    Best Budget Flooring & Remodeling

    Best Budget Flooring & Remodeling

After a refrigerator leak caused water damage to our engineered hardwood floor, I called three…read moredifferent flooring companies for an estimate on either a repair or replacement. Due to the age of the floor, and the unavailability of the existing floor product, we had to do a complete replacement. My wife and I were most impressed with Michael Yanez, owner of Best Budget Flooring and Remodeling, so we chose his company for our wood floor replacement. We couldn't be more impressed with the entire process. Best Budget replaced our engineered hardwood with luxury vinyl flooring. It only took Michael's flooring and painting teams three days to complete the project. The floor is approximately 1000 square feet. They moved all of our furniture, hung plastic to prevent dust from invading the rest of our home, removed the quarter round, removed the old floor, sanded and prepped the foundation, installed the new floor, repaired the water damaged baseboards, installed new quarter round, painted all of the baseboards, cleaned up after themselves, and moved all furniture to exactly where we wanted it. We were blown away with how quickly the project was completed. My wife and I absolutely love our new floor. Michael and his team were knowledgeable, professional and very courteous. Michael visited our home several times throughout the three days to make sure everything was going well. I couldn't be more impressed, and we would absolutely use Best Budget Flooring again. We highly recommend this outstanding company.

BUYER BEWARE -- the name "Budget" reflects the quality. I trusted the 5‑star reviews, but do not be…read morefooled. The only positive was the crew, and even then they left early on day one; they could have finished the job that same day had they worked until 6pm. Instead, I had to waste another day. Before the crew even left my house, Michael rushed over for payment, clearly eager to get his check. I had not inspected the floors yet, including a closet cut too short -- which explains why he wanted payment before I could see the issues. He pushed these floors as "kid and pet friendly," yet they cannot be mopped and require Bona only. He even suggested puppy pads "in case my dogs have accidents," despite my dogs being fully house‑trained. These floating floors were never explained to me until the job was complete. I had no idea they would feel soft, make noise, or click underfoot. One plank even sinks when stepped on, but Michael insisted this was "normal." It is not normal for planks to visibly move or make clicking sounds. His arrogance made it impossible to have a reasonable conversation, so I called a reputable builder to inspect the floors. I was told I could paint the shoe molding beforehand to match my baseboards, but the crew installed white shoe molding anyway -- badly cut, uneven, and now requiring painting. Worse, they left deep gashes in my baseboards and filled some with putty without sanding, making the damage obvious. My baseboards are not white, so every flaw stands out. Michael offered nothing to fix the damage except asking me not to leave a bad review. When I pointed out areas around door casings that never had shoe molding and now looked worse after the original floors were removed, he dismissed it as "just an eyesore" and "not a floor issue." Multiple realtors, including my own, said it absolutely needed to be fixed. His attitude changed only when I mentioned including it in my review; suddenly he suggested caulk as a possible fix. I still haven't inspected every room because furniture is in the way. I'll have to wait for painters and a new flooring company to determine whether there is a subfloor issue, because floors should not crack, bend, or sink. The squishy sound may be something I'm stuck living with. Now I must hire painters to redo over 800 square feet of shoe molding, baseboards, and door casings -- all because his crew left them damaged or unfinished. I gave him the chance to make it right, but he refused accountability. When he asked me to pay extra for materials, I agreed even though I didn't have to. Yet he showed no professionalism, belittled my concerns, and brushed me off. His parting words were "thanks for your business." He is by far the worst person I have ever dealt with professionally. I will never use this company again and will warn anyone I know not to use them. A good business owner should be humble, take responsibility, and fix mistakes -- even when it affects profit. A happy customer becomes a repeat customer, and he has ensured he will never receive repeat business from me.

I hired Emilio Flooring after seeing positive online reviews and after their estimator represented…read morethat the floor could be restored back "just like it was before." Before I paid the deposit and before work started, we signed an agreement/SOW that required them to replace warped hardwood planks on the first floor, inspect all first-floor flooring surfaces for warped/damaged/nonconforming planks requiring replacement, prepare the entire first-floor surface, stain new hardwood planks, and repolish the entire first floor to professional standards. The estimate also included a 192 quantity line item for unfinished hardwood material. Based on that, I understood this would address the affected first-floor planks and restore the floor to a uniform professional finish, not leave a small unfinished patch. That is not what happened. The replacement boards were left visibly lighter and unfinished/unblended, with significant gaps between replaced planks and the existing floor. The work was not completed or accepted under the signed agreement. I would not recommend hiring Emilio Flooring. The original completion deadline was May 14, 2026, and after more than seven weeks we still have not been able to reach a resolution. They have stopped responding with any clear written commitment. In my view, the combination of unresolved workmanship issues, the missed completion deadline, stopped communication, and lack of a clear written resolution makes them too risky to recommend.

My dishwasher unknowingly leaked under my tile for a YEAR because Emilio refused to tile under…read morewhere the dishwasher goes. They tried to say "we never move dishwashers to tile under them." The dishwasher wasn't there when they did the floors and they know that. I asked the guy what's supposed to happen if the dishwasher leaks if there is no tile under it and he replied, "It's not supposed to leak." By the way, they said they have no record of being at my house OR my sister's house they did around the same time so I guess the guy Jose just took the $7,000 and kept it for himself. I called another company to come fix this mess because Emilio came by and said they're not going to warranty anything (even though this is all their fault) and I would rather use anyone other than them at this point and they don't deserve another dime.
