I called this office 4 times after my first visit, bacause I had no relief from my pain. I never received a return phone calls in regards to my problem in almost a week. The third time I called I got Chris on the phone who told me they had a note to call me back. I told her about my problem and she said she would discuss it with the doctor and he would give me a call. That was on Friday. Today at 1:30 I called them again! Because I had still have not received a return phone call from their office after 4 phone calls to their office. They took no responsibility for their lack of concern and action and where horrible on the phone to me. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to these people. Dr Buzzanell is fine and a very good MD...he seems to actually care about the individual...but his PA Haley Ward is very different and inexperienced.I went in for an appointment with the doctor...but was ushered into a room with only this PA. She immediately jumped right in and said she would not prescribe any opiates at all to me. Her stated reason was that I had gotten an Rx from a different provider...what she totally failed to take into account was that Dr. Buzzanell was unavailable for my last appointment as he was elsewhere.No one informed me of this and with no.information provided had a small amount of medication prescribed. Ms Ward said she would not prescribe any opiates ever due to this! I had never seen her before and certainly have no reason to go back.But Dr. Buzzanell has not said anything? This is serious disconnect..I have contacted the office for a further explanation and that I did not want Ms.Ward involved.No.response and no continuation of care? read more

This might be a long rant... please stick it out to the end. Ok I don't like to say anything bad about someone if I can help it. But I absolutely was treated so horribly at my doctors visit today that I am ready to stop going to any doctor. Well one other doctor treated me badly when I had horrible symptoms before I was diagnosed with stage 3c colon cancer. Yeah he said it was "All in my head". 4 months later I was diagnosed. I have been through quite a bit as most of you know for the past few months. I have been going to Blue Ridge Pain Management to treat my chronic pain. It's been great love Dr. Buzzanell. But a while back he hired a new PA. No bedside manner whatsoever. Not a good personality, just cold. Well anyway,I have been having some major issues of late. Very concerning. Symptoms, same as before I was diagnosed. Actually the past week, SEVERE! Can't keep food down, always in the bathroom. I won't go into specifics, but hurting so badly the past week, I have thought many times of going to the ER. Called my oncologist yesterday, well the triage nurse, and told her what's been going on. She asked if I had changed any medicine? I told her yes that Haley Ward the ice cold PA at Dr. Buzzanell's office had put me on a NEW medicine that was suppose to help my pain. So I tried it. Every week since the first of last month, I have felt worse, and worse. The past 5-7 days, I can't eat more than a handful and I am violently throwing up, or forgive me sitting on the toilet. Progressively WORSE! So the triage nurse at my oncologist said since that was the only med newly introduced to stop it immediately. So I did. Slugged through work after being out since last Thursday, hoping I would get some kind of help or answer. The cold as ice PA Haley Ward came in, I told her what was going on. Yeah I was frustrated hadn't slept, or eaten much of anything. She looked at me and asked, well what do you think we should do? I said, well whatever you can I'm hurting badly. So she remarked, well if your oncologist said not to introduce anything new, there is not much I can do. You can't give me something for the pain? Your a pain management clinic! Is there anything? Well we can schedule you for a procedure... how long is that going to take? She replied I don't know. I lost it!! Really? I am bent over double, have had no sleep, no food, and that is her answer! Dr. Buzzanell is great, the PA that was there before, excellent as well. This fu?$@!: ridiculous! I told her to refer me to someone else. Oh, well your oncologist or general practitioner will have to do that. I am so sick of doctors who don't give a crap! Walked out of there, never to return! Tried to eat a handful of food, sick. In massive pain. Can't even keep a ginger ale down! If you are a patient at BLUE RIDGE PAIN MANAGEMENT and are lucky enough to see Dr. Buzzanell, great. But if you have to see HALEY WARD, well God help you. Gonna try and make it through the night, if it gets worse, I guess I'll be going to the ER. God help on that one too. That's like playing the lottery, you might win, then again, you might loose. What happened to general compassion? Oh she's CANCER FREE for now, so she's good. Very rarely do you find a doctor who seems to truly care about their patients the way that Dr. Buzzanell does. He takes a personal interest in every one, and is one of the most compassionate doctors I've ever met. He does everything in his power to help his patients, and I feel blessed to have found him. I have had the best experience with Dr. Buzznell, his P.A. Haley Ward, and the staff. They are compassionate and knowledgeable. Dr. Buzznell & Haley both take their time in listening and in explaining what your MRI's, cat scans, x-rays, spinal taps, etc... mean. They are thorough in explaining how different procedures are done, how long recovery is, what to expect during and after procedures, what to expect from your insurance company and much much more. I have found them to be a tremendous asset to me. Before I started at Blue Ridge I had an ignorant and assuming idea of what pain management actually is. I did not want to go. But now understanding what pain management is, how it has changed my life, and having a great team like Dr. Buzznell and Haley, I would recommend them to anyone. read more

Doctor has no compassion. He forgot to renew prescription and sent my wife into withdrawal. He had no concern.

The office environment is very soothing especially with all the lovely local photography murals on the walls. Office staff is very helpful and compassionate. Dr. Buzzanell is a very knowledgeable, skilled and compassionate physician and healer who takes a sincere interest in his patients and does everything in his power to relieve them of their pain and suffering.
