This is my second visit to the hotel, and I splurge this time on a room called the room with a view. An amazing patio of more than 500 ft.² greet to you as you walk into the room outside floor ceiling windows and doors. The room is super tech savvy with almost all functions controlled from a panel on the wall next to the desk. This includes automated lowering and raising of blinds for the floor ceiling windows, as well as closing and opening full length draperies for the same. The bathroom is super spacious with double sink vanities in a large walk-in shower. This would be a wonderful room for anyone to celebrate the holidays in. It's equipped with a super comfy king size bed, and down comforter. There's also two couches in the room, facing the large picture windows and a small round table with two chairs for indoor dining. But the patio is unreal and includes a larger outdoor dining table for four and two large chase lounges. What makes this room so spectacular is the views of Saint Mary's church and the whole of Oxford University. Aspires of Oxford are magical and at night it's absolutely spectacular. Everything about this hotel is five star from the service the moment you check in until you check out. Room service is fast and efficient as is maid service in the mornings. Included with the room is a fully stocked mini bar and wine refrigerator. that's updated daily. You're also given a large platter of super fresh fruit, that is also refreshed daily. There's a hot pot for making tea and a really nice coffee pod machine that makes espresso. The wall opposite the bed sports a large flat panel TV. Location of the old bank hotel is prime real estate in the center of high Street in the middle of shops, pubs and restaurants. Cross the street and you are immediately on the grounds of Oxford University a wonderful place for exploring. Can't say enough about this hotel, the physical aspects, the service, and the location. I will always choose this place when I'm in Oxford.

The design is excellent, a beautiful desk and chairs and tables--modern and tasteful. They keep everything impeccably clean. The art collection is stunning. The bath spacious, even in my room for one. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and charming. Coffee and tea are abundant. The lounging areas--a snook in the rear of the hotel--is a great place to prepare for the day. The food is excellent. The hotel sits on Oxford's High Street, right across from the towering All Souls College. Old Bank is a perfect hotel. I can't wait to stay there again.

The service was extraordinary and the rooms were freshened everyday with clean sheets that smelled like lavender. It was the perfect place to unwind and relax after a day of exploring. I was lucky and had a room that had a small patio, it was so lovely to have my tea there. I highly recommend this hotel, and I hope to someday go back. (One warning, if you stay overnight tbrough Sunday the church bells from next door are pretty loud and ring throughout the morning)

My greeting was less than friendly, my flight got in later than expected, so instead of coming in…read moreon Saturday evening I got in Sunday early morning. I was first told I was noted as a no show, then told I couldn't check in until 3pm (after the long flight and no sleep in 24 hours this was unacceptable). Then was told I could check in if I pay for Saturday night as well, being too exhausted I didn't care especially since I had originally booked for Saturday anyways. All 3 of them watched as I struggled with my bag (which had a broken wheel). There is a door you have to pass through for the elevator and it didn't open automatically, (they should either remove it or provide a means with people toting luggage it's nearly impossible to hold a door open and drag things thought) The room was horribly small, barley could fit in my luggage. I got 3 hours sleep, it was loud and since there was no "do not disturbed" sign to place on the door I was continually woken with numerous requests to make up my room (which I just checked into). I. Then received an emergency call from home and had to leave. I called to cancel the rest if my stay and had to pay for not abiding by the 48hr, I asked for some leniency, she said I needed 48hrs, clearly not understanding this was an unexpected emergency. I'm saddened this is part of a Hilton and clearly they prove being any sort of "priority member" means noting. (I called Hilton and they said I had to deal directly with the hotel). Advise I should have listened too; stay closer to Oxford Center so you can also walk around and have plenty of food options. Because I was loyal to Hilton I ended up in this dreadful place.

The newer Westgate "outside mall" has various upscale and foreign shops. With no parking near the hotel, we parked underground at the Westgate car park. Very busy some days, but follow the green lights for the parking spots. We paid £38 for overnight parking. Rooms and bathroom were clean. On the small side, but lobby was nice and open. Breakfast is not included, and lots of options in the downtown area.

There is a bar with a selection of beer, wine, and liquor open in the afternoon/evening. The location is perfect. Walking distance to a variety of sights, restaurants, shops, and the train station. You won;t need a car. I think you'll enjoy your stay.

No AC, room is at 26c and when we called the manager, she tried to say it was because we had something plugged in! One tiny fan circulating and I'm sharing a bed with my mom.
