Harborview Realty - Secure door lock that Harborview rentals thought was ok to have like this for 3 days

    Harborview Realty

Harborview Realty, Jim Mcgregor, Stephen Pahr and their team provided extremely poor conflict…read moreresolution and customer follow up. I am a disabled Gulf War Veteran and a true believer of honor, dignity, and humility. Harborview has none of these qualities. They will have you believe I threatened them with poor reviews, I did they ignored 3 separate attempts to contact them regarding a safety and security issue at one of their properties. They will also say i wanted money.( read the emails I've attached) Clear as day I did not want cash just the entry door secure. No follow up for 10 days and only after I called them out for poor service. I am attaching the emails so they cannot lie about the situation. Emails: I am writing to express my extreme disappointment regarding the handling of our recent stay: Apollo #509 Check In Date: 4:00 pm 06/19/2026 Check Out Date: 10:00 am 06/24/2026 Reservation #: RES-29737 Upon arrival on Friday, we discovered significant maintenance issues: the door handle was bent and the deadbolt was loose to the point of spinning. Additionally, the bathroom sink was severely clogged. By Saturday morning, the lock fell off entirely. Despite multiple emails and a voicemail from my wife, we received no response from your office for several hours. We were eventually forced to involve VRBO Customer Care to get a reaction. Due to the faulty lock, our security was compromised--we had to store our valuables in our vehicle and barricade the door at night. On Saturday evening, another individual was actually able to open our door by mistake. While a locksmith and plumber were eventually dispatched on Monday, no one from your team followed up for the remainder of our trip to ensure the issues were resolved or to check on our well-being. The door knob which is bent was not replaced with the other concerns. This is my final attempt to resolve this matter directly with your team. If I do not receive a prompt response regarding this experience, my wife and I will proceed with sharing our feedback through online reviews. 10 days with no valid response. Email: Jun 29, 2026, 1:34PM (2 days ago) to Steve, Jim, Info Afternoon, The issues with the property were not addressed until three days after our arrival on what was only a five-day trip. We arrived on Friday, and the front door was not repaired until Monday afternoon. I do not consider that a prompt response. VRBO Care spoke with a representative from your company, who stated that your business would do something to address the inconvenience once the repairs were completed. At no point did I ask for or suggest any form of compensation. My only concern was having a rental property that could be secured. I have a video showing the deadbolt coming out in my hand. I also have a video showing that the door handle was bent and half cracked. That damage was never communicated to the locksmith, and I am confident it remains unrepaired. This is yet another interaction with your company that has been handled poorly. Before responding, you or a supervisor should have reviewed the previous email correspondence to fully understand the situation. For three days, my family stayed in an unfamiliar town in a property that could not be properly secured. Every time we left, we had to carry our valuables to the locked cargo area of our rental vehicle because we could not trust the front door. That is not the vacation experience anyone expects. Unfortunately, there continues to be no indication of empathy or meaningful customer service from your team. This is now my fourth email to your company. I have been more than patient throughout this process. Since my concerns continue to be dismissed, I will proceed as outlined in my previous email if no real empathy is shown. Thank you for making this a vacation we will certainly remember--but for all the wrong reasons. As a final comment, they failed and are now trying to cover their tracks with lies. The above emails tell the truth. Harborview Rentals will not ensure your safety or happiness if you use their service which are found with lies and deception and not handling their shortfalls.

I would not rent through Harborview Realty again. They rented a unit at the Apollo for us number…read more1007. The unit was definitely in need of update. There was hardly anything in the kitchen to cook with not to mention that they need a new toaster and pots and pans. There was no room in the tiny closet because it was stuffed with the vacuum and laundry basket. We were told they had chairs for the beach with umbrellas in a storage unit. Every umbrella was broken in the chairs were rotted. They obviously are not in touch with the owner because this place was a disgrace.

I am a long time customer of Horizon realty. I purchased my second and third Marco rental condo…read morefrom one of their realtors, Theodora. She did an wonderful job both times and then found us annual renters for those properties several times. My first issue with the Horizon was during our purchase of a two bedroom condo. Teddy was our buyers agent and another realtor at her office was the selling agent. So they worked together and knew each other. We all agreed on a price and had a inspection. When we got the inspection report, we requested a few repairs or a discount on the price based on the cost inspector's estimate. The other realtor sent Teddy a very aggressive letter that stated that there would be no repairs! There will be no concession! And if we didn't agree to that he would have his sellers cancel and he would home an open house the next day. You expect professional Courtesy among realtors, especially if they play for the same team. Negotiations is part of the process, we were just trying to get the best deal we could. We seriously considered backing out, but loved the property and didn't want to punish Teddy for her co-worked unprofessionalism. Despite that, we continued to use them for annual rentals. We even signed a contract to buy our 4 rental property on the island but it fell through due to Covid. Our main problem started when we approached them to rent our 2 bedroom for peak season as a vacation rental. We were referred to Peggy, their vacation rental specialist. We agreed on a minimum price and a few weeks later she had a potential renter but then we Realized that she had reduced our price without our consent. We declined the rental. We put a lot of money in the place and it is our personal condo during the off season. We just retiled the entire condo including the closet with imported Italian ceramic tiles. This is a nice very condo not a not a Motel 6. It is the owner who decides what they want to charge. Some time later she contacts us with renters who want to move in now, Mid month. First, we were currently in the condo until ourselves. Also it was not peak season. We told her we could vacate the next day. Instead she sends us a NastyGram saying the owners are required to notify her if we plan to use our own property. Turns out she had a dump truck driver and his son who works on a fishing boat. No Hell No! At this point I informed Peggy we will part ways with Horizon. My wife and I will handle all future booking. We did agree to honor a rental that was booked through Horizon for February 2023. We also informed her that we will not rent it in 2024. We definitely got some attitude for her. We provided Peggy with two sets of keys and the entry code for the digital lock and it was on the contract as well also the keys were still functional on the kitchen door so either way she had access. We also left an additional set of keys in the until for our tenants that we found for March. There was also a set of keys to another rental property that we left there. Our March tenants arrive and low and behold there are no keys. We contacted Horizon and they claim we Never gave them keys. However, I have an angry e mail from Peggy complaining that the keys we gave her do not fit. "See attached" once again she make it sound like We did something wrong. The good new it that letter proves that I did indeed provide keys. I forwarded her her nasty e mail. Now she claims she doesn't remember what happened to any of the sets. Including the set her Tentant returned to her the day before, or the keys to our other condo. Peggy's actual words" I do not know what to tell you, "we do not have any of the 4 sets of keys you gave us. I finally got her broker involved. A few days later he stated that they sometimes dispose of keys for units that are no longer service. So, the day after Your Tenant checked out of my apartment you disposed of 4 full sets of keys. "Owners Property" That is just petty! Lucky I had a 4th set keys and I insisted that they make me 4 new sets. They did, but it was the last transition I will ever have with Horizon and I would recommend you do the same.
