Pros: Most important- noticeable difference with a few weeks…read morewear Receptionist is always friendly, and kind Scheduling appointments is easy Space is clean and they take COVID precautions seriously Help navigate insurance Cons: Area above baby's ears will bulge with helmet wear Clinicians are not always friendly You're asked to arrive 10 min earlier but won't be seen on time Follow up appointments (when you're finally seen) are short and to the point- you must repeat yourself a few times to be heard/ share concerns/ ask clarifying questions, and make helmet requests (there was a piece of helmet that noticeably bulged into my baby's neck- had to ask a few times for that part to be trimmed) Not all helmet requests are made- clinicians will say they trimmed/ softened a concerning area but will look the same upon inspection- this includes areas where baby has had red spots lasting more than an hour Second measurements (measurements to make helmet) aren't shared- there was noticeable progress from repositioning prior to getting helmet made but these measurements weren't shared with us In my experience a second helmet was recommended during the first week follow up appointment- my baby hadn't even been wearing it for a full week which was weird. Why wasn't this mentioned after the measurement screening of his case was so severe? It felt like they were trying to sell a second helmet Clinicians must wear masks to trim the helmet so they avoid breathing in dust- but they do not wipe the helmet prior to putting it on your baby's head leaving helmet dust all over your baby Closed on weekends Final appointment date wasn't shared until the day of, I was told: if you aren't getting a second helmet this is your last appointment, your baby can wear it for two more weeks and if there are any issues with your helmet just stop using it- this was baffling. Things to consider/ keep in mind: Clinicians aren't doctors- be sure to continuously follow up with your pediatrician on baby's head progress and do at home repositioning/ tummy time prior to getting a helmet and while baby is wearing the helmet There are other Cranial Techonologies locations in IL that have better reviews- if you're able to travel the distance go to another location with better service or check out the Lurie's head shape program Try to have your baby wear the helmet as much as possible- but trust your instincts as a parent- if your baby is too hot/ uncomfortable remove the helmet. If your baby doesn't look safe in car seat, remove the helmet. If there is a piece that is bothering your baby, be vocal until the area is trimmed Be vocal, advocate, ask questions! We chose CT over Lurie's head shape program because the DocBand has better parent reviews and is much more breathable than the StarBand, but we wonder if we would've preferred the service and care from Lurie's. I'm sure the clinicians at CT are knowledgeable but the rushed appointments and lack of customer service ruined our experience. We were told we were going to be given an exit survey about our experience but were never contacted after the surprise last visit.

I am not sure what Chris J is talking about and his negative commentary really upset me, because…read morethis place is amazing, they are so cordial and they have done miracles for my twins. My older twin had severe head deformity and wasn't able to turn her head properly, unbalanced and was completely lagging developmentally. Now her head is so neatly rounded and shaped appropriately, she can actually turn her head to both sides, and she overtook my other daughter who wasn't wearing the helmet. So one day i took them both in and surely they made suggestions that my other daughter wears it too, where the actual doctor didn't see the problem, but after the scanning, there sure was an issue with the form of the head and it was almost as bad as my first twins head. I 100% suggest this place and they will 100% help you with any insurance questions. Thank you for helping us out!

I took my son here after getting a referral from my pediatrician. They told me right away that he…read moreabsolutely needed a helmet!! They said his ears were uneven and he had a slight flat spot on the back of his head. I was surprised by this and they really convinced me he needed a helmet. The clinician that evaluated him was an RN, not an Orthotist or MD. In fact, there was no doctor or Orthotist on staff. How can an RN make this kind of clinical recommendation for this treatment? I decided to get a second opinion from Chicago Pediatric Orthotics right in the building next door, who did NOT recommend a helmet. I then took my son to a Pediatric Surgeon, Dr. Vicari who also said he absolutely DOES NOT need a helmet. He recommend more tummy time. This was a bit of a roller coaster for me, but in the end I'm satisfied I got a second opinion. I recommend you get a second opinion from a doctor before deciding to go a head with a helmet. Your child may not need it or may need surgery and the helmet could make it worse. This place is owned by venture capitalists who make a ton of money off selling these helmets. Glad I didn't fall into the trap.

The entire office/rooms were colorful and eye catching which is good for the little ones. They were so gentle with him, he loved them! The technician was very informative with me about her professional opinion on him getting a DOC Band. My son has a moderate condition of plagiocephaly and brachycephaly, we are making the decision of going forward with the treatment. The technician informed me that he will have to come here every week for readjustments, but I don't mind since the staff was so friendly. Can't wait to get his DOC Band!
