I called in about 9/9:30 Saturday and was told a technician would be there between 9:55 to 11:55. A tech didn't show up. I understand that. Service calls can vary in times so no worries. I called in at 12:30 for an update. Dispatch was busy and couldn't answer. I was told there would be a call back. I waited until about 13:30. No call. So I called back. Dispatch still couldn't answer but I was reassured they would call me. I waited until about 14:30. Still no call. So I called again. Same story. I called back at 15:30. Same thing again. Finally about 16:00 I got a call back saying that a technician would be there tomorrow (Sunday). That's fine. Sunday at about 8:00 I get a call saying that there are no techs that work in the area on Sunday and that dispatch should have known that. Rescheduled for Monday morning. Once Brian showed up he did a great job getting my leak fixed, working around other workers I had here setting up new appliances.

I have used Doug's for quite some time. Never had a problem - until today…read more I had major surgery on my shoulder on Monday and noticed our heater wasn't coming on. Call Doug's and they send someone out for the usual $99 "service fee" - just to come to your house. I get it - fine. However, He spent 10 minutes here - went into the attic and came out saying there was a dirt dobber nest he removed (just dirt people) and charged $112.20 to do that - and charged an additional $188.70 to "test the system" which consisted of turning on thermostat and pointing a temp laser at vents. Final bill $399!!! Absolute robbery!! The tech was nice and polite - but this is price gouging as far as I'm concerned. Nothing decent about a company that overcharges for a truly simple task. They will never get my business again and I'll be sure to continue spreading the word on all my social media and will do so often.

Service call-Rent house #2, 5 year old unit: they said we needed a new one. I got smart and called another company. Sure enough, the other company changed out the power board which was under warranty and it didn't cost a thing. We also have a "Preferred Membership" (with Doug's) on these houses which we are supposed to get annual maintenance, no overtime fees etc. However, they do not honor the program, they did charge overtime fees and we have never had anyone call for a scheduled maintenance. To top it off, nobody will call back if you have a complaint and because they had my debit account info for a completely different house, they were able to take money out of my account to pay the bill I was trying to dispute. So my advise-Use a more reputable company that cares about service.
