I really enjoyed the choir at this service. Kudos to them. A beautiful holy water font is there once you walk in the church. The nave is pretty long but the speaker system does a good job of projecting towards the back. Some of the pews have an obstructed view from the pillars. But don't sweat, those areas have TV's broadcasting the mass! Should I really rate a church anything less than 5 stars? I may have to say a Hail Mary after posting this. But in my defense, the parking and traffic are pretty terrible. I know St. Matthews has traffic cops before and after mass. I have no idea if St. Luke's has any. If they don't, they definitely need too!

Five great things I like about MV, and one drawback where the church has room to grow…read more 1. Great environment -- welcoming, warm, and, most importantly, NOT pushy at all. Felt free to be as involved, or uninvolved, as I wanted, without the usual guilt trips I've received from other churches. 2. Great children's ministry -- they hire licensed daycare professionals to watch your kids while you're in service, free of charge. 3. Great philosophy -- decentralized leadership, which reduces the likelihood that the church will revolve around one charismatic ego. This, in turn, makes it easier to trust that the sermons are about God, not about the pastor/music leader/youth group, etc. 4. Great music -- the instrumentation is somewhat limited due to lack of equipment and rotating music leadership (remember it's de-centralized); however, the songs are well chosen, and the band works well together, in all configurations! 5. Great small groups & programs -- there's something for most, if not all, demographic groups that constitute the congregation. For instance, there's men's group, women's group, youth groups, young parents' group, and others. MV also has wonderful outreach programs, e.g., homeless outreach, overseas missions, opportunities to attend conferences, seminars, and so on. There is one area where the church still has some room to grow and that is as follows. 6. Location -- MV does not have a dedicated building; they conduct services in the conference room at the DoSeum downtown. This is not by any means a bad thing, but be aware of some of the disadvantages. 6.1. The lack of a dedicated building gives the church a kind of "transient", impermanent feeling. This can be an adjustment for the newcomer, especially, maybe, for one who come from a church background. 6.2. Services can only last an hour, because that's how much time the church has paid rent for, which means that services can occasionally feel rushed. This isn't necessarily so bad, though: at least the pastor can't get long-winded. I hope MV can get a building some day soon. That wasn't enough to dissuade me, however. Overall, this is one of the best churches I've ever attended. Big standouts are the welcoming atmosphere and the ego-free leadership. Worth a shot!

Every person involved in the day so professional; it made the day so enjoyable! We cannot thank Tracy enough for making our wedding and planning such a great experience! She completely captivated all of the children, and our daughter absolutely lost her mind with excitement seeing Belle walk in. It truly felt like a little piece of magic stepped right into our home. Every detail of the visit was so thoughtful and greatly done. The entire hour was beautifully organized and filled with thoughtful activities -- mini makeovers, interactive storytime, dancing, photos, and a coronation ceremony that made our birthday girl feel incredibly special. Seeing the joy on my daughter's face when she was crowned with her tiara while surrounded by her family and friends is a moment I will never forget and will carry in my heart forever. What meant the most to me as a mom was how genuinely kind, patient, engaging and loving Belle was with every single child. She made each of them feel included and important. She took her time with them, made them feel seen, and created such a warm, joyful atmosphere. You could tell this isn't just a performance -- there is real care behind what they do. As parents, we hope to give our children special memories they will cherish, and this was truly one of those moments. Our daughter has not stopped talking about how Belle came to her birthday party, and the look on her face during that hour is something I will never forget. It meant the world to her. Thank you for helping make her 5th birthday so incredibly magical and unforgettable.
