The electrically controlled garage door opener failed recently when I returned home from shopping. I called Precision Garage Door Service of Hilton Head at around 1:00pm and they were able to come over within a few hours AND identify the mechanical component of the opening mechanism that failed AND install a replacement. Bottom line--same day service including having on their truck the necessary replacement part. Overall price was reasonable and highly skilled repairman provided same day service in February. Don't be fooled by the positive reviews and get two other estimates because Precision Garage Door Service-a franchise in Savannah GA and surrounding counties has pricing that is VERY expensive. When you get the bill, notice that they do not list labor charges and when I asked, they refused. I am wiser after having paid the excessive price of $1,200 for two torsion springs, one torsion tube and a few bearings and 1 1/2 hours of work. Look up the cost of these items on the internet. I fell into the trap of needing immediate repair but should have gotten other estimates and gone with a company that charges reasonable prices and avoided a rip off. Forewarned! read more

So I asked for their services on the 7th of November to get my car garage fixed. They gave me an option of getting a full garage for a price of $2200 or getting the two specific door panels for $1500 but it would come two to three weeks longer so I took the earlier deal for a higher price. Fast forward to now, I had to call a bunch of times to request the notification of the order and the process. They still didn't get it in time and to me until the same time they said the cheaper price would be. I feel totally scammed and I told them about this and they still have yet to give me any reason why they would treat me like this. We had a garage door fall apart. I called Paget's and they came out that day to temporarily patch and close. Had our new replacement the next day. I didn't comparison shop but others told me I paid a reasonable price. Would highly recommend this family business. read more

Installers were great for the most part. Doors are awesome, but I spent the extra $$$ to get soft close motors and doors. My only reason for not giving a 5 star is... They installed my outside door pads at different heights. read more

A couple weeks ago, I contacted Precision Garage Doors to get an estimate on replacing the doors on my two car garage. The technician listened to my "decorative" ideas and offered his honest suggestions with the understanding that I wanted curb appeal doors He was very thorough and knowledgeable. The doors were scheduled to be ready and installed within two weeks but were ready one week early. Installer Jimmy Harper, very courteous and people friendly, arrived on time for the installation. Harper explained every phase of the materials and installation completing it earlier than expected, including installing two garage door openers. He was very patient with my lack of technology and ensured I understood the functionality of the installed materials. After a disaster with a local garage door repair firm, we called Precision, they gave us a date and approximate time to expect a technician. The tech came well within the expected time and proceeded to tell me what was going on and what would be done. 1 1/2 hrs later, he was done and the results were great. Their technician quoted us $1,500 for a job that the next guy we called in fixed in 10 minutes for $125. So their tech was either incompetent or trying to sell us something we didn't need. He also cracked a bunch of paint on our doors by slamming the door down--twice--to demonstrate how the springs were faulty. I contacted the company to let them know this happened--just so he wouldn't do it to the next customer--but they didn't even bother contacting me back. And then they wanted a review! Bad Customer Service and will not stand behind their mistake and make it right. I handle the maintenance for a large vacation rental company in the metro area of Chatham County. Recently, scheduled PD to look at a right door of a double door garage door home, where right door was not functioning at all. Set the appointment, repair completed, and paid PD. Two weeks later, report of right door keypad not working. Called, PD went out again and completed repair. Two weeks later got another complaint the door/keypad not working, scheduled third appointment. Tech is now telling me the door needs to be repaired. When looking at the invoice, it stated the wrong door (left) was repaired initially. When I spoke to the manager, he refused to make their mistake right and fix the door that was initially not working. So, the owner paid to repair a door that was functioning, and the other door not working at all, and still is not. Manager said, well the other door was old too. My reply, it was working, the other door was not... even if they cant tell left from right, the one that is not working should have been the one they fixed! read more

The replacement didn't go as quickly/smoothly as it might have but Brad gave the extra effort to make sure everything was working properly before he left.
