4/9/10 After the…read moretunderstorm on Saturday night, my desktop would not power on. I tried a few different things but quickly gave up. My wife started freaking out because I have not backed up the pc in over a year. "What about all our pictures of the kids? I could see the panic on her face. On Monday afternoon around 2:30, I called Midsouth PC repair. Scott answered on the second ring and quickly explained that it was probably just a power supply problem, but even if it was worse, he felt confident that he would be able to retrieve the contents of my hard drive. He told me that he would be able to be at my house by 5:30 but actually got there a little early. He quickly disassembled my unit and installed a new power supply. Wallah! A bit difficult to get through to them on the phone but more on that later. After finally getting a live person on the phone I was able to get the lowdown on becoming a substitute teacher, a bachelor's degree didn't matter what in, lucky for me I just happen to have two (smile). After reading, signing and sending some documents back and forth, and completing an online prerequisite course, I found myself in a one day orientation course. The entire process was handled very professional and smooth the hardest part was getting a live person on the phone, but once I showed up for orientation I figured out why, this office is only staffed with a total of two people, answering phones in between orientation and trying to fill daily substitution assignments, so kudos to those two ladies, well done considering the workload.
