We used two different companies in cherry hill before this company and two companies in Philly before that abd without a doubt happy tails of south jersey by Cara Ruth was the best. Cara ruth manages the company, all dog walker assignments matching it to the personality of your dogs. One of our dogs was a bit more challenging to get to walk than the other. Her team members were kind, patient and thoughtful with both dogs- we worked with Lauren, Kara, Justine, and Julie. They were all great. Pricing is reasonable as well! The online app they have is a great way to schedule, communicate (in private w Cara or in public with the team). We used them for private dog walks for both our dogs 2-3 times a day but they also do group walks which could be great for social and physically active dogs. I decided to look at options in the NJ/Philadelphia area. I have never boarded my pup before and was very nervous about it, for multiple reasons. 1) I don't think it's ever easy for anyone to leave their fur baby, 2) our pitbull is leash reactive and barks at other dogs on a leash- we are actively getting him training, but it's something he is still working on. I was nervous to take him to a boarding place in fear that they wouldn't be understanding with my dog. I heavily researched boarding options in NJ/Philly and found Lakeside. I inquired on their website about the dates I needed boarding and heard back quickly that those dates were available. I gave them a call and they were SO kind and answered all of my questions and expressed an understanding about my pup and his behavior- they said something along the lines of "we are very used to barking dogs- it's not something we are worried about at all", which made me feel relieved. Our pup, Axel, doesn't bark at dogs unless they are on a leash, but I was still worried. We had to leave a deposit in order to reserve our stay, which was no problem. Dropping him off was a breeze. I just called and let them know I was here and we took him to the drop-off/pick-up area. I gave them Axel's prepacked food, his blanket, and some toys. They encouraged us to give them a call whenever we wanted to check-in on him and they let us know they would post on Facebook the next day with some photos. Keep in mind... this was my first time dropping off my pup at a boarding place. So I was nervous. I called MULTIPLE times, and they NEVER made me feel bad about calling and always took the time to go check on him and give me the most up-to-date information on how he was doing. This eased my mind so much. I love that this kennel offers the pup their own outdoor spot, in addition to their indoor space. I also love that they offer one-on-one time with staff for an additional charge. Axel is a rescue dog and he spent a lot of time in a kennel situation in the past- so I wanted to make sure he got some one-on-one lovin' and attention. I was able to schedule Axel to get 3 walks with staff over the weekend, which I am sure he loved. Picking him up was a breeze and Axel clearly had relaxed a lot since his initial arrival- he was jumping all over the staff, giving them kisses- he clearly loved them :) The prices here are SUPER reasonable. It was under $100 for two nights and multiple walks. I am so glad we went with Lakeside :) If I find myself needing boarding in NJ again, I know exactly where I will go!

Our female dog has a collapsed trachea and enlarged heart which causes her to cough often when put into stressful situations like vet visits. When we arrived at their office today, 10/28/23 @ 4PM, she was once again stressed and the extremely rude receptionist, Kim Champion, asked my wife and I to stand outside because our dog was too loud and thought she might be contagious. When I explained to her that she was in respiratory distress and had an appointment for her condition, she told me that we still needed to stand outside. Dr. Kaplan also chimed in and said she sounded terrible and needed to go outside. She has sounded like this for over a year and Kaplan and staff know this! We could have waited comfortably in one of their many open patient rooms, but NO they insisted we stand outside!! This infuriated me and I stormed out! I couldn't fathom how individuals that are so nasty and lack any compassion for pets in distress can work in a veterinary office! Dr. Hanan is by far the only good one left at that office. We have been customers of this practice for 11+ years and have spent several thousand dollars there. I guess our loyalty and patronage means nothing to this staff. It is time to move on to a vet that actually cares about their paying customers and their pets. I love my dogs and I was angered at how we were treated! I should have handled the situation better, but there is no excuse for the disrespect and lack of professionalism shown by Champion and Kaplan! When I informed them that we were leaving their practice, Champion said "Whatever and good!" We should have known not to expect much from a business that resides in a run down and abandoned shell of a shopping center!

Her vehicle was spacious and clean, her timing for pickup was punctual and she sent me photos and location information all along the way.
