Their store in Aigburth is fairly standard as far as charity shops go but can throw up some real surprises with some furniture on sale being brand new and of a high quality. The staff here work hard for the cause and their enthusiasm and friendliness is infectious and I could not have been more impressed with their attitude. On the whole the point here is not about how good the business is although it is a well run one, the point is that these people are working for a good cause and the people of Liverpool should support it.

They sell bedroom furniture, dining tables, chairs, sofa's, beds, shelving, occasional tables and garden furniture. They have a massive range of styles from your basic MFI type furniture to the more expensive and classy solid wood items. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They greet you as you walk in and are happy to help and direct you to the sort of item you want. They don't pressure you but give good advice and information about the furniture they sell. If you do not need help they are happy to leave you to browse at your leisure. There is a small area of the shop which is like your usual charity shop with books, records, ornaments, glassware toys and shoes. It's a bit untidy and looks like a jumble sale in this area, but it's worth a rummage.

The prices are reasonable, although "bankrupt" implies something on par with poundland, its not quite that cheap, but you'll find a bargain. I'm not sure whether a delivery servce is available as lots of the items are quite large and bulky I should think there would be.

The pretty sulk scarfs overhang the banisters and the brick walls are covered in collages and paintings for sale. They have a good choice of porcelain, jewellery, bronze and leather goods for men and women. I don't really think there is anything for children there, but otherwise worth a look!

You know that you wont have one of those nightmare moments when you walk into a room and somebody is wearing the same dress!! They only stock a few of each size which makes the clothes rare. You could spend hours in this shop, the lay out is a bit cramped and there is a real mish mash of stuff on offer so it takes a while to look at everything. But I never manage to come away empty handed, there is always something that I want and feel that I just cant live without. Highly recommended for one-off, original Gifts.

Antwakki's has been organised a bit more since the last time I visited but that doesn't mean it is any less ramshackle. It's part of the charm of such places and the reason many of us go, because you don't know what you will uneartth but I have to say I was shocked at the treatment they gave their LPs. A Bowie album was half shoved under the leg of a table while the rest where stuffed between some furniture - mind you I could think of better ways to dispose of the collection of Nana Miscouri, Jim Reeves and New Seekers LPs to easy listening hell.
