I hired Travis Curtis over a year ago to build a covered front porch onto my house. At the time he…read morehad just parted ways with SHADROCK Construction. Due to the lack of morels in the owner. The owner had been paid 45k from me to complete projects for my house. He completed two projects totaling 20K. He has yet to return my money or complete the projects he was paid for. Upon hiring Travis he promised to not do what Shad had done to me. That the money he received was in My account and would only be used for my project. He also said that the porch would be completed before Christmas 2023 it was not completed and took another 6 months. He never completed the roof. He had only applied felt. I was made aware of that by the contractor who came and installed gutters on my home. (May 2024) When I questioned him he said he forgot. The shingles did not arrive until June 2024. He never came and due to weather conditions I had to pay another contractor $5600 to complete. I started asking for an invoice in February 2024 with the balance of my account. He text me that the money spent so far was $6,000 but would need about $2400 to finish which included materials for roof. Which he did not complete. He was not reliable and did not show up on many days he said he was coming. The porch was not completed until July 2024. At this point I asked him to bring me a check for remaining balance in my account and an itemized invoice. He told me he would be over by July 19, 2024 then it was July 29 then on August 6 he tells me he needs a week to get my money together? My account was used for another customer? November 14, 2024 he says he will have the money for me in one week. This was my last communication with him. He blocked me on his phone and Facebook. After 10 months December 31,2024 he sent me an invoice with a total of $34,841 and the balance would be paid to me by February 2025. The invoice was sent by his wife. Her and I had words and she told me you're working with me now not Travis! I needed the money to complete a driveway project (which was holding up my certificate of occupancy from the city. Also to help pay for a garage a stipulation on my lease. I am not unable to sell due to no verification from city for occupancy. And the development has stated they will start an eviction process by June 1,2025. Everything Travis promised he would not do he DID. I am 69 years old and may have to forfeit on my home mortgage and move. I am beyond distraught and angry about this. My suggestion is to avoid this company and owner.
