I came in as a healthy, young male for a pre-employment physical. Working in healthcare, I get physicals at least annually, among other tests and screens. She could have easily performed a cursory physical exam, asked me whether I could physically work, and signed my form. Instead, Dr. Velez provided a complete physical exam, obtained a full medical and surgical history, and screened me for a few health conditions based on my intake forms and family history. Needless to say, I was impressed with her approach this visit. Not only does she provide comprehensive care, she also knows how to build rapport. She entered the room with a friendly smile, used little medical jargon, which improves communication for many, and was very approachable. If I were to stay in Orlando, she would be my primary care physician! Velez Family Health is located in Dr. Phillips in an office building. It's not visible from the parking lot, but if you walk down the hall of the north building, you'll find this clinic on the first floor past the restrooms. I decided to take the leap of faith and make an appointment. I am glad that I did. I live in Apopka and this office is less than 10 minutes away from me, so its location was important, They have late hours until 8pm on weekdays and are open on the weekend. If you are familiar with the Advent Health system, all of your medical information is accessible through their website or their app you can download on your phone. I love that if I get bloodwork done at one of their locations, it's almost immediately available in their portal. I can access my past appointments and if I have ever gone to a Centra Care or the Advent ER, all of that is available. So far it's been great. Even if I don't always see the same doctor, all of the notes are in the system. Every time I have had an appointment, the doctor or the assistant has been very caring, helpful and informative.

Hunt club medical had become too busy most of the time; they also took walk ins tho took people w/ appts first. It was hard to get in to see the Dr,although the PA's were excellent. Decided to keep everything w/ Advent Health and was very happy the two times I've been there. Easier to get in & nicer, quieter atmosphere.

As the company name suggests, Dedicated Senior Medical Center specializes in medical care for seniors. They offer primary care, specialty care, lab, x-ray and pharmacy services. In addition, the staff can coordinate pick up and drop off transportation to and from the center if needed. The staff also speaks Spanish and Haitian Creole. The staff is friendly and personable. Not just with my family member but with everyone I have seen come into the center. They engage and interact with all their patients as if they are family. Most staff don't just stand at the door and call a name. They enter the lobby, call the name (if they do not already know who the patient is), and escort them to the back. They will assist and even hold bags/paperwork for their patients. They smile/laugh with their patients. They ask the patients how they are doing and upon checking out wish them a good day.
