Tru-bilt designed and constructed ramp and deck addition for accessible access to our home…read more Response time to my request for bid was excellent. After finalizing design and cost work began and project completed in record time. Tony and his staff were there when they said they would be on site. Progress status with photos provided daily and except for a weather delay all the work was done as promised. Tony is very knowledgeable, as I've been around construction my entire work career I am impressed with the quality of his work. It's excellent quality. Things could not have been any better. Excellent work, excellent people.

We were looking for someone to just do the framing for new deck and I would finish (deck approx 28'…read morex 36' with 2 sets of stairs). Tru-Bilt Construction (Tony) was super responsive to my initial call and within a day or two, came to check out project idea and make bid. Was best bid and most professional out of multiple and we went with Tru-Bilt. I only had rough plans for the deck we wanted and I needed to get the permits since I was finishing the deck. Tony took my rough plans and redrew to meet permit requirements as I am not a professional. He also calculated the lumber needed for the ENTIRE project, made the order for me, and worked with me so I could pay for lumber myself. Permits went smooth and they began as soon as they were approved. Tony and his crew arrived when planned and gave me regular status updates. He worked well with us on design changes as we went, patiently explained details of his build, and the best ways to move forward considering design changes. He also provided design ideas for railings and a sound barrier/privacy wall that I was finishing myself. Tony was super willing to share his knowledge and expertise even walking me through step by step how to lay down decking edges, deck board, etc. according to his pre-planned design to ensure it looked top notch and high end professionally built (I quickly discovered it was best to video when he was dropping build knowledge). From pouring of footings to fully framed deck, they were done in approx 4 days (not considering permit waiting time, footings dry time, etc). Wonderful company for DIY'ers who do not have time or energy to do the "heavy lifting" and want to do some of their own work. Tony was super patient and easy to work with, has an excellent crew, and we are super happy with the end result. Will difinetly use Tru-Bilt Construction (Tony and his crew) for future projects.

Worst reno experience we have ever had. And this is our fourth renovation…read more --Project misquoted from the start. When we freed up money for the larger scope to include the kitchen, were told suddenly that it was a mistake and would cost more. --Wrong roof was installed on the deck. Instead of being charged the difference in the cost of the materials, we were charged for the cost of the materials and install without the usual mark-up. --Wrong lights installed in bathroom. --Bedroom door opened in front of window. Design error, but we were still charged for a change to the bi-parting door. --Wrong color paint on front hall wall. Told it was close enough until I hacked out a piece of old wall and had it matched myself --No air return planned for --AC move not thought about by design team or engineers. More than 2000USD to move it to a place that would allow us to hear each other talk on the deck. Chose to have someone else do that. --Generator mis- installed. When I shared link with that installation information, was ignored. New board installed. Still problem. Generac guy came out, was indeed installation. --Water in crawl space and lake around generator and front of house --New floor needed the contract pulled out to ensure no corners were being cut. Was told we were getting prestained flooring put in when contract called for flooring stained on site. Was told the weight room and closet were not getting sanded and refinished when the permits called for that. Building and Project Managers acting like they were doing me a favor in following what was in the permits and contract. --Floor installed has cracks already --Bedroom fan made fluorescent humming noise when on, and although it was changed out, I was told that I was being "too sensitive" --Shower head designed and installed at an unreasonable height --Drywall was left outside under a leaky tarp in the rain and was only replaced at my insistence --Screens were put in backward so they could only be removed/changed/cleaned from someone on a ladder outside the house --Shower surround as designed would have made the shelving unusable --The security lights on the outside of the original house were supposed to be reused, but were instead thrown out. Getting new ones and having them installed to the same specifications was a weeks long problem --Floor needed redoing, not once but twice. I have been told repeatedly that a floor has 6 sandings in it, and we are now 3 in --Drainage and waterproofing for the addition was not properly planned for or executed --Entire project was supposed to be done mid-May even with the few days delay caused by changing the foundation to pass inspection. It is now the last week September. --Not one single inspection was passed the first time. I do not recommend. ** After I posted this review, I heard from Ken Combs, company owner who I had not heard from at all during the nine month period that we worked with them to address my "allegations". Disgraceful. 2
