Difficult to get any better on a summer night in Dijon. Great food , I had their signature salad and the filet de bar, the latter being one of the most creative preparations of a standard fish. Few by the glass wines but the Macon was a great pairing , why hide it in a long list. Cheese to finish with a red burgundy and finally an express Finally the terrace seating and attentive service - not normally seen together- made the eve. Web site and inline sites said it was fully booked. I walked up anyway and was seated quickly

This restaurant is situated on the most beautiful square in Dijon, the Place de la Libération. The entire area was restored to its glory to a French limestone jewelbox. It would be worth the price of admission just to sit there and watch the kids running into the fountains spouting out of the paving. However, the restaurant also faces the Palace of the Dukes which is, in my mind, equal in scale and beauty to the Louvre. The menu has just enough variety not to be overwhelming including typical dishes from the region. I ordered from the Price Frix menu which included choices selected from the most interesting dishes. Download the Google Translate App, snap a picture in it, and the menu comes to life. We started with the Jambon (ham) with mustard creme This is ham cured with parley covered with a Dijon Mayonnaise. Better than the description. Very tasty and unique. We went onto the Bar, this is a pan seared local fish covered with capers any crispy croutons. Interesting and delicious. Very fresh Finished with the chocolate lava cake with Carmel Ice creme. Well executed classic The service was French A+. Which means that they are kind, speak English, and are busy. We were there for 2 and 2 1/2 hours. This did not seem to bother us given the quality of the experience. I will say to bring you vaccine card. The staff was all wearing masks and well distanced. There was not a single customer wearing a mask but we were outside and the tables were separated enough.
