They don't get anything accomplished, don't care about doing what they need to do to treat your pain in a timely manner, dodge phone calls and don't understand basic patient service. I think that anytime you are caring for someone's physical pain, you run into issues at times. It's so hard to get a prescription. The front office is at its best, but still has a hard time being patient and kind. The wait time is probably the best of any clinic. They never make you wait unless they are behind with procedures. I wish that several HIPAA violations hadn't happened in the waiting room. I wish some of the nursing staff understood that chronic pain is hard and to be kinder when someone is struggling to walk. read more

This place is dangerous and is just another pill mill that needs to be investigated. I'm taking care of a 89 year old woman who is over prescribed, highly addicted, and suicidal. I reported these issues to Premier pain and asked them to no longer send her home with 150 Oxycodone 10mg and we were working to get her in assisted living. They still sent her home with 150 knowing her plan is to overdose on them, an eminence law. Every doctor she has encountered during 6 hospital stays in 2 years stated "that's enough to kill a rhino." This is the same Dr. Office that I go to in Columbus. If you read reviews for this Dr. Make sure to read mine for the Columbus location. I highly recommend this Office, the Dr is here for procedure's on Tuesday..(Dr. Javid Baksh) Columbus is on Monday. I have personally been to this office once as well as I took my mom for a procedure called Kyphoplasty putting a balloon in the spine filling it with cement, then they take the balloon back out.. My Mom had to be in a wheelchair it hurt her so bad to walk. After the procedure, she was out of it alittle from anesthesia but once she felt ok she was amazed at how she felt!!!! 2 months of being in severe pain and no one helped her before she had gone to my Drs. She actually walked with no walker and wheelchair!! It was awesome. This Dr is amazing!! If you need pain management, especially for your back I highly recommend going here!! read more

The doctor is great but getting anything done through the office terrible. My husband has been an established patient for several years. Every single time anything needs to be done it takes an act of Congress to actually get it done. He calls and talks to someone who says they are on it. Then, after hearing nothing back for weeks he will contact them again. The next person says they don't see any record of it but they are on it. This happens over and over and over. Often it's things that should be very routine. Currently he has been waiting on them to put something through on insurance to see if it will be covered. He has called three times and sent a message on his portal twice. I wish he would switch practices but he likes the doctor a lot and doesn't want to start with a new one which is understandable. read more

Avoid this poorly run business. In July 2024, the doctor suggested a spinal cord stimulator trial for which they needed information from certain of my health providers, and for which I needed to undergo a psychological evaluation. I did the evaluation (by phone) in September. The price was $100.00, which I paid. When I returned to Premier Pain for an appointment in October, they told me they were still waiting for information from two of my health providers and would call me to make an appointment when they had received the information. I communicated with them through the portal and then by text message, receiving an automated message each time promising me that someone would get back to me right away. That did not happen. This is March, 2025. I called today to inquire about the status of my trial and was told that because it had been more than three months since my last appointment, I would need a new referral. So I "self-dismissed" (which is odd because they had evidently dismissed me at their three-month limit) and asked for a refund of the $100.00 I spent on the required psych eval. The receptionist told me that a refund was probably not going to happen. Now I am out a hundred dollars because Premier Pain dropped the ball. There's another pain management outfit just down the street. I asked my spine specialist to refer me there. And I'll start all over again because Premier Pain dropped the ball. Dr. Baksh is a miracle worker. I was diagnosed with occipital neuralgia almost a decade ago. For years I received nerve block injections which were very successful at controlling my pain, but eventually they stopped working. I was convinced that the only option I had left was nerve decompression surgery. I'd heard frequent horror stories from others who'd had the procedure, that it made their occipital neuralgia worse. I couldn't imagine being in more pain than I already dealt with. My neurologist recommended RF ablation. To be honest, it took me some serious convincing but I finally decided to have it done. I had nothing to lose. I was sent to Premier Pain Solutions where Dr. Baksh performed the procedure. Truth be told, I wasn't convinced it would help. Prior to the procedure, I went from having at least one flare up a day to only three within a period of almost two years! To go from pain so severely debilitating (feeling like I'm getting stabbed with ice picks in the base of my skull while getting electrocuted) that I'd end up in the ER every month, to suddenly being 100% free of pain is nothing short of a miracle. read more

I've been going to Dr. Baksh at Premier Pain Clinic for almost a year maybe! This doctor and his staff has been nothing but professional and very supportive to me! For those people who have been saying unkind and really nasty things about this place and these fine people, you ought to be ashamed of yourself! When I read some of the negative reviews, I thought to myself, "Where are they talking about?" That can't be the same place that I go to! I understand that you have to go through some things before you get some relief or even pain free! Believe me I've been through it all! Everything that I had to endure and have done there was to help me get to this point! Most of the people that had nasty reviews were only looking for a quick fix like pain pills! Narcotics are not the answer to permanent pain relief! It might help for a few hours or so, but the pain comes right back! You have to keep taking them and then you become dependent on them! That is not the answer! At least not for me! Dr. Baksh is not doing all this hard work helping people with serious pain to give out narcotics! They will fight for you with these insurance companies also that don't want to pay for treatment that is really needed! Isn't that why we pay for insurance? So that they can help us when we need medical help? That's a whole different story! I understand that people have opinions but my mom use to say! Horrible office communication, after 2 appointments no relief, by second appointment still haven't received medical records from the hospital, had 3rd appointment scheduled, two weeks out they canceled for no reason, next available 6 weeks away. Four months into this and no treatment. read more

I drove 40 min for a refill only, but was turned away for being late because they were "booked" but there was NO ONE in the waiting room. I was given 2 options: come back in 5 days, or 29 days! Sometimes they don't even call in my prescription. And if you call to inquire, they don't answer the phone and do not respond to online portal requests. read more

This is a poorly run medical practice. Unable to reach anyone by phone, text, email or any other way to cancel or reschedule appointments. They will not respond to any type of communication, I don't see how they stay in business. I need to reschedule an appointment and on numerous occasions have tried every phone number I can find for this business and cannot reach anyone. Have tried text messages, email and phone but unable to reach a person and no returns to my messages or phone. This needs to be corrected so that a patient can reach the office for any reason. I have been told that a prior approval was needed for my medicine. But it would be done "now" because it was slow in the office. My pharmacy and my insurance said that they had not received the information. This was on a Friday at 8:30. It has been almost a week and I still haven't been called by them as I was told they would do. After waiting for almost a week I still have no medicine. My initial interaction was good, but it has been a real decline in the last 2 weeks. I am very disappointed. read more

Took my Dad to the Asheville location of Premier Pain Solutions for his neuropathy. Some dude name Ken Barrow, who isn't a physician but was full of himself saw my Dad. He was rude and arrogant. I took my Dad elsewhere after that awful visit and do not recommend Ken Barrow. Maybe the other providers are better​ but stay away from Ken Barrow. He wasn't nice. What a freaking awful place. After going here for about 2 months saw the Dr once, had injections twice, and have now seen useless PA twice. This place is so busy pumping people through it's ridiculous. And the PA I was dealing with was providing absolutely wrong information. Prescribed hydrocodone for pain, told her it was doing absolutely nothing for pain but making my head hurt and me dizzy. Her solution up the dosage for 2 to3 a day. Dr. Baksh and his office staff are superb. I was referred to them for migraine headaches. I had a headache for 3 months when I first saw him. He has an awesome bedside manner and no on treated me like a drug seeker. They talked to me and actually listened to what I had to say. This was an awful experience. I have a disability and Injections were supposed to be helpful, but I found the Procedure tightened me up instead.The doctor has terrible bedside manner, and continually stabbed me as I was clenched and laughing in pain. There is absolutely no way that he could've followed any sort of path with the amount I was moving. And to boot he said that he'd prefer the laughing to what usually happens which is often screaming. My experience was exactly like Nancy F and Travelin' G described. Kenneth Barrow told me nothing would work except the device he was selling. After he figured out that I wasn't going to spend thousands of dollars, he grudgingly prescribed a pain med for me. He said the pills weren't an Opioid. I picked up the script and the info said that it WAS an Opioid and that it should only be taken for a short time. This is not what I need for continual pain. I told my primary Dr about the experience, and she apologized and is referring me to a different pain doctor. She said that there are other things that will help. read more

I have been a severe chronic pain patient for 32 yrs. I have a disease called Comprehensive Regional Pain Syndrome. CRPS. I started at 18. I was an athlete. I have been with probably 10 different pain practices.I recently moved to NC from SD. Dr. Baksh is professional and knowledgeable. The practice is busy but able to give personalized visits. The staff is helpful and friendly. There are pain practices where you are just a name and diagnosis. I would recommend Dr. Baksh to any pain patient. Some people get frustrated when all they do is suggest injections, stimulators, and pain pumps etc... But they are only there to give you their best advice. Opoids aren't the answer. They actually make more pain. So there are only so many tools in his tool box. Try what you are comfortable with, read a lot about the options, and make your own decisions. That's all you can do. They are not pushing anything. It is just their best advice. read more

Dirty waiting room packed full of pissed off people should have been my warning but I did not stop then but was stupid enough to continue with my appointment. Pain will make a person do dumb things. The drug test he makes you take before he sees you will come with a bill for over $500. When you finally get to be seen for your appointment it will be very brief and he will already have a plan in mind before he even sees you or hears what you have to say. He started with an epidural injection which he does not let you know will be billed out at Over $2000.00 which even with my insurance left me with $1000 bill that I had to pay for something that did not work to give me any relief. Then he wanted to do another injection of wires connected to a battery as a expensive trial which also may not work at all as I do not think he has any idea of what is wrong with me and has no real plan to help my back pain which I am sure will be very expensive but they do not tell you in advance so you can be sure to line his pockets with cash. I wish I would have seen the other truthful reviews before I went to see Dr. Baksh. read more

In my opinion, this practice is not in business for what it claims to be. First impression is one of empathy and care. Once you commit to being a patient, the attitude changes. The interest of this practice is in expensive injections, implant trials for future surgery, and anything else that generates additional $$$. A simple protocol for easing chronic pain is not their prime interest. They are continually promoting stimulator implants, implanted pain pumps, alternate injections---all that require lots of insurance money, continual care through their practice to monitor and update devices frequently, for the life of the device. They advise that these are the only options available. (You are even required to have psychiatric interview! Not sure why.) In addition, they do not prescribe what a patient truly needs to help with pain management. The empathy and compassion are long gone. The mood shifts to bullying and hostility. Appointments are changed without notifying you! Meds are changed without telling you! No consideration or common decency afforded to any patient. Take a moment to look up how much they receive in payment from the drug companies and large amounts from the implant makers! All kickback payments to doctors are public information. I trusted these people to honor their "vision statements" but found my trust was definitely misplaced. It is a shame that this type of action is allowed to take advantage of seriously hurting people.
