Update from my first review: It has been 12 years since my horse was hurt. 12 years of injections, massage, Chiro, special shoes and he's still not okay. We ended up having to retire him to pasture a little over 3 years (he was 16.5) due to on permanent long lasting damage from this ranch. I will NEVER forgive you Carol for ruining my Horse and ruining the life we could have had together. If you ever think I forgot what you did to my baby boy you are wrong. Board here at your own risk. If she is still the owner BEWARE. She knows nothing about horses and monetizes everything she can. My boyfriend took me to Prado Equestrian for my birthday and we had such an amazing time! This was my first time horse back riding and the staff were so friendly and helpful & definitely made it comfortable for us. I rode on Mikey, one of their ponies. (If you happen to get Mikey, beware - he likes to trot! They said he trots so that he keeps up during the trail rides) Scared the crap out of me at first, but ended up being a lot more fun than just walking. This is a walk-only trail ride so keep this in mind too. Prices were fairly reasonable - $30 per hour/person, $40 for 2 hours/person. I'll be reaching out fairly soon to get some lessons with one of the girls. It's always been on my bucket list of things to do and feel comfortable enough to do it with the girls at Prado. We had an amazing trail ride this morning with Brooklyn and Kayla! Loved the early 9 am ride. Brooklyn was very knowledgeable about Prado park and horses. My 9 yo had never been on a horse and in anticipation of an upcoming trip to Yellowstone we took her out for the first time. I had my horses boarded here for a few years while I was in college. The owner decided one day that she wanted to grate the walkways of the ranch and brought on site a dump truck without notifying the owners of the horses. She drove the dump truck down the isles and it scared my horse. he bolted and ran into his corral. He tore his hamstring and was laid up for over four months. He also tore the muscles in his back. The owner offered no compensation whatsoever and told me that it was my problem because my horse spooked. Fast forward five years my horse is still permanently injured. He has to have hock injections in order to be ridden. I was never able to show him because he permanently had a limp. We now cannot go on big long rides because he has permanent arthritis and fibrosis in his hamstring and back. I also used to take care of the rental horses that they had on site. The horses are ridden all day on Friday Saturday and Sunday and given the bare minimum as far as food is considered. Their shelter was little to none and in the winter when it rains they stand in pounds of manure and horse Pee mud. Well the barn manager always did her best the ranch owner showed nothing but neglect. I would never recommend that anyone support this business or board their horses here. You may end up losing a companion to the thoughtlessness of the inexperienced owner of this center. read more

I took my favorite 6 year old for a 30 minute hand led session and she was very happy! This might be the most calming and therapeutic experience ever for this little ball of energy. She rode Goldie and was led by a volunteer who was awesome. Everyone there was friendly and kind, super accommodating and all for $20. This little girl is hooked! She's planning her 7th Birthday there and it's 10 months away. We will be back for sure. Thanks for a perfect experience!!! read more

My son wanted to ride a horse for his ninth birthday with his buddy, so I brought them here. The receptionist that booked our appointment was very sweet, accommodating. You have to book with a credit card first, then when you get here they only except cash. They never run the CC, so don't worry about being charged twice. It was only supposed to be the two boys, but one of my older sons' plans fell through so I tried to book another horse for him to go along for the ride, I called and they said that they didn't have anymore horses available, so that was a bummer, but when we got here there were a few horses just hanging around. I, not knowing what goes into all the care and scheduling, asked why didn't they just let me have another horse? They told me that they do not over exhaust their horses. They made me understand that, and I walked away knowing that these animals are cared for in the right way! The only complaint I would have is that it is $5 for a bag of carrots and I think $3 for the apple (one). The bagged carrots are those kind your kids get with a school lunch, or the McDonald's happy meal. I paid $16, for 2 Small apples and two tiny bags of carrots. And we didn't get to feed much of it to the horses, they were kind of stand offish when my son was asking to feed the horses, these extremely expensive treats. Again, I understand why...they are living horses and it's probably not a good idea to keep feeding them every time someone bought these treats, but then again who would be so stupid to buy these "extremely expensive treats", lol!! Me We are coming back again, tho no more treats!! read more

Last minute, the family wanted to go for a horse ride. Called around but all were booked EXCEPT for this place. The lady was very professional and accommodating and booked a time for the same day. Our guide was a young lady who knew a wealth of information about the area. The horses were very calm and docile. Great price, clean area and enjoyable ride. Will return!! read more

I love Prado for so many reasons. The arenas and turn out space are well kept and safe for my older horse to romp around in and the trails are great too for my younger horse. Staff and managers are in tune with boarders and quick to help when needed. Very friendly group of boarders and staff in general. Something I've really appreciated recently is how well this place does in the rain! Arenas are useable very quickly after rain and the trails too. Great place to board your horse! read more

I board my horse here and have had friends and family come here for trail rides and we always have a good time. As far as boarding, they are very very careful and concerned for your horses health and monitor them closely! The horses are all well cared for and staff is on top of it, friendly, and professional. Trail riding is very fun, staff is great, and they are very professional and take exceptional care of their trail riding horses. We made reservations and my friends got tacked up, shown the basics while I tacked up my own personal horse. They were done first and they didn't even start the "hour" until I was over there and ready to go which was very kind of them! We had a blast. The park is beautiful and amazing to ride in! There are lots of barn days and fun trail rides organized, and its very easy to communicate with the staff. The tack store has items if you need something in a pinch - for super great prices too! Also lots of goodies that are even better deals than online! Great if you need more fly spray or first aid or tail bags etc whatever you need is in there, plus a good selection of used saddles and tack. Overall this is a wonderful barn, well run and managed. They care about the horses in their care, and the owners and want everyone to be happy. They do a great job communicating via email or phone call or even text. If you are looking for a new barn, highly consider coming out to tour! Its no drama, lots of arena's and places to ride with amazing footing, a jumping arena, dressage arena, lots of trailer parking, several smaller arenas for round pen work or turnout. Firstly, horseback riding was open Sunday, contrary to Yelp. Next, the ride was very affordable and worth every penny, only $25 for an hr per rider. They also pair you up with a horse according to your riding experience. Our experience for 3 ranged from very experienced to first time. Our guide was super friendly (he was a reserve, but I don't remember his name), and he engaged us throughout our ride. I've ridden quite a few times, but the patience and compliments they paid to my first time 8-yr-old rider was much appreciated. We will definitely be back! read more

Great place for a family outing! I wanted to get my family out of the house, so after googling horseback riding I came across this stables website. I was a little nervous since none of my family had ever ridden before and with 2 teenagers and a grumbling husband, wasn't even sure we'd have fun. But it was great! The horses were well fed and very well behaved. The trail was relaxing and easy. Great place for beginners who just want to get out and try something new. And who can beat 25$ for an hour price! I rode a happy little mare named Tubbs and she was a sweet heart, slow moving and happy just like me. Our guide was super friendly and very knowledgeable about horses, we made sure to ask lost of questions. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to try out trail riding! read more

My daughters took first time lessons with Serena . She was excellent with them especially since they were scared. They learned how to care, bathe and manicure the horses as well as the basics of riding. The stable was clean and well cared for. The other horse owners were very friendly. They host horse competitions which are fun to attend also. I would definitely recommend Prado Equestrian for anyone wanting to take riding lessons. The stable was recommended to us by a friend who rents horses frequently there. She was very impressed by their riding tours. read more

Not once but twice, I was stuck waiting an hour past my scheduled reservation time that was booked weeks in advance. They have a piss poor scheduling process and book rides back to back with no room for delays in between groups or rest for their horses. Every time I have been here the horses are tired and tripping over their own feet and the excuse every time is that they are due to have their hooves taken care of. Um yeah every time?? I think not! Serena was helpful after the first incident but the ranch owner Carol jumped to throw the blame on the animals for the second incident. Accept responsibility and change things to make your business better! read more

I drove all the way from Pasadena to be at Prado at 845am on a Saturday morning in order to take my dad horseback riding for Father's Day only to be flat our rejected for wearing shoes that had an open toe. Mind you that they were not flip flops or something with a heel but apparently still dangerous. I totally would have been okay with this rule if I was told about it when booking the excursion but I was not so I wasted gas and my time for no reason. I am not a new rider and have used the same type of shoes at other locations for the same type of 2 miles per hour ride where the horse stops every two seconds to graze and I can probably type this entire yelp review while sitting on top because that's how slow we are going. I would suggest that the owner follow up each reservation with an email or text message and indicate what the rules are prior to having customers drive 30 miles each way only to have to wait for an hour while everyone else is riding. On a side note, the riders in our group complained that the trail is 100% in the sun, there isn't much to see along the way and the fact that one of our more experienced riders was put on a horse that is a bit of a trouble maker and has to be in the back on the pack behind riders with zero experience who were shrieking in fear the entire time and slowing down his ride down to a virtual crawl. The one great thing is the price of $25 an hour which is a bargain. read more

Is the Public Welcome here or not?! Just left right now when i got this Loud, Rude "Excuse Me!! " from this tall, bossy type. i arrived and proceeded to go to the porta potty that i used there once before. she was out on the office patio, so i asked while walking, 'is the porta potty over here ?' she answered in a very unfriendly tone 'Yes the porta potty is over there ' I thought Wow, i'm sorry i asked. then as im done with that, i proceed to go over to the main arena, walking north, going around a truck, she was talking to someone inside, i get this LOUD, RUDE 'Excuse Me!! ' in a disrespectful tone, not a normal/neutral tone. she says the horses have a cold. i said i was going to the arena to watch. and she said about the horses having a cold still. after i said, and gestured that i was (only )going to the arena. this place needs an attitude adjustment toward the public. i didnt know if she wanted me to leave the whole dam place, or what. Havent been treated like dirt like this in quite awhile. read more
