Tried heavy trimming but to no avail. They had to come down. I had many solicitors over the past two years, offering a wide range of solutions with a wide range of costs. Unfortunately, I was not born with a silver spoon in my mouth. I happened upon Maguire's Family Tree Service through a glance at Facebook community page, along with several other tree services. I contacted all of them and they all responded, but when Joe (Maguire) came out, he offered me many options with solid costs for each option. He was down to earth and I liked his presentation. He doesn't have some of the large 'toys' that others have, but he has grit, determination and a good eye for the job. I researched for reviews and couldn't find much, but I still hired his company. His office staff (Felicia, the missus) is extremely competent and efficient. When Joe and Tod finished the job of several tricky tree removals, the work area was clean and the quality of work was on time and exactly what I wanted. They did a wonderfully professional job. My husband and I recently had Dead Wood Society deliver us 2 cords of "seasoned" wood for $560. I…read moreuse the term "seasoned" loosely here because it's anything but. The wood is still very wet, so much so that it sizzles and expels moisture when burned. I do not recommend buying your wood through them, unless you're intending on seasoning it yourself. Attached are photos of wood expelling moisture. These pieces of wood have been in the house for over a week.

For our house in Gilford, NH we ordered one cord of firewood from Rich Bergeron . He brought it in…read moretwo batches. The first time he unloaded the wood, it was a bright day. And the second time the wood was brought and unloaded when it was already dark. When we finished piling the first batch of wood and turned to the second one, then suddenly we found that it is very different from the first batch. A significant part of the second batch consisted of rotten and water-saturated branches instead of real wood. At the same time Rich assured me that his wood is dried for 3 years. On top of that, most of the wood was heavily contaminated with fungi. So in the second batch, a significant part of the bark was covered with large fruiting bodies of pathogenic fungi. My wife got a severe allergic reaction after helping me move wood to our basement. It took her several days to recover. Finally, I measured the amount of wood delivered to us and found that Rich had brought us less than one cord, just 3/4. That is, for $300 we got ¾ of a rotten wood. This means that 1 cord of such a low-quality product he sold us costs $400. As soon as I found out that he had cheated on us with the second batch I immediately called him and demanded a replacement. He promised to replace, at least partially. Said we should put the rotten wood aside, and that he'd come to look and replace it. But he didn't come, he lied again. When I called him again the next day, he just hung up the phone. Please be careful with this company: dishonest people sell a bad product that can also be a serious threat to your family's health.

They cleaned up all tree debris and cut the stump so low I had to walk around my yard and look for the stumps. They even cleaned up leaves that were in the yard from last fall, I had to go out and rake the yard just so the area's they didn't work in wouldn't look bad in comparison to the areas they worked in. The project involved an enormous patio, gardens, irrigation, decking, stairs, granite steps, that circled a large house that ran up to to the house, down to a dock. The project involved much regrading of the terrain. It also involved paving with materials a long, rather steep shared driveway that was deeply rutted. We watched the project unfold over several days and were deeply impressed with the scope of the project. Wow. The workers were diligent and never stopped except for lunch. Their expertise came shining through on every aspect of the project. They used bobcats to remove big boulders. They had to cut into rocks in the existing landscape to make the terrain suitable for the patio that circled the house. It was fun to watch. All the while we looked at our tired patio and thought "hmmmmm". We asked our neighbor for an introduction to Tom. Such a nice man! Tom came over with one of his crew, and measured off our spaces, which ended up being a walkway, patio and driveway. It was pitched all wrong and they worked that out, showing their expertise. After seeing the quality of the workmanship next door, we were happy to accept Tom's bid. With the equipment already next door our patio and walkway were installed in a jiffy. It's beautiful. I've put a second story on a house, done a kitchen and a few bath renovations, gutted a small house, and done landscape jobs. Tom is the easiest, friendliest, professional I have ever worked with. If he doesn't answer the phone he calls back promptly. His crews can't be beat. There wasn't a hiccup in the project. I can't say enough about Landscapes by Tom and am pleased to whole heartedly recommend him for any job.
