Pleased to be the first to review! Rabble's philosophy is that exercise should be fun, so their…read moregames are throwbacks to childhood and the playground (British Bulldogs, Dodgeball, all variations of Tag, Frisbee, Robin Hood, Zombie Hunt) and the equipment involves bouncy balls, Nerf guns, foam javelins, and (at one point) and inflatable banana. I once tracked a game with GPS and ran 5k within one session. They're reasonably priced - I've bought two £50 packages, each of which covers 10 games to be used anytime - and switch between North, South, and City; once a month is an epic North vs South playoff. Before you think this is like BMF but with "childish" games, come check out a session. Everyone enjoys themselves all the time. (Compare the smiling faces of Rabblers to the scowls of any other fitness group.) Charlotte & Rosemary, who run the sessions, are encouraging and playful themselves and never want anyone to have a bad time; there are no sore losers in Rabble! It's just the right amount of competitive for those who can't dedicate so much time and energy to playing an amateur sport, and while you'll be missed if you don't show up, the team won't lose because you're not there as teams are semi-randomly assigned at the start of each session. The question remains: do you run faster when you're chasing or being chased?? Either way, I've definitely improved my fitness over the past year with this gang and had a blast to boot. All sessions end with a trip to the pub for drinks (weeknights) or lunch (weekends). It's a great crowd!

Rabble makes me sad that I don't live in London right now…read more Rabble is absolutely great, the team are fantastic, and it's just so easy to meet people and enjoy exercise. There are a lot of throwbacks to your time on the playground, and it actually is super fun- when I first went it wasn't when I was converted to gym-bunniness either. It's outdoors, so it's as fresh as you can get for London, and gosh does it make you competitive! I don't know if it's because it's team games where you're against others, or because you refuse to be out of breath and lose at a game in your twenties that you won so much in first school, but it works! Make sure you take enough water, especially if it's hot.

Over and over again, delayed it is. Frustrating, it is. Mmmm, patience, a Jedi must have. But this, even Yoda cannot endure. Like Tatooine in a sandstorm, confusion there is. Week after week, "Start soon, we will," they say. Soon, how soon is it? Like finding a good droid on Jakku, impossible it seems! Expected, I did, the start of the league. Yet, vanished it has. Like Alderaan, no sign of it there is. Each week, another delay. Frustrated, many players are. Gather we did, with hope in our hearts. Instead, we sit and wait. And wait. And wait. Communication, they lack. In a galaxy far, far away, perhaps the organizers are. Informed, we are not. Frustration leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to...well, not good volleyball, that is. Funny it might be, if sad it were not. Ready to play, we are. Yet playing, we are not. Like training with a broken lightsaber, pointless it feels. Solution, I have not. Only words of advice, I offer: better, they must do. Start the league, they must. Disappointed, my team is. Disappointed, many teams are. Join again, will we? Uncertain, that is. Trust in the Force, we try. But trust in Go Mammoth Volleyball League? Vanishing, it is. Review score, I give: Two stars out of five. For hope, one star. For frustration, the other. To the future, I look. Better days, I hope for. Ready to play, always we are. But waiting, forever we will not. Play, may we soon. If not, to the dark side of dodgeball, perhaps we turn.

This is badly organised and if you have a problem - better find someone else to tell about it because they care about nothing else except making money and your experience after that doesn't matter. Also be careful if you do decide to join because they put way too many players in each team so you will be paying a lot of money and you will hardly get to even play... Standards are also very questionable.. so you won't improve any of your skills either. Really disappointing.

Thank you to Marianne W. who reminded me of this. I can't believe I missed reviewing it back in…read more2010 when I went to a double-header match on 13-November. I remember hearing about it at a Yelp Elite event from the wonderful Lizzie G. but that was in the before times when Yelp had an international presence and actual Elite Events like WestFest https://www.yelp.com/biz/yelps-westfest-london?hrid=aVjHefRH-DhIDyr7P2qXcA and Yelp Will Rock You at the O2 https://www.yelp.com/biz/yelp-will-rock-you-london?hrid=em9CEJmV25oxTTKCZWu1EQ. I made my way into London to do some exploring that day and at the end of the evening, took the tube over to West Ken and the Olympia https://www.yelp.com/biz/olympia-london-london?hrid=89_b4LlfuSY8nUEmk80Kkg for the event. Bad ass women with clever monikers like "Crucial Taunt" and "Bad Faith", kicking butts and taking names while skating in circles. My night's match was the Ultraviolent Femmes vs The SuffraJets and while I can't remember who won. But it was fun to watch the sport and I had a great time. They're still skating. Keep an eye on their Facebook page for scheduled matches. [Review 16580 overall - 832 in United Kingdom - 90 of 2022.]

You'll find me at every game, standing at the side line, cheering these brave ladies on. Seriously, this has to be the most amount of fun you can have sober on a Saturday night in London. I've been twice now and every time I leave I thinking "Wow, that was fun. I want to take part!" Obviously, I fear for my own life and would never actually have the balance or skill to be able to do what these ladies do, but it's a serious amount of fun. There is beer, wine and donuts. That's me happy for the night! It's strange but it's a real family event too, which I didn't expect. Loads of kids there supporting their mums. Boyfriends, friends and dads screaming for their lady friends to beat the F#@king crap out of the other team. In the nicest way possible of course. I just have to say that last night when we were watching, Kamakazi Kitten who was the lead Jammer in the first bout, you are my hero. This woman is tiny and so fast. She really did make the whole game so exciting. When I grow up. I want to be just like you!

However, I wasn't impressed with the instructor: he didn't give any introductions to new people and he only paid attention to a select couple girls in the class. I also went in the morning so the shower line was crazy long, so just plan accordingly. The bathroom itself is quite large though so it doesn't get uncomfortably crowded. I would definitely go back, but I'd probably try a different instructor.

I see exercise differently, I feel, to other people. This place gives me no option but to push my fitness boundaries and achieve personal goals. It may look intimidating, from their Instagram account. Handfuls of 10 packed HE-man esque men and woman,,, BUT this inspires me. The way I view the red-lit dungeon that you are kept prisoner in for 60 minutes is that you will always leave feeling incredible. There are moments you feel like your legs are going to fall off and your head will burst BUT when they say those magical words for the last time ... "ANNNND RECOVER.." you feel like SUPERMAN! At a 'normal' Gym I am so intimidated by the beefcakes at the weight stands that I don't go near it, where at Barry's I am running along side Pro-athletes feeling like we are in this together. I've read previous reviews and YES the trainers can be a little intense but this is HIGH INTENSITY training. There is a part in the class that you really want to give UP. Like really want to GIVE UP! Thats when they start shouting at the that lazy demon inside to .. GO AWAY! Just see it as the trainers are there for you to get the most out of your money.. without them you wouldn't work as hard.. and just to finish off with a little pearl of wisdom I have learnt whilst taking these classes.. Just remember..... IT ALWAYS ENDS!!!!
