They have a fabulous range of vintage pieces including boots, leather belts and bags and some awesome unique creations. I love their handbags and clutches which are very now and very on-trend. For such a small space, House of Leather has an impressive variety of shoes. They also sell handbags, but the variety there is not quite as large. The shoes, the shoes are where the action is. You can find almost any style you're looking for, whether it's flats, boots, kitten heels, stilettos, or sandals, and you can find them all in a range of colours and patterns. Situated within Wynyard Station, House of Leather has plenty of traffic thanks to the thousands of commuters who pass by. I was attracted to the store because of the very reasonable prices and the many shoes displayed in the window. Despite being a reasonably small store, the shop has plenty of stock and a range of sizes. The shoes are beautiful and are made even more attractive by their pricing. If you work in the city and love shoes, House of Leather is definitely a place to drop by for a quick window shop!

It's open relatively late so if you have nothing to do after a dinner out and need some amusement, then go and find something shiny and spandex from another decade in Vinnies and get a giggle from your mates. I found an awesome beaded necklace here that people comment on... I don't tell them it was from Vinnies! Okay, actually I do after a while because I think it's pretty cool. When I'm in there I often think, okay, when I need a particular item of clothing for a particular one use occasion I am going to come here and find it for next to nix. Somehow I always forget though. I love to thrift shop since I'm only a casual on a budget and there's some really good finds in the Vinnies that I've visited before. While that still stands true, the customer service was a mess. To put it bluntly, my friend and I were racially profiled. I was in line with my purchases when a girl at the counter looked at me up and down and rudely told me to go to the girl next to her instead. I didn't want to cause a scene, so I said nothing and moved along even though I was already insulted. And the thing is, it didn't end there. My friend is a little darker than me, and she was purchasing something to. We were both in the line at the other girl's aisle, and my friend was only looking at something on the display when the first girl had the audacity to accuse her of stealing something. When we were in line. With our money at hand. Really? The lady serving us apologised for her coworker and my friend overheard a conversation between her and the manager about how it was that girl's second day. Still, that was utterly unacceptable. Good products. But maybe Vinnies should screen their volunteers better.

All these really up market clothes stores seem to compete with each other to have the suave-est appearance. Premonition has that large warehouse look and tries to be a bit different with the change rooms being siply a curtain on a rail, but I reckon that's more uncomfortable than stylish. Funnily enough, I feel the same way about the price. You'd expect around $50 for a shirt, or more, and theres more variety if you're looking for something else, but be prepared to really pay for it. But for some of us, I guess its worth if to have the perfect unique look instead of manufactured copy's.

There isn't actually a great amount of choice, but after too many recent encounters of shops which are packed floor to ceiling with clothes, the minimalist and spacious approach of this shop is very refreshing. They have divided the shop into mens and womens sides with white curtained changing rooms at the end of it. The colours were generally quite muted and I found all the womens stock very sculpted aka ....you'll need an Elle McPherson body to pull some of this stuff off! Nevertheless, the pieces make you feel like a million dollars, hence their high prices. Luckily I happened upon Premonition during their 30% off sale! Huzzah, cash back (well..not quite).

A cool(ish) gentlemen outfitters they focuses on Northern European brands and I'd say there target is: smart, fashion conscious men from mid-twenties on. This isn't a cutting edge fashion store rather a well selected version of David Jones. The windows always make me homesick as they often reflect outfits that my dad would wear and then I shudder and realise that my husband would wear them too. This is not bargain hunter territory. The owner once refused to discount a Ted Baker suit because he "has larger overheads than DJs, so they can do sales" - we drove to DJs and saved $150. If your wallet doesn't quibble then this could be a great little shop for a new shirt for that boys night on the town or dress down Fridays.

The shop assistant certainly gave me that impression when she greeted me with an arched brow and a quick appraisal of my outfit. Happily, I discovered that the prices are actually quite low in this shop, around the $40 mark, but they reflect the quality of the pieces which were largely made of viscose. Also, I'm not sure what demographic the owner of this shop is aiming at. There is the odd nod to teen wear with cut-off T-shirts and lacy black things which the buyer had obviously thought "hmm, semi-naked, that's what young people like right?" But this idea is juxtaposed by putting dresses and twin sets with mumsy prints and bad colour combinations alongside them. I'd be impressed if anyone found something flattering in here. Maybe I'm being too scathing, but I just found myself a little confused in here.

The designs have got that UK mod look but not too ostentatious. The shirts are quite fitted and suited my boy perfectly. It's hard to find the right shirt so I was glad to see a Jack London store in World Square, Sydney. They use good quality materials and make hot suits, sturdy winter jackets and some comfy cardy's for the chillier months. They have great sales on at the moment where you can get 60% off and I will be interested to see their Summer range.

Some of their items are nice and made with suede, cotton, rarely 100% wool, however, unfortunately they use a lot of crappy synthetic fabrics. Their clothing is not environmentally friendly and does not back up the mindset of the cool retro clothes that they try and imitate poorly. Usually after a couple of wears or a single wash their clothing starts to look really cheap and shabby even after a single dry clean bubbles have appeared in a jack London suit I had. Looked good for one minute.
