I enrolled my daughter two months ago, and I have not regretted the decision at all. She's 12 and I wanted to equip her with the knowledge and skills to defend herself should she ever need to. However, it is more than just a self defense class (which are really awesome), PMA instructors focus not only on the physical aspect, but the over all well-being of an individual. The lessons that they teach will be a positive influence through out your child's life, well into adulthood. My husband and I are grateful that we were able to find a center that reflected our own home values.My daughter has learned so much from her instructor(s) and I can see that confidence in her more and more everyday. So much so that I've decided to join one of their adult classes, in three short classes, I can already see a difference in my self, physically and mentally. I Will be enrolling my son in a month to join their program as well. I highly recommend this place. Not just for your kids, but as a whole family. Update - I've now enrolled my son, and have also joined their adult program. I can't tell you how much we look forward to going to class each week. What a difference just a few short weeks make - my son is more focused, he's developing habits of self discipline, and since he's a little guy, I can see how this is helping him get stronger physically and more coordinated. GM Cox and his staff are the most professional instructors I have had the pleasure of training with. His unique blend of tradition, with the eclectic blend of newer styles makes a perfect balance with true self-defense and sport. He is attentive to the needs of the student, asking the most of the students, while never asking more than one can give. Sifus Cerda and Pressly are excellent instructors, and I am lucky to train with them. I have trained with them for years, and although I no longer live in the area, they still welcome me with open arms everytime I am in Abilene, and continue to encourage me. The black belt test was one of the most difficult tasks that I have endured, yet gratifying. I am truly blessed to be part of the Ohana. Premier Martial Arts is an amazing place. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They genuinely care about everyone they train. I have two kids at the PMA Wylie. They both love this school! It has helped my son become more open and has helped my daughter stick up for others.
