I bought a top floor condo in a house built in the 1880s. The plumbing is "quaint" to say the…read moreleast. I wanted a washer/dryer in my unit. All previous owners went down to the basement to do laundry. I tried 5 different plumbers and Daniel Wright was the only one who agreed to plumb in a ventless dual unit for a reasonable price. He did an outstanding job very efficiently. I have used him for so many other things, including installing a new water heater, and a range of other major and minor fixes. He is always responsive, prompt, cheerful, extremely knowledgable and his prices are very fair. I've owned many homes in my life, in many places, and have worked with other plumbers in this area. I know I found my North Shore plumber and am very happy to recommend Danny unreservedly.

It was a Saturday evening, about 4:00 PM and we were about to leave for 2 week vacation overseas,…read morewhen we went into our storage room to grab something and found a puddle of water from our hot water heater. I immediately googled who could replace this in a short turnaround and called one of the "big companies" that does this kind of work. I was told they could come on Monday to evaluate and then depending on the evaluation, they would then schedule what would need to be done, which was a couple days after that. Each step with them cost money too. I couldnt wait that long and looked up more options when I came across Daniel Wright Plumbing & Heating. There were other reviews that were reminiscent of what I was going through. I called and left a message. I received a call back in less than an hour. He asked a few questions about the unit I had, I texted a few pictures and he was at our house the next morning to look at the situation. He gave me a quote when he left and he was at our house the next morning (Monday) when he said he would be, installed the new hot water heater and cleaned up after himself. He did quality work, was reliable, communicated transparently, was polite and professional. He followed-up after to ensure all was working properly. Highly recommend and he will definitely be our first call when in a situation like this again.

Ryan was great, tried to keep my carpets/bathroom clean as much as possible and was patient in discussing my options and answering my questions. Surprisingly was able to get an appointment for install on Monday. Jared was also great. Definitely appreciate the small details and concerns to keep the carpet clean like hand carrying both the old and new water heater up 2 flights of stairs. Between the quick response/scheduling time, clean workmanship, and fine attention to detail, happy to say the leaking water heater experience felt less chaotic with 128's help! Total turnaround time, Friday 11pm to Monday 4pm hot water up and running!!

Their price also included a 3 year service plan. The install was scheduled 3 days after I accepted the quote, others were scheduling 2-3 weeks out. On the day of the installation, the 128 crew arrived right on time, calling ahead to let me know they were on the way. They showed up with a four man crew, 2 installers for the mini-split and 2 electricians. The work was pristine, the wiring was neat, the unit was placed on a pad and looks great! The crew (Paul, Nedim, Nick & Connor) was extremely professional and curtious. The work was completed by 3pm same day. I am 100% pleased with the work and will be using them going forward for all my HVAC needs.

Terrible. Would not hire under any circumstances. Goes back on his word and acts like a child…read more Offered to pay for sillcocks that were damaged during construction. He told me "no I will make you whole, no charge, don't worry about it." About 2 months later, he had a falling out with my contractor about payments and threatened me with a lien if I did not pay (illegal). When he realized he's not a lawyer and couldn't do that, he then sent a bill for the work he assured me he would do for free. Would not return calls or emails and deferred everything to his poor secretary who had nothing to do with the situation. Pathetic. Don't hire them. A call back would be nice John.

John also clearly knows what he's doing, but as the business owner, seemed rushed to get in and out and I don't think his work was as refined as Mike's. My biggest issue with them is their office staff. They do not return phone calls or emails, no matter how urgent or what the subject is. It took me about 10-12 phone calls just to pay them. Unfortunately, about a week after the project finished, we started having issues, most notably a leaking dishwasher and frozen pipes. Despite several calls, I never heard back from them. I fixed these issues myself, but considering I paid a lot of money for their services, I wasn't happy about this. I also worry about other quality issues propagating. Price seemed high, but my GC insisted on them. Getting them on the schedule was difficult and we saw project delays as a result.

We're a small collective that shares stories from freelance and contract workers who've been…read moretreated unfairly. This is one of those stories. A contractor was hired by this company to build a fully functional website on a rushed timeline. They were told they were the only person working on the project, and that the urgency was due to the company's former developer being in a legal dispute and planning to take down the live site by June 1st, 2025. The contractor dropped everything to help and finished the site two weeks before the deadline. Over the course of several weeks, the contractor even went to their office multiple times for meetings with the owner's son and other team members, working in good faith to move the project forward. After the work was done, it came to light that two or three other people were also working on the same site, despite the company claiming otherwise from the start. When the contractor followed up for payment, the owner's son who was the main point of contact allegedly said "My boy could do it for less than $1,000, so our initial agreement on price is gonna be a lot less now." He also added he was going on vacation in 15 days and "didn't have time to deal with it." All this while wearing an expensive Rolex. The contractor was told, "Send me the invoice I'll pay you for your time." The invoice was sent immediately, and the son followed up once more saying, "I'll get back to you." After that, he went completely silent no reply, no payment. The contractor was left dismissed and disrespected. The stress and anxiety from this on top of an existing heart condition led to serious mental and physical strain. Legal steps have since been taken. This post is meant to warn others if you're a freelancer, contractor, or subcontractor, be cautious. Get everything in writing, and don't ignore red flags. No one should be pressured, misled, ghosted, or lowballed after showing up, putting in the time, and delivering their end of the deal.
