One word, AMAZING!!! I love this place. I board my 2 horses here.! The owner here is definitely horses first and that's exactly what my horses need. She's also helped me with training my horses and helped me with tips along the way to better my horses. Her facility has it all, an arena, a hot walker, a wash rack for showering the horses, 2 round pens and great workers that help keep the facility in tip top shape.! It's a great facility if you'd like to board your horses and you love the "ranch" aesthetic like we do! She does have horses here that she's rescued and were well trained to be used for horsemanship/riding lessons and my girls are next in line to start their training with her. I can't say enough about Heaven's Ranch, they are awesome. My horse was there for 3 months for some training. Anne did a great job with both my horse and me. It's hard to leave your horse at a new facility but I felt so comfortable with Anne and the crew at Heaven's ranch. They take great care of the horses and everyone was so friendly and helpful. 10/10. Please read my story and if you're doing research for yourself or your children please don't try out other ranches in the area. Heaven's Ranch is your #1 choice and the best #1 option. I was taking other lessons in Norco at other well-known ranches, and as I continued to take those lessons I felt that after each lesson I was more confused about my own horsemanship and the way I actually looked riding that horse or what I was doing on it. A little background about myself; I'm a 24 year old single woman. My start to horsemanship started later than others that were more fortunate. I call this fulfilling a childhood dream that I was unable to achieve at that time, due to not enough financial wherewithal from my family and hectic work and school schedules that my parents had to build us a better future. My dream of being a consistent horse rider or even learning horsemanship was put to the side. Now that I graduated college and built a career for myself concurrently I had a moment to think about my goals and how I could better myself and fulfill my own personal desires. Back to taking those lessons at other ranches in Norco (NOT Heaven's Ranch) I couldn't help but notice the horses looked ill or malnourished. Their lesson horses were 15 years old and didn't move when riding because they were uncomfortable and not ready to work. Those trainers on their phones or talking to other staff and prioritizing other students during our private 1:1 session that i invested in. Do note, these trainers were often competing over the weekends so it's not that they didn't know how to correct me or teach me proper horsemanship, it's that they were so d**** lazy. Maybe it was also because I was a grown adult and they didn't have to make pretend in front of a parent or guardian that they decided to act that way during my private 1:1 lesson. If I couldn't trust myself around those trainers I would NOT trust my future kids around them. With Heaven's ranch it's the complete opposite. I have the pleasure of lessons with Anne the owner and professional horse trainer at Heaven's Ranch. Lesson 1, I didn't even know how to properly saddle my horse or pick it's hooves and Anne repeated this with me until I felt comfortable handing it on my own. The ranch is gritty, and not for those ultra-sensitive. Annee and the ranch hands will push you to the best and maybe tell you what you don't want to hear.. but it's to help you and make you a better individual who can handle a horse properly, safely and for the better of you. I truly feel more confident in my own skin after doing a lesson here and it's what gives me the urge to come back as often as I can. Riding is therapeutic and a great hobby for any age. Annee understands my goals and listens. I trust her because she tells me straight up what I need to do to lease and own a horse of my own one day: the work to get there is not for the weak! She helps me understand that it doesn't happen overnight and there's so much responsibility that goes into even being a consistent lessonee. I've been on the ranch to observe other lessons or overhear them working with the kids, and I did observe that they are stern and strict with the kids about the horse handling, while also guiding them to do duties around the barn and make them work when they ask for chores. It teaches them respect, and allows them to grow in their confidence and responsibility for sure. The kids respect the trainers and love the ranch. Another added bonus is that their property is beyond clean, tack room is organized and kept, there is plenty of PARKING that is not near the horses and easy to go in and out of the ranch, horses all look nourished and happy, they have 2 adorable little pups on the property who are friendly and sweet, multiple turnouts for horses, a horse-walker and multiple wash racks/grooming stations. Picnic benches and seats for the parents and guests. The barns are nicely organized and every horses stall is a safe haven for them. A small business like Heaven's Ranch is one to support in Norco, especially it being a non-profit business, everyone here loves the horses, and cares about their horsemanship. I took my two sons (ages 7 and 12) for their first riding lesson this week. The facility is very well run. All the animals from chickens to dogs and horses are all very well cared for. Safety of the kids and animals was top priority. The kids had the best time and couldn't wait to go back there next lesson. I have also taking a lesson here and I find that the instruction works at all ages and that there's a horse for every riding level. I am so fortunate to have found this place! As a mother of two young girls I could not have found a place who places the SAFETY of my children, adults, and horses alike as their number one priority. We love Heaven's Ranch! My sister and I have boarded our four horses at HR, both in the former Chino Hills location and now in Norco, for more than 11 years. Annee is the best- we always know that our horses are in great hands when we aren't there. It feels like one big family where everyone looks out for each other and for all of the horses, too. My daughter has been doing lessons with Alia for almost a year, and the lesson program is truly wonderful. This place needs to be exposed, my child and I have never been so disrespected in our lives. As boarders we would ride our OWN horses (minding our own business) and were constantly told what we were doing "wrong", even though we ride a different discipline. My girl was told to "get off her horse" by a "trainer" who wanted to "show her how to ride" without even introducing herself (not in a lesson ever with them) and when she stood up for herself, she was told she needed to apologize! I was also told how "awful my horse is and why I would want to ride such a horse" and "I hope you didn't pay much for her!" Constant disrespect while just minding our own business when we've been riding for over 10 years with great horses that we adore. As a boarder, don't expect to find any space to ride in the arena because they only have 1 small arena and you are second to constant lessons! Sadly after I left, I've heard similar stories of disrespect mostly to children and left for the same reasons we did! Sadly their insults usually go towards innocent children just trying to ride and when they saw a kid who knows how to ride they saw her as someone to "push down" due to their own low self esteem! Think twice before lessoning or boarding at this facility, there are many more respectable places who won't try to destroy your self confidence and self esteem! Others will start to come forward as well!! Also, I want it noted that we left quietly and respectfully (on our own will with a written 30 day notice) without causing any type of conflict. However, word got back to us that the owner continued to be unprofessional, talk behind our back due to her own embarrassment , telling other boarders that we were "kicked out" which is factually incorrect. We left a whole months board on the table to just leave peacefully and pursue a happier atmosphere . Defamation of character is really unprofessional and extremely hurtful. I purchased a living social deal for $35 which included an hour ride for two people. All I can say is: what-a-bargain! Horse back riding on Heavens Ranch is such an awesome experience. Part of the reason that this ride is so enjoyable is simply because the trail is pretty long, with plenty to see--cows, hills, greenery, etc. I have to say that I would definitely do it again. My friends and I decided to purchase a LivingSocial deal to learn how to ride a horse. We were definitely looking forward to the experience. It took about five to six weeks of playing phone tag with this ranch to set up an appointment. Our lesson was over an hour and a half late. When we got there due to either a breakdown of communication or just plain ol' bad costumer service it took the ranch over an hour and a half to acknowledge that that we had finished filling out the basic paperwork and were ready for our riding lessons. Even after this, my friends and I were still willing to forgive the ranch's tardiness because we were very eager for our first riding lessons. But, because the owner and the staff member were extremely un-cordial and patronizing to us, my group and I decided to lose out on the money we spent on the LivingSocial deal and just leave. I've been a boarder at Heaven's ranch for years now and it's wonderful. It's the people who really make the place "Heaven." The ranch staff and fellow boarders- everyone is family and takes care of each other. I love that it's not a high strung competition barn and things are low key there. The facilities are good and lots of trail access. If I had to say something constructive it would be that the trails are multi-use so sometimes they are a shooting range or occupied by motorcycles and ATVs. They always put up signs though to let boarders know. Overall, I'd highly reccomend this place to keep your happy horse at. Great ranch! read more

I bought a groupon for a 60 minute trail ride for two, making the appointment date was easy, getting there was a different story. Not sure if it was the new maps on the iPhone iOS 6 but it kept sending us to a dead end street. Once we found the place, it was worth the experience. Please look at the reviews and take them with a grain of salt. All of first 5 reviews are detailing a single incident at the ranch. I am Sonja J.'s husband and was at the ranch on that Saturday too. It was our lesson that caused the other 4 to be over an hour late. There was clearly a communication breakdown, but I was not in earshot of what actually was said. By the time the 4 individuals made there way to the arena where I was, with the owner and staff, it was clear that everyone was frustrated. What I did see was that one individual was not dressed appropriately for horseback riding. While there may not have been a "dress code", they certainly should have applied a little common sense. Three of them had on jeans. Unfortunately, it was the fourth one that was not dressed properly. I have no idea what she was wearing, but appeared skin tight and possibly a thin material. Enough of that, what I would recommend is to not base your decision on these 6 reviews, as they are all concerning a single incident. The ranch is a very busy working ranch and they have taught me to be comfortable on a horse. I came in with ZERO experience and have enjoyed every lesson so far. I have been taught many things, most importantly though is to be comfortable on a horse and be able to control them to do what you want! I took a few lessons from this place and I can say they were worth the money. The trainers did a great job making sure I was on a good path to success. I paid for 5 lessons and It was worth the money as I learned a lot. The downside. I had a lesson planned and turns out I couldn't make it. So instead of just not showing up, I called and was going to reschedule. I couldn't get in touch with anyone. I called my trainer, I called the office yet no one would answer the phone. I understand others have lessons going on and what not. After about 20 minutes of trying I just left a voicemail on my trainers phone. Figuring everything was ok, I went on about my day. The next day I called to see if I could be squeezed in and I could which was good. However, no one got my voicemail so I was charged for a lesson I didn't receive. After that I decided I was going to look else where for lessons. I understand a no show gets charged but when someone simply doesn't check their phone or chooses to ignore it, that's kind of messed up. I even made sure I had the correct number as I called my trainer while I was standing next to her to make sure I had the right number. Sure enough, her phone started ringing. read more

I had a great time at Heavens Ranch over this past weekend! My boyfriend surprised me to go horseback riding there as a Xmas gift and I was giddy like a kid. I've never gone before and have been wanting to since I was a kid. This place is what it is, a RANCH. They are not here to entertain, put on a show, sell you something, etc. They run a ranch that takes care of horses and I think they love what they do, which is awesome. Once we got there and got all the paperwork out of the way, they matched up our horses to each person (and i think they based it off of personality because originally they were going to give this timid/shy girl the horse "Camanche" and then they gave it to me when they realized how more outspoken I was because Camanche was a little bit of a lazy butt so you really need to coax him to get him going, lol) And then we were off! The trail went up and down these grassy hills (note: in December its grassy, in the summer everything might be brown and dead) which was a bit intimidating at first, but I really enjoyed it. When you were at the top, you saw great views of the whole San Bernardino county, it was really lovely. I'd highly recommend going there, they were very knowledgeable and horse-loving people, which made the experience all the better. read more

My 11 year old daughter has taking lessons here for about 4 years now. She absolutely loves Heavens Ranch! The ranch is so beautiful and my daughter always makes the comment that "this really is Heaven!" It is surrounded by beautiful hills and there are cows, birds, and of course horses, all around the property. The "local" dogs all run around and come up to you for belly rubs and kisses. You can tell that Annee takes pride in her ranch because everything is so clean. The horses stalls are all well taken care of and so are the grounds. Laura, my daughters trainer is so wonderful with her. Laura has taught her so much in a very loving and patient way. She is amazing and I would definitely recommend her to anyone who is looking to give their child riding lessons. The staffs love of horses is evident when you walk around the ranch and see the horses that have been neglected, starved and abused that Heavens Ranch has rescued and taken in to rehabilitate. It is so amazing when you see these same horses several months later and they look like well fed,well loved , beautiful horses.' I just bought an one hour deal for 4 people off of living social yesterday and called today to make my reservation. I really do not understand all the negative feedbacks, because the lady answered the fon on the first ring and she was very nice. She checked the date I wanted and booked our reservation for us for next month. She also told me to print out the directions because there is no cell service up there and my GPS might not work properly. I cannot wait to bring to my family for a day of fun to this ranch and then off to eat dinner somewhere close by. It is a working ranch and not Disneyland with hundreds of people working there. Oddly enough, I was in the middle of a lesson when the previous reviewer and her group came onto the ranch. I honestly have nothing bad to say about her or her group. What I witnessed was a complete breakdown in communication on both sides. I originally bought a Living Social coupon for both my husband and myself, and we enjoyed the lesson so much that we purchased a package of 12 lessons (the Saturday this occurred was the 7th lesson we've had at the ranch). When you purchase a deal at Heaven's Ranch, go into it with this thought: This is a working ranch. The people running the office have a hard time staying in the office because there are lessons to be conducted and horses to tend to. I have been relatively sucessful with emailing them, but they may take a few days to answer. If you call, leave a message, it's hard to catch them in the office. All the people we've met there are friendly, so if you're trying to track someone down, ask! I know it's not exactly how we're used to doing things nowadays, but it's how it works at the ranch. The major issue that cropped up (and I did personally overhear the discussion) was the style of pants the previous reviewer was wearing. There was a debate between whether or not they qualified as jeans, which are required to prevent possible bruising or injury to the rider. It was a safety issue, and Heaven's Ranch takes safety and the treatment of their horses VERY seriously (trust me, I've been chastised on more than one occasion for slipping up and doing something stupid). The reviewer was understandably irrate about not being helped, and then the issue about the jeans put her up over the top. I can see how a scheduled "fun" day was not very fun for her. I was disappointed that she wasn't able to have the same experience that I had. Give them a shot, and you can form your own opinion. read more

My 9 yr old daughter and I went to several ranches. All were very expensive and very pretentious. Such is the way of English riding ranches. We found Heavens Ranch and it was a straight western throwback. Met Jack who praised the ranch and said if cowgirls did it in the past then that's what my daughter will learn. We felt like it was the perfect place for us. Following week we met the owner Annie who is just a straight forward, awesome gal. My kind of gal... I paid $420 FOR 12 LESSONS. I'm sad to see so many one star reviews bc it's misleading and overall does not do this place justice (esp since all the bad reviews are regarding one specific incident). In no way am I implying that the reason for the bad reviews is not legitimate, just that I don't think it's the way this place is run all the time. I purchased the groupon for 3 lessons. I am TERRIFIED of heights and told the lady over the phone and she was very understanding. She assured me that they get all kinds of people with all kinds of concerns and not to worry. Laura is my instructor and so far she has been phenomenal. So patient with me and the fact that getting on and off my horse has been my biggest accomplishment so far (hey, for me that is HUGE). I love the fact that I get to brush and take care of my horsie before i saddle him up, it really adds to the whole experience.
