Absolutely do NOT sign with this company. Their contract is a trap. The fine print is deliberately written to lock you in, very much like a predatory car loan, and once you sign, getting out is nearly impossible. The terms are buried, unclear, and overwhelmingly one-sided. They make it easy to sign and nearly impossible to leave. This feels intentional and unethical. Customer flexibility does not exist, and transparency is nonexistent. I regret ever doing business with them and strongly warn others to stay far away unless you enjoy being stuck in a contract you can't escape. read more

I used to think Pratt was great! Suddenly under the new owners they informed me I had to put my trash on neighbors side of road? Due to a driver that feels unsafe on my dead end street. After using Pratt Trucking for 3 years for trash removal from one of my properties, I had to let them go for multiple issues over a short period of time. Some of their drivers go "rogue" by tossing trash and barrels around the property. Customer Service and Management have little to no communication with the field so these kinds of issues never get tackled. I called after each incident and while I got a genuine apology, nothing was ever done and my issues were never escalated. As a result, I let them go; and I was forced to pay over $500 to exit my "contract". Remarkable that I had to be the one to pay to get away from an incompetent company. Please. Go with someone else - there are lots of options that take customer service seriously and don't wait for a customer to leave before showing concern. read more

I was never on auto pay of any sort but they did have my credit card on file for payment. They took a payment out, an UNAUTHORIZED payment at that for $76.00 2 months AFTER I sold my house and had cancelled my service. Called today to inquire and was told they are too busy to look into this today. maybe I'll get a call back tomorrow. Amazing. read more

We have been customers of Pratt for many years. We are extremely happy with them. We have been to the business a few times and met the owners and many of the other folks who work for Russ and Erin. Russ has retired now, but still very much a part of the business with his lovely daughter Erin. They run a professional business and take extreme pride in it, and the way they treat there employees and customers. They even have pink trash buckets with the breast cancer symbol on it. Customers who request these buckets pay a little bit more/month and that money is donated to the cancer society. Awesome !! I highly recommend these folks. Anytime we have a load of household appliances, etc., we know we can bring it to Pratt to get rid of it.. read more

I googled Pratt's Website after the last storm to see how my scheduled pick-up might change with the bad weather. Yelp came up first, and I saw a couple 1-star Ratings. After reading the unhappy posts, I felt a bit bad for Pratt. It occurred to me that I have been a satisfied Pratt Residential customer for nearly 20 years and I've never thought to post on Yelp or other sites to share my experience. FOR 20 YEARS, THIS COMPANY HAS BEEN TO MY HOUSE IN DUDLEY EACH WEEK, CONSISTENTLY AND WITHOUT ISSUES. Think about that for a moment - That represents over 1,000 pick-ups for trash and half as many for recycling. They missed a few dates due to weather, but they picked up the day after. Their rates have increased over the 20 years, but I still feel they are a value. If you are looking for a residential trash hauler, do not be put-off by a few angry customers. I expect for every one of them, there are a hundred people like me who are happy to do business with this company because they are reliable and consistent. In today's world it is hard to find a locally-owned business that performs well generation after generation. I trust Pratt trucking, and expect you will too. read more

They have been an absolute pleasure to do business with. I used to have dumpster service at my rental home. You would think that having a dumpster picked up once a month would be no big deal. This was not the case with the national company I contracted with prior to switching to Pratt. I called on the phone, spoke with a very nice lady in customer service (wish I could remember her name, then again, I can barely remember my own), and got all of my questions answered and set up service professionally and pleasantly in less then fifteen minutes. She called me back when she said she would and the container was delivered as promised. It really couldn't be handled any better then it was. My only gripe is that paying on line on their website is a bit of a pain but maybe that's just me. Still my experience to date has been a positive one. read more

I was interested I signing up with Pratt because they do curbside recycling. Called and spoke with Cheryl, who told me we had to cancel with our current trash collector before they would take us on. Had our trash bin taken away and called back a couple days later to confirm with Pratt, per Cheryl's instructions. "Yeah your road is too small," she told me. Our previous conversation was: as long as it's not a dirt road we can service you. I do not live on a dirt road. I pointed out that we'd talked about this and how I'd cancelled my previous service in order to have Pratt take us on, therefore I'm left with no trash company at all. "No, I would have never told you this." I explained that I wouldn't have put myself out like this with no trash pickup unless I was instructed because it initially didn't make sense. I told her two other trucking companies come down our street to pick up our neighbor's trash. She told me as though I was out of my mind that their trucks are bigger than the other companies because of an extendable arm. Excuse me for not being fluent enough with the trash pickup business to have this knowledge base of truck sizes as compared to the streets they service, Cheryl. It would have been nice for you to indicate this to me before I found myself without any service at all. read more

I have been with pratt trucking for 4 years and Always have had great service from them... i called the other day to see about some couches i needed to get rid of... Pratt wants 70$...OMg are they mad!..... after doing some reasearch i found another trash company that offered free bulk pickup and a MUCH lower rate....by like $30 a quarter. When i called to Cancel with pratt the woman who always answers the phone was VERY rude... not only asking me who i went with and how much my new rates are.... but literally Bashing the other company about hidded fees and bad service and in an impundent voice informed me that , "I'll be back!" ......UM no matter what happens witrh my new trash Company... I wont ever use pratt again.....ur customer service skills suck!!!! read more

Caution when signing up with Pratt Trucking. They tell you that you are locked into a 1 year contract with them. Which is all fine and dandy. Then after the 1 year they automatically sign you into a 3 year contract which you wouldn't know unless you have a magnifying glass and read over all the small fine print which limited people do (admittedly I was one in this case) Then if you want out of the contract you need to pay all 3 year in order to get out of it. Not to mention when I first signed up with them it took them 3 weeks in order for them to give the barrels. And during that time they told me to just leave the trash out and they will pick it up. Never happened. They have missed trash bags left in the barrels. And if you ever get a chance drive down a street that Pratt usually picks up on, you will find trash flying around everywhere. This company obviously doesn't care about their job or reputation, and to be honest since it is a family run company that makes me sick. Every family run company I know of take pride in what they do with an exception to here. The one thing I will say positive about Pratt is when you call the staff in friendly. But save yourself some time and money and if you are in the Northbridge area go with Tom Berkowitz Trucking. Friendly staff and much lower prices. I am wishing I knew about Tom before I got locked into a contract I didn't even know about. read more

My quarterly payment was a month late. I find their online payment system never functioning accurately to allow an online payment. Not only did I receive a $25 late fee, but they did not pick up our trash and recycling. There was no communication that they would not service us. When I called to ask for pick up from the men still on my street, and offered to pay by credit card on the spot, the woman refused as it was "not part of policy" to clearly accommodate a customer. I cancelled on that day and have moved to EL Harvey. They offered to pick up my trash TOMORROW free of charge in Pratt's bins! Pratt will also charge for ANY additional trash not in the bin - $10-25 for a large box left on the side - EL Harvey does not do this. Positive notes: the trash pick up was timely & routine. Communication on any changes to delivery were good. I never had any issues w/ pick up. read more

We have been customers of Pratt for many, many years for our trash removal needs. We recently moved and have to rent a dumpster and called to question about leaf removal for the new town we moved to. The person who answers the phone is impatient, sharp tongued and annoyed with everything that I have asked or needed. I leave the phone conversations feeling badly that I ever called for help and will be looking for alternate service from another company. read more

Customer service that rivals that of Charter Communications! Their head woman in the office is rude and condescending. I have been a customer since 2011 for curbside pick up. One week their "new driver" forgot to pick up the recycling. When I called to inquire about it, I was informed there was nothing they could do, I'd have to wait another 2 weeks for pick up. No other offer, no sincere apology. Then I get a very snotty voicemail from their customer service lead saying that I now had to put the barrels on opposite sides of the driveway because it's confusing to the drivers! I deducted the $7.25 on the next bill for the missed week and was billed for it later. I called to talk about it and ultimately decided to cancel service after another lovely call with the office person. She advised me that the contract I signed in 2011 was for a year and after a year, it automatically renews for 3 years, so I was not allowed to cancel until 2015! I told her that I would not be paying so don't pick up the trash and was informed I'd be taken to court. Pratt is so terrible that they have to force people into a 4 year contract just to have any market share. I just signed on with Casella, it may be $5 more a month, but their customer service is great and guess what - NO contract! read more

Extremely rude customer service and unreliable pickup. Every trash day I feel a wave of dread because there's a good chance we will get missed (again). I once again found our bin on the curb, untouched, probably because I was, again, given the wrong information (I'm finding a pattern of "says one thing but does another" with the pickups. This week I was told my pickup would be on Saturday so I put out the bins on Friday evening and left them there, and Sunday night... one is still untouched. I've reached the point where I'm not even surprised), but I'm so aggravated and exhausted at this point (and quite frankly unnerved by the toxicity of one of the customer service representatives), that I don't have the strength to go through more hours of nastiness, being jerked around, ignored, and lied to over the phone anymore. Every week I have to box-in my tiny parking spot (I can't get in or out of my parking spot without having to move the bins back and forth, including my neighbors' bins as well, because the curb in front of my parking spot is the only place we can put them; it's either that or have it block the entrance to the apartment or block my neighbors' cars in... and I'm disabled so it's a real treat!!!) with the bins in order to meet their standards, and even then it doesn't get picked up. I just have to hope that maybe next time will be better, since I currently cannot switch due to my living situation. But after the way I was treated, I'm very doubtful. I also keep finding garbage scattered along the edges of the street, at the end of multiple driveways with pratt bins. I guess we're expected to clean up the road after their messy pickups. i have been with pratt trucking ever since they started picking up trash that is many years. Last week i had my trash out and one of the neighbors visitors parked in front of my trash barrel so he would not get out off the truck to get it.So i called the company and this so called nice lady told me to tell my neighbors to tell there visitors not to park in front off my trash can .This is a public street they can park any where they want and i can not stop them.So the next week i put my trash barrel over by my fence i go out to leave and he put the barrel right in back off my car so i would have to move it before i could leave So he picked up the barrel and drove forward to put it in back of of car . was this out of spite from last week when he had to come back and get it.i was told the drivers can not get out their trucks well things happen that are not are fault.
