Many might not know that each of the prestigious Ivy League colleges were all founded originally as theological seminaries. So, naturally, each had an affiliate church. Nassau Presbyterian, aka "Nassau Presby," is that for Princeton University and theological seminary. I discovered it my senior year in high school while growing up in Princeton. I was involved in the high school choir and the high school fellowship group. Was baptized here when 17 years old. If you arrive by the NJ Transit bus that drops off nearby on Christmas Eve, you could (perhaps still might?) hear the bell choir clinking their bells and the gathered throngs singing along with the wonderful traditional Christmas hymns. Love it still. Drawbacks: Out of towners will not already know this, trying to park in the Palmer Square area of P'town is nearly impossible. There is no parking lot, really. This church was constructed years before there were cars. Arrive early. Circle. It's Sunday morning and you're going to church, God might help you out. Alternatively, there area parking lots several blocks away. Wear a navy blazer to look like a regular.

When I was married I switched to the Greek Orthodox Church which is similar. Now I've been attending this church. From the minute I entered everyone here was very friendly. Fr. Bill and Msgr. Capek are so very warm and welcoming . They both made me feel very comfortable. I enjoy their homily. I talked to Fr. Bill before Mass and he gave me a blessing. The Mass has a lot great singing in it. All of the parishioners are friendly and they too are very welcoming. There is service from Sat at 5p, Sun 8a, 10 a, and 11:30a .The Mass has changed somewhat of the years for the better. I would recommend attending this church.

The reverend is very…read morewell spoken and interesting, the service is the perfect length (plan for about 45 mins to 1 hr) and they have a nice coffee and snack gathering afterward. There is also a school for children there, so there is a great playground to take the little ones to after services too. Services are UU, a sort of blend of everything that didn't alienate me as a Pagan, which was a huge relief. I went around May 1st and they gave out Gladiola bulbs during services, which I thought was very unique and classy. Mine's just begun to sprout! Go just to take a peek at their sanctuary with the huge stained glass earth window, trust me. So peaceful!

I had some great men in my life that went to oasis and always told me come here you might feel better. I first I attended celebrate recovery, a ministry that celebrates the little accomplishments in life that have been dragging us down. The things I came in with. It took me a good 5 months to walk in the sanctuary and to be honest it amazed me. People worshipping god, people crying, laughing over flowing with joy. They believed in something and I wanted to believe too. So I brought the body and the mind followed. Ever since then I've been going, and when I let god into my life miracles happened. It expanded my purpose, my pain. The pastor doesn't read like the priests I grew up with. He teaches it on a level that I can see it , hear it and believe it. He acts them out with props, videos, and stories. It was what this recovering addict needed, it was the plan all along.
