there was so I was totally game. I don't know any other indoor climbing places in Manila aside from the one that used to be in Power Plant Mall. I find that there being one in Market! Market! is extremely convenient for first timers and climbers who want to climb on a whim. You don't have to go far or out of town and it's very accessible to the public. It's a 44 foot wall and has different sides ranging from easy to difficult depending on your expertise and experience. Staff will be there to guide you of course. It was super fun and there were even 10 year old boys climbing along with us. It is an open area though so if you're quite shy or nervous, you might want to climb in an earlier time because a lot of people watch. But don't worry! When my friend heard that I was interested in hiking, he immediately planned a trip to Tanay, Rizal. He told us that he knows this really cool place where we could hike. It took us 1 and a half hours to get to Tanay, Rizal. We first went to Brgy. Daraitan to contact a tour guide. When we finally found a tour guide for our day trip, we decided to head out to Mt. Daraitan. We only assigned one person from our barkada to take pictures, because we heard that a girl fell down the mountain while she was taking selfies (Yikes!). During our hike, there were many campsites and way points where we rested. There's also a super clean river down the mountain where some of my friends bathe in. If you want to visit an ecotourism site, you can take an alternate trail to Mt. Lugang, a beautiful mountainous region deep within Sierra Madre. This place will surely make you appreciate the beauty of mother nature. It was a very tiring adventure. At first, I was really scared, but the tour guide told me that I'll be safe as long as I follow all of his guidelines. This experience is definitely one for the books!

I found really good ones but they were in Quezon city, a bit far from me. Fortunately, I found one that was just a few minutes away. I found out that R.O.X., a one stop shop for anything outdoors, had Rock Climbing facilities. What's great is that their shop is in the heart of the city: The Fort, and they are just in Bonifacio High St. They're literally inside a mall. How convenient! So I skedaddled to their Rock Climbing facility and signed up for a class. The thing was, there are no classes. There's just a quick briefing about the activity, plus a few tips. A few warnings and advices later, I found myself with a harness, a wall to climb, and zero experience. The coaches were very friendly and supportive. They guided me at the start and when I got the hang of it, I just found myself at the top of the wall tired and sweay. When I was done, I had climbed three walls; one easy, one intermediate, and one difficult. The learning curve for rock climbing isn't that steep. All I needed was myself, the desire to learn, and I had fun with it. Rock Climibng was a bit challenging but it was a very awesome experience for me. I really had fun traversing the walls with just my arms, legs, and a harness for safety. It's a bit expensive though, but a good price for this kind of activity (considering that the coaches also help you if you're a beginner). You might spot famous rock climbers in this place! When I went there, I had the privilege of seeing one of the female Filipinos who climbed Mt. Everest. And yes, I was very intimidated and honored at the same time.

I was actually confused on how I would categorize this part of my village park. The truth is that…read morethis facility of the park is just a covered court and is used for a wide array of different activities. When it was first made, this court was actually meant to be a volleyball court or a badminton court. It could be used by the village residents absolutely free of charge. There were times when my mother and I would spend our afternoons playing badminton here. Those were the good old days. Anyway, things have changed since then. Nowadays the net isn't there anymore. Im not sure what happened to it, but with the net gone people don't play volleyball or badminton there anymore. However, during the morning I noticed that the court is used for Zumba. There are moms, lolas, and titas there who all dance to the beat in order to lose weight. I have no idea if its free or open to anyone though.
