Quick and easy service... We used this service about 2 months ago for our 2 car garage. First it was her side and today was mine. Pulled in , opened the door and the cable snapped off. After trying a few times to call the 800 #, I just went on their website and found a local number for Middlesex County . Spoke with Kaitlyn on the phone and she was able to reach out to Cody who was in the area. It was an easy fix ( thankfully). Cost for a in home service is $99 plus the parts. The garage door on my house had to be more than 25 years old, probably closer to 35, and it wasn't a quality door to begin with. I had been having problems with it for a while and every time I messed with it it got a little worse until eventually it just wouldn't close anymore. Now I was stuck. I called one place and got an estimate over the phone for $1600 plus incidentals. Ppfft. No. I called Precision and they sent someone out to measure. He came out the next day and looked it over. He measured and discussed options and we settled on a price- $1565 all inclusive, out the door, including tax and sweeping up. Sold. And maybe the first guy wasn't so far off... Install day came and 2 guys showed up. In just a few hours they had the old door out and the new one in. They were both super nice and very professional. Everyone I dealt with was nothing but professional. The price was decent and the quality of the door is considerably better than the one I had before. The installers did a phenomenal job, cleaned up after themselves, and were a pleasure to deal with. I highly recommend them. read more

They said it would be 2 weeks to get the doors. 3 weeks later they came. 1 panel was damaged and a replacement was ordered. The carriage house hardware was also backordered. Precision Door Service sold me a LEMON Genie door opener and won't stand behind it. It would not close all the way and they charged me $100 to adjust it. After a year and a half it kept closing only 90 % every 2-3 weeks, I adjusted it per the manual..sure enough it kept happening again and again. Once I had to do it twice in one day. Obviously this thing was a LEMON ! Called them and it's $89 for a service call and $100 if the keyboard has to be replaced. Are you kidding me ? I can buy a unit from Lowes for $168! The warranty only covers parts-they rob you with labor. It is defective, just replace it! Don't do business with these thieves. read more

No showed on me twice. So my mom's garage was hit by a snow plow and since my mom is away, I have been tasked with dealing with the repair/replacement. I made an appointment for an estimate on 2/25. I had mentioned that this isnt my home so I need to stop by just for the appointment. They only do 3 hour windows, I mentioned would like the first available appointment so I can go to work from there. I could tell that there would be no consideration to my request to be the first appointment (and I am willing to wait for a later date for that accomodation) but I accepted that I would be satisfied if they showed up within the 3 hour window (I used another company for my own home who gave an appointment not 3 hour window so I dont see why people would put up with that). So window was 8am-11am. So I get to my mom's house and wait. It gets to about 10:30am and I am getting nervous. I called up and I was told that they would be 1 hour more because the technician was stuck at a repair. So they give a ridiculous 3 hour window and likely would have shown up more than an hour after that. I left the house. The person from the snow plow company said he could make another appoinment for 9am on 3/2. I called Precision directly to ask for an 8am appointment. They said they cant do that and it must be a 3 hour window. I ended that conversation. Then the Snow Plow guy said that he talked to Precision and the reason they cant do 8am is they dont start until 9am (weird how I had a window starting at 8am that day, guess I had no hope of them showing until an hour later at best) and said they would start with me. So I told him ok and he confirmed the appointment with them. So today is 3/2 and I am getting to my mom's house around 9am for the appointment. 9:40am shows up and I realized that this company is not going to show up. I call and they tell me that my appointment was canceled. So there I am wasting another morning. The person claimed I did in fact have this appointment and it was canceled. They wasted two of my mornings. I dont think they really care about that. The person I spoke to the first time called and now she claims that the appointment was never actually made, just a note was there that it was discussed. I spoke to snow plow guy and he confirmed that he made the appointment. Based on my interactions with them and the inconsistency of what they said, I feel like the person was just lying to me and cover up their own actions. Needless to say, I informed them that there will be no third time and we are ending our relationship on a bad note. read more

( i dont think I needed everything, but wjhat do I know) I just said go ahead & am pissed I did not do my homework. I think I could have got the whole thing repaired for about $500 tops!! We had an issue with our garage door today. The chain popped off and another piece broke that holds the chain on. I was unable to fix myself and found these guys on google. I called them and they were at my house within 2 hours. The technician Rick Jones was very polite, knowledgeable and helpful. He told me what was wrong, gave me a few options and was able to replace my entire garage door motor within 20 minutes. I will say that I thought the price was expensive, but I didn't get any other estimates to compare so I'm not too sure. All in all though I feel like the service was terrific and would recommend Precision for anyone in the south jersey area. Ask for Rick Jones as well, as he was a very nice person and not pushy on up-selling. He gave me options, what to expect moving forward and what service they could provide if ever needed. Also, after the tech left I noticed that 2 rollers were not replaced and I called them back...the tech called me back and said the price only included 10 rollers not 12. He offered to come back with 2 more rollers, but that would be $40....this was after I had already give them over 1K Anyway, yesterday I called them for a quote for a new Opener (Just to see)and it was $350 more than any other company I called. Can not say enough about them. I had two new garage doors installed. I am so satisfied not only with the doors but also with the company overall. The tech, Mike, was prompt, wore a mask at all times, pleasant, and his work ethic was terrific. The quality of the doors and components used was a major upgrade to our prior garage doors. The doors were completed in the time Mike told us they would be done and cleaned up after it was completed. Several hiccups for installation. I blame Cody who came out to take measurements and measured incorrectly. Delaying or install had to send a truck from the warehouse with the necessary supplies. Install took 4 hours when should have only taken 2. 4 starts because the door is beautiful and works well. Alls weekly that ends well but dif not inspire confidence. read more

We called them for small problem and received a reasonable price over the phone. When they got there they said that we have a problem with a pulley as well and quoted us an unreasonable amount to fix it. We did not want to go with the second quote but got stuck paying the service fee for them coming out. Our handyman ended up grabbing the pulley with pliers and bending it back in a few seconds - that fixed the problem completely. read more

They do answer the phone and show up on time, but that's the only good things I can say about them. They charged me $200 for a part I can buy on Amazon for $20 and did not install all of the replacement parts in the parts kit they sold me. They even took the other parts that I paid for with them. They are very expensive. They were recommended to me by the Men's Club at our development. I'm certainly going to advise our Men's Club to look elsewhere. Precision Door Service of South Jersey came to my home to install a remote to my older garage door opener. Paid $170 for the service call & the remote. $100 was just the service call. It was working fine and about 2 weeks after the installation I'd come home to find my garage door open. This is very alarming for obvious reasons. I unplugged the unit & stopped using it completely. Today a technician came & told me that any garage remote in the world would open my garage & it can't be be undone. He told me I had to purchase a new machine or open/close manually. Said that $70 spent on remote would be credited towards the purchase. I immediately said that they should credit me the full $170 because of the vulnerability their company has put my home in. He said he'd have the office call me. Not long after the owner, Steve, called. He began the conversation by telling me he was on vacation & seemed annoyed that I insisted on speaking to the owner. I never asked to speak to the owner. I told him the story & he offered the $70 credit. I started to tell him why I disagreed but he wouldn't even hear my thoughts. He kept saying I "just couldn't grasp what he was saying." I listened to his opinion again & asked him to listen to me now that he explained his opinion for the second time. I spoke about 5 words when he started talking over me. He couldn't care less about his customers opinion. Told me I was ruining his vacation! So I hung up. My husband then called him. Their talk quickly turned to yelling & he cursed out my husband & hung up on him. So now I'm stuck with a garage door opener that can't be used because anyone with a remote can enter my home. The Good: Very courteous customer support. They were prompt and arrived within an hour of the estimated time. The technician was very polite, professional and articulate. He clearly explained what needed to get done. You can tell he was highly experienced. The Bad: They only carry their own parts. Those parts are super expensive. For example springs were $200 each ($400 for 2) excluding the safety cable. Lowes has them at $16 each including the safety cable. Pulleys were $100 each ($400 for 4). Home Depot has them at $4.99 each. Their parts seem to have a much higher quality than what you find at Lowes or Home Depot but do you really need that type of expensive commercial quality parts for a home garage door? Also, you are liable for the service charge regardless if you agree to the quote or no. So if you don't like the price once you get the estimate, you still have to pay $100 for turning them away. I would have given 4 stars if they offered a free estimate. read more

A spring broke, replace 2 springs and service call $402. new door and parts and new operner cost around a grand..the service tech told the springs that come with the new door are cheap and last about 2 years, so why do the sell this kinda product? The technician Brian was courteous and called before he arrived. I had a broken spring on one of my 8 ft. doors. He told me I needed to rebuild the entire door... both springs, pulleys and rollers. Since I know nothing about this I had him do the repair. The cost came to over $900. I did not like the fact that there is an $89 charge whether you have the repair work done or not. Had an issue with one of my cables on the garage door the other day. I called a few places but precision was able to come over the next day so I decided to go with them. However, that is where the good part of the story ends. When the tech arrived, I was told I needed to replace every part of the garage door (rollers, pulleys, cables, etc). To make matters worse, when I asked if he (Brian) could just replace replace the cable that was broke, he said no. Since I needed it fixed and didn't have time to argue, like an idiot I said ok. Then I get told it's cost $745 for 15 minutes of work. Are you kidding me? When I asked to see an itemized bill, I was told it would be emailed. After I called twice to get the bill, when I finally viewed it, there is no labor charge on the bill. But what they do is put a premium on the parts. For instance $99 for a cable. Real cost is maybe $10. Times that by 2. $50 for a cast iron pulley. Times that by 4. Real cost maybe another $10. I have called to complain and I'm expecting a call back. I am appalled at the price for 15 minutes of work. When I questioned Brian, he said it wasn't 15 minutes. Ok Brian, maybe it was 20 minutes. Sorry if I offended you. Give me a break. I got completely taken advantage. I will say however that the quality of work is fine and they showed up between the hours that they said. But come on guys, there is a theme on this site with your prices. Stop these horrific business tactics and maybe you'll get more referrals. read more

I have to say, I am very displeased with the service and pricing from Precision. The only reason why I used them was because i had used them before in Florida and they were great. The South Jersey location is a total rip off and would never use them again. I had the track break on my garage door opener and was told that the technicians carried all the parts to fix it. When they arrived, they didn't have the part and said they can replace the motor with included the track which was 3x as much. After fixing the track by replacing the whole part, i noticed that the garage door opener was stressing and can see if struggling to lift the garage, not even 5 days later, the springs broke and had to have them come out again to fix they springs which cost another 550 dollars. Not to mention, i am still waiting for a phone call back from management when i was told they would call me. Should have done my research before hand and can see now all the poor reviews from this company. read more

I used them to replace a broken torsion spring on my garage door. They were able to send someone out the same day I called. Brian, the technician that came out, was very knowledgeable and very respectful and professional. He gave me many recommendations and told me what I need without being overly pushy and trying to claim that I needed any of those things immediately. I will definitely use them in the future. The only reason for the 4 out of 5 is the price, they are quite expensive. I believe you get what you pay for, and I absolutely believe Brian knew what he was doing, but I needed new cables with the spring (a fact I was aware of beforehand and had looked into) and there price for them was 99$ for the pair, which in looking into beforehand I was aware was very inflated. Everything else seemed on point and as I said I wouldn't hesitate to use them again even with that against them. In the end you get what you pay for and I'm happy with the results. read more
