Coming into town for one night and training there over a period of time is two different things although the owner can be pleasant his students are bit brutal on the practice mat. I understand that on a competition mat things get a little rough. But the way I understand it on a practice mat everybody is supposed to be brothers and sisters and treat each other as such unfortunately at zombie Brazilian jiu-jitsu that is not the case every man on that Matt or at least a large majority of them have an overflow of testosterone in them . Trying to find out who is king of the match and that's putting it very nicely. Twice already I've been sent to the hospital all expense paid by me because somebody got angry brutal or rough or just plain didn't like me and decided they wanted to pull an arm out of joint and snap it back quickly. Never in my life have I experienced such Beast like qualities in a dojo. As a matter of fact I can recall at one time when they had an instructor who also got a little rough with me at one time nearly pushed me and almost send me flying across the room. At molars to jitsu we were shown that on the practice mat to be supportive of one another to treat each other like family to help one another to always be there for each other and that's what it was like there even after practice people would hang out with each other go out to eat , there was always a birthday party to celebrate at somebody's house. Zombie Jiu-Jitsu is nothing like that it's every man for himself and cared nothing for your fellow man on the practice mat if you're looking for a Jujitsu dojo where it would feel like family where you would grow in confidence and feel safe this is not the place for you but if you're looking for jujitsu dojo where you could show everybody what a badass you are then this is a place for you read more

Zombie bjj is an RMNU affiliate. Owner/operator/head coach Joseph Tonche is a purple belt and one of the best in the state. His instruction is high above his level. You can't judge skill level in this gym by belt color, as most practitioners are much more talented. If you just want color on your belt this is not the place, belt promotion is slow, and you feel that you have earned something when you get it. The family mentality here is second to none. You will feel like a brother or sister when you walk in. As far as bjj is concerned they are the best in the area. The only team that consistently competes in high level tournaments, and with the recent addition of Geno Casteneda to coach boxing and kickboxing then you have a total package.
