My wife Tammy & I just moved back to Texas from Florida and had planned on finding a builder who could build us a home we could both afford and be pleased to own. We learned this could be a difficult process unless you were fortunate enough to find some really good people to help you out. And if you don't believe me try scheduling your own bull dozer for land work and engineers for permits and making all that process happen the way you want it to... A family member casually mentioned that there was a place called Pratt Homes in Tyler that they had heard about as having excellent quality homes. As we live in Kilgore we decided to go have lunch and see what Pratt homes had to offer. I took my secret weapon, my brother in law, who is a builder, own owns a company that builds custom homes in Colorado. So he's walking around tapping on walls, looking in places I wouldn't have thought of and came up with the conclusion that Pratt Homes, built homes like he did, with very high quality and workmanship, and he gave us his 100% go ahead on Pratt Homes. Next, we had several people who knew buyers who shared how happy they were with their new home, kind of like when you buy a car and then every 3rd car is that car... everyone from contractors, to the survey comnpany knew about Pratt Homes and said, they have a great reputation. We really liked our sale person, Lori Bragg because first of all, I told her our budget and the first three homes she showed my wife and I were all less than the amount I told her. So it was not a big sales and upsale and pressure thing, it was a how can I help you find the perfect home for a price you could afford, thing. Next, Lori and Mr Pratt were never one time, high pressure, not one time, instead they were friendly and knew their stuff, Lori knows homes and never once got stumped by my barage of questions. ( good job ). Finally, Yesterday we closed on our beautiful new home, my wife's eyes are shining, she is happy... Mamma's happy, the whole family is happy right! So now they are building our brand new home fully customized to be the perfect home for us. This is our 3rd home but our first, "we got to build it" home and I have to tell you, Lori being nice and knowledgeable, the quality being equal or above, the multiple other builders we looked at and the price being significantly less than other builders have made this a wonderful experience for my wife and I. Want a new home? Want nice smart people to help you get thru all the paperwork and process of getting a new home? Want it just like you want it? Want it at a good price? Then I strongly recommend Pratt Homes and our new friend Lori Bragg so your family ends up in a dream home instead of just a place to live. I have been looking for a new home and decided to give Pratt Homes a try. I have been to other home builders such as Palm Harbor and let me tell you Pratt Homes was a much better experience. The sales man I spoke to Aaron was extremely knowledgeable. I was upfront that I'm not in the position to buy today and he said that is OK! He still took the time to show me homes that would fit my needs. I talked to Krista in finance who was extremely nice and helpful. I told her the home I was looking for and she gave me a run through of the finance process and what to expect once I choose a home and even after the loan closes. She seemed very knowledgeable about all avenues of finance and the process. She knew I wasn't ready but she gave me an idea what I need to do so when I'm ready in the very near future I have everything ready to jump on the loan process. The homes are spectacular! You feel like you are walking through a site build home. I can't wait to have my land ready to put a Pratt Home on! I recently purchased a Tiny Home for my Mother from Pratt Homes in Tyler. With my Dad recently deceased we were downsizing and putting my Mom on our property. Naturally my Mom was sad leaving her home and moving but the staff at Pratt Homes were so kind and had so much patience with her that it made the day a wonderful experience. They showed us several different homes with the requirements that we needed. The whole process was a little daunting however with the sales staff and the finance department taking care of us it went very smoothly. The service staff was very helpful in getting everything set up on our property and they took care of us all along the way. My Mom has been in her beautiful new home for six months now and we have had absolutely no problems. Thank you again for turning a sad day to a happy one. My husband and I went today & we were Leary due to the reviews but had a awesome experience with our housing consultant Lori Bragg. We were invited inside to sit down with her and we told her what we were looking for in a home and she showed us around giving us lots of helpful information. Then we went back to her office and she explained how everything works and what to expect during the process. Please don't let the bad reviews detour you from stopping by and giving them a chance. Also she mentioned Saturdays are there most busiest times so it may be best to schedule appointment prior to your Saturday visit. I recently moved into my new Pratt Modular Home and i could not be happier. This entire process from start to finish has been as headache free as i could have wished for and i have bought many homes in my life. After living in it for over a month i was shocked to see my first energy bill. They were not lying when they said these homes are built to save you money! I have never seen such a low energy bill in my entire life. The home is beautiful too! I could not have chosen a better place to build my dream house. I can't believe how different my experience was then some of these reviews. I had an amazing experience from start to finish. I had to wait on my first visit but every salesperson had someone in their office so i understood. Once I was being helped I had the full focus of my salesman. We only needed to see 2 homes before we found the perfect one he had listened to me so well. There was no pressure after the fact. The ladies in the finance department do a great job explaining everything so you know what is going on. I may write another review after purchasing a Pratt Home but for now I want to comment on the reviews I've just read regarding customer service. We drove to Tyler to see the Pratt Home models and our experience was much different than the negative comments I just read. The sales people were all very friendly and helpful. We were shown everything we wanted to see and treated very well. Since the visit I have emailed the sales rep with hundreds of questions. He has always responded right away and has answered every question. If he is an example of their customer service then they get a five star rating. read more

A year ago I purchased a lovely home from Pratt Homes in Tyler and from the Sales person to the Service department, everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. The complete process from purchasing to the set up went very smoothly and any concerns were handled efficiently and quickly. This company has it all. The homes are beautiful, set up with furnishings and art so you can see just how they'll really look, and Pratt has a gigantic sales team to help you find the perfect one. We looked at several homes from different builders to match just what we needed all in one stop.
