Their style blends the past and present and is inspired by the rustic yet elegant villas of the French countryside and the clean and down-to-earth feel of the American farmhouse style. By its beautiful showroom you would think it's prices are very expensive, but they are not. They are reasonable and comparable to Pier 1. They carry high quality, beautiful, and very unique items, like vases, watering cans, and framed prints. Many items that would make wonderful gifts. Their products are hand-selected and blend the past and present. The French Farmhouse also sells unique products, including handmade items by small business makers and European antiques. A visit to this elegant store, which opened in 2021 and is locally owned by Ashly Lawson, a Franklin County native, is a very enjoying experience. When I visited the store last week I was greeted by a very friendly elegant lady, who was very cordial and answered all my questions about the store and its products and unique gifts. I highly recommend that whenever you're in Downtown, Roanoke, you go visit the store. You will enjoy the visit, and maybe discover one of those home decoration items of your dreams.

Sooooooo cute!…read more I've been following this shop on Instagram for a while but haven't been able to come inside just yet bc they were closed during my last time in town. I love the location - right beside the newly opened and renovated Firehouse 1 building. These two cute spaces compliment each other well and with the beautiful hand-made TXTUR store next door - you can really get some beautiful decor and home goods between the two. This shop is small - but packed with beautiful items that fit the name - French shabby chic farmhouse. I saw a ton of things I'd love to buy. Candles, dinnerware, candlesticks, salt and pepper shakers and wells, t-shirts, a little jewelry, pillows, seasonal decor, etc. The gal behind the counter was very friendly and they have a website and sell gift cards. I found some CUTE fall pumpkin and halloween items to die for inside as well as a honey well and a cute small stoneware jewelry dish. Highly, highly recommend you stop in if you at all love French shabby chic! (Note - the space upstairs is also an event venue)

I happened to have discovered it while walking along the sidewalk of Grandin Road near the Grandin Theatre. Some of the items in their display window entised me to go in and explore all of their consignment merchandise for sale. As soon as I went in exploring the beautiful items, a friendly young lady greeted and welcomed me. She explained how all the items in the store were left on consignment. Items can be consiged on Tuesday with no appointment necessary. Items are tagged with the date they go on sale and if they don't sell by a specified date customers can get 20% off or even up to 40% of the original price. I enjoyed just looking around at all the wonderful items and found a couple I liked so much to purchase and take home. One of them I even got 20% off because of the tagged date. It was a very interesting store that I had never seen one before. I highly recommend that if you're in the area, you stop and give it a visit. Who knows what you will find, and if you purchase something you will be supporting the local store and community members as well.

There are times when one finds these unique, little, local, businesses, that one had been walking…read moreby all the time, never bothering to stop to discover what's inside. And one day, for one reason or another, one desides to stop and go inside. This precisely is what happened to me with Artsy June. One day I was walking along the sidewalk of Market Street in Downtown Roanoke. I saw this interesting little store front. Read this verse that was written on a standing blackboard: "People will throw stones at you. Don't throw them back. Collect them all and build an empire." After reading this my curiosity kicked in and I proceeded to enter the store. The first thing I saw was a restored and renovated jukebox playing songs in the background. Then after looking around I deduced that this was a very special Gift Shop, that sold all kinds of artistic and very creative gifts, as well as Second Hand Vintage Clothing and Items at very reasonable prices. Among the items they had for sale, they had original miniature watercolor paintings signed by the local artist, small signs with inspirational sayings, some original and very creative pottery, souvenirs of Roanoke, an antique typewriter, nice wooden objects such as Chest boards, coffee mugs with saying on them, glass items, home decoration items, cushsions, some furniture, umbrellas, and second hand vintage clothes and items. What also was interesting about the store was that the dressing room was made in the inside of what once was a refrigerator room. A young lady employee greeted and welcomed me and explained all about the shop to me. She was also the artist of the miniature watercolor paintings. What a great little local shop. Just browsing all the items there was a delight. I would highly recommend those reading this review accompanied by my photographs to definitely go visit. And those artistic inclined individuals who might have they would like to sell to take them for the owner to see. Maybe she could include them among the store stock. Who knows, this could be the beginning of your artistic career!

This store is opened year round and carries Christmas and seasonal decorations, gifts, and products for holidays like Easter, Thanksgiving, Halloween, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day, St Patrick's Day, and Forth of July. When I visited the store, the owner manager greeted me with a warm welcome and a smile, explaining where the different one of a kind items were. They had a great variety of Christmas items from blown German ornaments, to gnomes, nativities, Santas, Christmas trees, Snoopy ornaments, candles, Jim Shore Grinch, Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, and Willow Tree figurines. But besides this wide range of unique Christmas items that you won't find anywhere else, and can help make any Christmas season merry and bright, they also carry seasonal decoration items that one could purchase to give as gifts or to buy for oneself. For example during Thanksgiving they might have turkeys, pilgrims, cornucopia horn of plenty, and other decoration items relative to this Holiday Season. Then as soon as this holiday passes by, the remaing items are put aside on sale. I invite all those reading my review to look at all my photographs accompanying my review and visit the store, you will have a blast from viewing all their items and maybe you will find that one of a kind gift for that special person in your life.

The shop embodies the free-spirited hippie culture of those who embrace the hippie values of peace, love, and community. When one arrives at the Boutique, the entire storefront is large glass windows, with two glass doors that are all the way opened, welcoming and inviting you to walk in. As you walk in you pass by a rack with wheels of clothes on sale. Inside, an orange Volkswagen Beetle full of stickers, one of the icons of the Hippy era, has been raised and standing up decorates the store in a very unique way. The floor of the place is part hardwood floor and another part is covered with pennies with heads facing up and held there with some type of acrylic. The front of the cashier counter is also pieces of broken mirrors stuck together. Over part of the pieces of mirrors there is a colorful cloth with flowers all over it and the saying: "You make the world a better place just by being in it." The store is full of the items already mentioned above. A little bit of it all. Some of them make great gifts for people of all ages, especially the colorful clothing, hats, and jewelry. They now have a Hippy Salon that offers product-free dreadlock creation and maintenance, feathers, woolies, glass beads etc. Appointments are being required for this service.
