HIRE THIS COMPANY! I've lived in this area for 28 years and never have I come across someone with this much professionalism and knowledge! The inspection he did was the most thorough and detailed I've ever seen. He found items other inspectors missed on our pre-drywall inspection. We should have had him come first! He will be our go-to for here on out. Always! He knows code. He knows his stuff! Hire him and be done, know that you hired the best. I'm serious. Don't even consider another company. Richard Dias (PowerWorks Inspections) is the absolute BEST home inspector! He does a very thorough and high-quality home inspection. My husband and I were very impressed and learned a lot from him. Most important I could tell that he is a genuine and honest person who was truly looking out for our best interest. Richard went above and beyond our expectations. He walked us through pointing out everything and answering our questions. Finally, a comprehensive report with pictures and recommended repairs was submitted to us the same day!!!! He also went above and beyond by providing us with a separate list of all appliances in the home and their serial numbers that we could use when registering for homeowners insurance. His prices are fair. He is worth every penny, if not more. We will continue to use him and we will definitely recommend him to anyone that will listen. If you are buying a home, I don't think it's possible that there is a better home inspector in the Newnan, Sharpsburg, Peachtree City, Fayetteville area than Richard Dias. read more

Moving across the country is an incredibly stressful process. One of the hardest parts is not living in your chosen city to coordinate such things as home inspections. We have only been able to see our chosen home in person once so we needed a home inspector that we could truly trust. Thank goodness that we found Richard! He is capable, thorough, and incredibly trustworthy. He gave us an impressive report with lots of pictures. He even flew a drone to get perfect shots of the roof! Even our realtor was impressed. Highly recommend! We found PowerWorks online and read all of the great reviews before choosing Richard to do our home inspection. He most certainly did not disappoint. He spends his time very thoroughly going through the entire house - inside and out, top to bottom. He walked us through the items he considered the most pressing before he left the home. The report that he delivered that evening was extensive and had everything broken down by major/minor/safety/maintenance issue types. We also had him perform a radon inspection, and he informed us of the results as soon as it was completed. At our request, he recommended a radon remediation company as well. Richard is really on it ... and he really seems to care about his clients. That's true professionalism. read more

Richard Dias with Powerworks Inspections did a very thorough inspection of our new construction home. We live in a new community where home inspections are a necessity, not a luxury, unfortunately. On average, Richard spent an hour to an hour and a half longer inspecting the home than another company used by our neighbors. He found several things not completed properly with our roof, which was our biggest concern. When the inspection was completed, he went around the home and showed us all of the locations of the issues and explained each one. His report was thorough and detailed with pictures, which was very helpful in explaining to subcontractors what needed to be repaired. When the builder representative was given Richard's list of home issues to correct, he asked who the home inspector was, and he was NOT happy that it was Powerworks! Powerworks Inspections had their initial training in Alaska and New Hamshire building homes. From there we moved home to Connecticut. There we expanded the constructuon business to include HERS Ratings, BPI Building analyst energy testing and retrofits and health and safety inspections along with Home Inspections. Moving to Georgia we now focus on Home Inspections, Radon and Mold Testing.

I am the owner of Powerworks Inspections. I am a licensed, insured and certified home inspector. All my adult years in New Hampshire and 25 years in Alaska I have been involved in all aspects of construction. I am passionate about home inspections! I perform each home inspection as if you are a family member. My parents raised me to always treat others as I would like to be treated. In Alaska, I lived in a remote community in Big Delta Alaska. With this isolated location, we had to boat to get in and out of the property during summer months to reach the Alaskan Highway. During winter months, ice bridges needed to be constructed to create a road over the delta river. It was in this environment my care and respect of other grew. In our community we did not care about your nationality or race, What mattered was, Were you honest? Did you keep your word to the best of your ability? Did you look after your neighbor? To this day, I have care and respect embedded in my heart.

To say that trusting Pillar to Post was a massive mistake is an understatement. His report pointed…read moreout less than a handful of minor cosmetic issues and I bought my first home not realizing that this guy had no clue what he was doing and I was walking into a nightmare. Literally missed every single major problem, no matter how obvious the issue would have been to other inspectors. Even the simplest things- a water heater that his report said was from 2017, was actually 17 YEARS OLD and leaking. And it only gets worse...Right after I moved in, I realized that the flat roof was leaking--I looked really closely at some of the pictures he took for insignificant stuff like "a noisy fan" only to realize that sure enough there were small water stains on the ceiling that he completely ignored. He took a picture of a jamming door with an uneven gap between the frame and stated it "needed weather stripping. In actuality the entire 4 level house is sloping to the middle and the gap in the door is because of the structural issue. To make it even funner, the concrete column holding up the patio outside of the door was cracked and crumbling -completely missed it. Literally my patio that is 20ft off the ground is barely being held up by a few nails and crumbling concrete column. The icing on the cake? A HOLE IN THE FLOOR THE SIZE OF MY FIST from a patio door leak that travels though THREE LEVELS- he was completely clueless. Literally the subfloor is completely gone and I can stick my arm in and touch the ceiling of the level below. All that in addition to leaky windows, an entire missing glass panel that was missing on the living room patio, and a kitchen that is sinking into the sloping floor. Add in 4 levels of mold from all the water leaks and you get a house that can't even be sold for half of what I bought it for. The issue is not that he did not see the indicators of major issues like cracked walls, stuck doors, and ceilings-it's that he lacked the ability to recognize indicators of huge structural problems and the attention to detail was non-existent and this being my first inspection, I didn't realize just how terrible the inspection was until I moved in. His entire inspection could fit in 2 paragraphs. The inspection from a second inspector after I realized he missed things was over 150 pages long and he found ALL of the issues Pillar to Post missed. Pillar to Post uses exculpatory clauses in their agreements to absolve them from carelessness- so they could care less if the house falls to the ground or not. I have not had peace since I bough this house and have had so much difficulty coping with the fact that I have to either come up with hundreds of thousands of dollars to fix the house, or sell it to an investor at a hundreds of thousand dollar loss. Anyone can buy a Pillar to Post Franchise and call themselves an inspector so I strongly recommend avoiding this company at all costs.

Worst and least useful home inspection report that we've ever received. The first report consisted…read moreof a PDF attachment and a link a completely different PDF file. The PDF attachment listed two "concerns" involving smoke and carbon monoxide detectors but no other information--most importantly, no discussion positive or negative of any of the other parts of the home that were inspected. The linked attachment listed three other concerns and noted that the HVAC couldn't be tested because of the cold weather--again, no discussion of any other parts of the home. We followed up with the inspector, who indicated that there was an issue with the computer system that generated the reports. A day later (as the due diligence period is ticking), the inspector posted a longer report. The report was missing some of the items from the first report, so ANOTHER report was posted. However, the final report mostly added pictures with almost no extra text. This is the first home purchase where we have not been able to accompany the inspector, and we really regret it. The reports were not up to a professional standard, and I STRONGLY recommend looking elsewhere.

Also, both me and my husband, asked you, individually, why your experts weren't there. So we did question you. But when you told us our builders didn't allow it, we were shocked and found out later, you hadn't asked. Not sure calling would resolve anything. Just sharing my opinion. We had builder grade gas logs that died. This led me to the discovery that repair or replacement of…read morea gas fireplace ia a somewhat niche business that Archer and very few others do. Archer was one of several quotes - and be careful when dealing in this area- but came in as one of the lower ones. However, replacement of a gas fireplace is NOT a cheap project. Patrick Archer was our salesman and Sean did the work with one of his assistants. Watching the installation, I felt a bit better about the price tag - Sean was literally going in and out of a 10" by10" hole - multiple times - he is a human ferret. They pulled everything out including the exterior vent (the 10 x 10 hole), replaced the exterior siding, installed the new unit, fixed the drywall, hooked everything up to the gas line, and re-tiled. The work was excellent and was a lot more involved than I would have thought. The only complication was that initially the logs would not reliably light, but the company was responsive and sent out a tech who adjusted the positioning which fixed it (something about airflow). And we don't have the manual for the logs which makes the remote functionality a bit hit and miss sometimes since we don't have the instructions, but we're working on it and have a request in to the company. Recommended.

WOW!! This is our 4th (and likely final) home purchase, and we have never had a more thorough home inspector. Even though we are moving from out of state and could not be present for the inspection, Richard was willing to work with us. He went above and beyond our expectations. Richard did a complete and detailed inspection, and followed up with a complete and detailed report, which included numerous photos, descriptions and appliance model numbers. Richard spent hours inspecting every inch of the house from top to bottom, and gave us a very clear account of the repairs needed. We were especially impressed with how easy it was to read the report. Even though it was very detailed and descriptive, Richard color coded the issues and classified them as Major Issues, Minor Issues, Safety Concerns, and Maintenance Concerns. This enabled us to give the seller a detailed list of repairs needed prior to the completion of purchase. Richard is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Richard Dias has inspected two homes for us. The first because we found him on Angie's list and the second because we were so impressed with his work the first time. He is on-time, personable, thorough, and provided a timely report with many pictures. He did the inspection in the morning from 8:00 - Noon and provided our report by email that evening. He checks everything ~ even goes up on the roof. He categorizes his findings by Good, Major, Minor, Safety, & Maintenance. I did a walkthrough when he was finished with the inspection and he showed me the problem areas and was very informative as to why the problem was there and had some recommendations as to how to correct it.
