After, leaving a message and not hearing back I made a couple of other attempts and no answer, finally someone picked up the phone and I was greeted with F-U. My boat broke down while on Saratoga Lake. I was able to get it back on the trailer and discovered the engine block had a crack. While parked in the lot near the business George approached me and asked if I was having problems. I explained the situation and George took my boat right away. I had taken a gamble and purchased an old, 1985 Glastron Conroy X-17 bowrider over the winter. I did so blindly, without being able to start it or thoroughly check it out. I knew this was risky, but the price was reasonable to I took a shot on it. Come Spring, I brought the boat to George at Powerboat Services to go through and de-winterize. Not only did he de-winterize it, he thoroughly went through the boat and found no problems, then added a new trailer jack and jack wheel for the one that had locked up on me. The boat was done within a day. George was fast, courteous, knowledgeable, helpful, professional and very reasonably priced. I was wary of bringing my boat to one of the better known marinas on Saratoga Lake due to several unsatisfactory experiences with their personnel in the past. Thankfully, I found George at Powerboat Services, conveniently located on Fish Creek (part of Saratoga Lake) right off Rt. 29. George is an expert marine mechanic. He quickly diagnosed the faults on my OB motor and had it running as good as new in short order. It was a fast and efficient job. George also kept in contact with me throughout the process and went out of his way to keep the repair cost down (cost included labor and parts). George has a very well-equipped shop and can tune or repair just about anything boat-related. He is that rare marine mechanic with decades of experience and outstanding customer service skills.
