The tour gave us pretty much all access to areas that on a normal day a fan would not be able to see! It takes you on an audio guided tour through the entire stadium pointing out facts about the stadium and history of the team. It was nice to walk around at your own pace and not feel pressured to keep moving. It was even nicer to be able to see the suites, player's locker room, and most of all be down by the pitch and sit in one of the players seats, but almost more important all of the staff were very friendly and helpful. At the end of the tour it puts you in the Arsenal team store which was very big and had almost any Arsenal item that you may want. So, if you are a Gunners fan and want to have a cool experience to get closer to your team go on the Arsenal Stadium tour.

Pregame communication was great. We arrived many hours early as suggested. They had communicated to me about dietary restrictions and indicated they were able to provide gluten free food days prior. The trouble began when we were dropped off. There were no signs to the Rose and Ball club. We asked one guard and were sent to the opposite side of the stadium from the actual location. We asked another employee and were sent to a different club inside the hotel. We continued to ask for staff help and no one knew where the club was. 30 minutes after arrival or longer we asked the 7th person who was actually an employee of the visiting club who was clearing an area for the visiting club to arrive..he initially said he didn't know then a few minutes later chased us down and said he heard found out for us and pointed us in the right direction. Well, at least the visiting team staff was helpful. Well went to the club for the "premium" experience and it was awful. By this time (about 2 hours before the match) there was no place to sit. It was Very Overcrowded, uncomfortably so!!! We tried numerous times to get help finding or obtaining gluten free food. Each time, our initial interaction with staff was friendly and they wanted to help but of the 5 staff members we asked for help, only the last one returned. All others went to talk to a manager and never returned. The people working the food stations were clearly scrambling and very apologetic that they couldn't help. They said there was a QR code that could be scanned for ingredients for each dish but that often didn't work as most people can't get a good cell signal in the overcrowded area. We could not get a good signal. The workers said they used to have paper labels but stopped doing that and guests now struggle and they need to go back to the old system. The staff and the guests we're visibly uncomfortable standing shoulder to shoulder in a room where you could barely move your arms to try to eat and drink while you stood there feeling like a sardine smashed in a can. One staff member complained that this was ridiculous. He said they do this every match. They grossly oversell access to the club b to maximize revenue and the majority of the guests stand around uncomfortably and the staff is put in a position where they can't possibly provide good service nor help people. Well, I happened to agree. It was an awful match day experience. So very disappointing. I would never buy a Rose and Ball premium experience again.

The tour lasted about an hour and a half and it was fantastic. We walked through the home and visitors locker room, walked onto the field, explored the views from the press box, and even sat in the media room where the players speak after each game. It was awesome! Our guide, Raymond, was fantastic. You could hear his passion for the team and for the sport in everything he said, from the history of the stadium to the knowledge of each player. He was very engaging and outgoing with our small group of 8. I would recommend this tour!

First-Hand Experience: Well I've seen QPR play live, in person, 3 times total. Once against Oxford United, once against Liverpool, and once in a pre-season game. They're a proud club with more money than they should have. I respect them and appreciate them but they're not my fave, and don't play amazing football either. It's a rich little club in West London that is a rival of Chelsea and Fulham, and just got a lot richer with the new owners. However despite their wealth and a litany of excellent well known overpaid players, they keep getting relegated, and will probably be again this season. Formed in 1882, they play in blue and white hoops, and my brother once played for them in his imagination. His fave player was Les Ferdinand. They were runners up in the Prem back in 1976, and FA Cup runners up in 1982, but the only thing they've ever won is the League Cup in 1967, as well as runners up in 86 (go Oxford!). I have no affinity with this team whatsoever although their stadium does create an excellent atmosphere.

First-Hand Experience: More info about my personal experience at this stadium - I've actually only ben to this stadium 3 times (or about 10 if you count visiting the outside of it). It's absolutely tiny inside! You'd never imagine it's a Premier League stadium. It is pretty modern and enjoyable on the inside though. The rich owners have jazzed it up and made it like a posh little box. The crowd is absolutely intense and right on top of the field and I always feel like part of the action when I'm in here. Definitely one of the better stadiums, but the prices and the small size are the reason it's a 4. I've been to every significant stadium in UK & US, due to a lifelong obsession with travel, sport & especially footy (soccer to Americans). Born & raised in England, I followed Oxford United (hometown team) to stadia all over the country at away games, and later followed Liverpool (fave team) around. I can't give this stadium less than a 4 because it's so loud and intense and the crowd are right on top of the players, but there's no way such a tiny stadium can get a 5 for a club that should really have a bigger and grander stadium. It looks like they won't be in the Prem much longer anyway (they never usually are), but if the club won't be missed (too many London clubs, esp West London), then the stadium will and its atmosphere too. It's in White City, a great part of London that is maybe a little racially monotonous. It's just near Shepherd's Bush. I think maybe he should shave it off. In the spring of 2002, when I was doing a semester abroad in London, I did a work study (internship) at QPR. At the time, they were in the Second Division (third tier). I had hear of QPR but didn't know much about the club. But my time there made me a fan and I'm proud to be a supporter of the R's. Now that they're back in the top flight, I had a perfect excuse to head back over the pond for a visit and to take in a Premiership match. Loftus Road Stadium is definitely a throw-back to the more modest days of the sport. Compared to Arsenal's new Emirates Stadium (review here: http://www.yelp.com/biz/the-emirates-stadium-london#hrid:nvZxRYSY_mKiQndnHx2iQw), Loftus Road is like a backyard shed. It's old, not at all modern, and for a Premier League ground, quite small. But it also has immense character, is very intimate, and incredibly approachable. One of the great things about the smaller clubs is how accessible the players are as well. If you get to Loftus Road early you can catch many of the players walking from the player parking lot into the stadium, and most of them are happy to stop to sign an autograph or snap a quick photo with you. Try doing that at Manchester United or Chelsea! QPR is a fantastic little club with an incredible history. Hopefully they'll be in the top flight for years to come. Which means I better start saving up now for what I hope can be an annual pilgrimage.

I will put aside the fact that I am not an Arsenal fan while I write this. The store has just about anything you could want in regards to Arsenal merchandise. For the die hard fans, there is enough here to deck out your house and really show your love for your team. For me, a lot of the stuff is a bit gimmicky, and I could not justify spending money on things like that. But the term 'fanatical supporter' is a good way to describe some fans, and I guess money isn't an issue when you are supporting your team.

Naturally, people then trip and get hurt. It's not very nice, but then the fans of this team weren't always very nice. This was my hometown team and I followed them around for years. So nobody has more first-hand experience than I do, not in Yelp terms anyway. The team has a history of having a hooligan element and even a fascist element, so I should really downgrade them, but they are such a great team that has fallen such a long way and been to the bottom and starting coming back up again a bit, I feel like they've paid their dues for all of the bad karma caused by some of the fascist fans in the past, and besides, they've never been as bad as Chelsea. I used to go and watch Oxford United on a regular basis when I was a kid, and though I've only been to the new stadium a few times (my days were the Manor Ground days), I remember it fondly. They won the League Cup in the 80s, beating QPR, which was their greatest ever achievement. They had players like Mark Wright, Mark Lawrenson, Dean Saunders and John Aldridge... oh and Ray Houghton. All of whom ironically ended up playing for Liverpool. You could say they were the Liverpool feeder club (by way of Derby, in two of those cases). They play in lovely yellow and seeing their kits from the 80s still makes me tingly and long for the days of being a kid, standing on the terraces at Oxford, paying a pittance to watch them play (was it six pounds when I was a kid? Something like that). Oh for the old days. You could walk to the stadium from my house. And I often did. More often I cycled, though. Oh and btw, they were founded in 1893, they're known as the U's, Ron Atkinson played 560 games for them, and they would have played in Europe in 87 if not for the ban on English teams. Their more recent great moment was winning the Conference Play Off 3-1 over York City to get back into the football league. Their main rival is Swindon. Oh, and if you're in Oxford for any reason, get a Mixed Kebab from Bodrum Kebab... thank me later. Make sure there's garlic and chili sauce on it. I can't wait for Oxford to rise back up to the upper tiers.

However, I wasn't impressed with the instructor: he didn't give any introductions to new people and he only paid attention to a select couple girls in the class. I also went in the morning so the shower line was crazy long, so just plan accordingly. The bathroom itself is quite large though so it doesn't get uncomfortably crowded. I would definitely go back, but I'd probably try a different instructor.

I see exercise differently, I feel, to other people. This place gives me no option but to push my fitness boundaries and achieve personal goals. It may look intimidating, from their Instagram account. Handfuls of 10 packed HE-man esque men and woman,,, BUT this inspires me. The way I view the red-lit dungeon that you are kept prisoner in for 60 minutes is that you will always leave feeling incredible. There are moments you feel like your legs are going to fall off and your head will burst BUT when they say those magical words for the last time ... "ANNNND RECOVER.." you feel like SUPERMAN! At a 'normal' Gym I am so intimidated by the beefcakes at the weight stands that I don't go near it, where at Barry's I am running along side Pro-athletes feeling like we are in this together. I've read previous reviews and YES the trainers can be a little intense but this is HIGH INTENSITY training. There is a part in the class that you really want to give UP. Like really want to GIVE UP! Thats when they start shouting at the that lazy demon inside to .. GO AWAY! Just see it as the trainers are there for you to get the most out of your money.. without them you wouldn't work as hard.. and just to finish off with a little pearl of wisdom I have learnt whilst taking these classes.. Just remember..... IT ALWAYS ENDS!!!!
