Tried heavy trimming but to no avail. They had to come down. I had many solicitors over the past two years, offering a wide range of solutions with a wide range of costs. Unfortunately, I was not born with a silver spoon in my mouth. I happened upon Maguire's Family Tree Service through a glance at Facebook community page, along with several other tree services. I contacted all of them and they all responded, but when Joe (Maguire) came out, he offered me many options with solid costs for each option. He was down to earth and I liked his presentation. He doesn't have some of the large 'toys' that others have, but he has grit, determination and a good eye for the job. I researched for reviews and couldn't find much, but I still hired his company. His office staff (Felicia, the missus) is extremely competent and efficient. When Joe and Tod finished the job of several tricky tree removals, the work area was clean and the quality of work was on time and exactly what I wanted. They did a wonderfully professional job. Joe & Daisy arrived, assessed the situation & gave us their assessment. Tom called us back only once and simply left a message indicating that he had received one of our calls. He asked us to call him back - which we did. There were no further answers or replies from him however.Since we had not heard from them on this matter, in January 2014 I left a message directing Tom not to cut down any more trees, return the balance of my deposit, and tell me what he was going to do about the damages to my neighbors fence. Again, he made no attempt to contact us on these matters.In February 2014, Tom returned to our property, against our wishes and instructions, and cut down three more trees damaging two retaining walls in the process. Again, no call or contact from Tom or his company. The debris was left for over four weeks!On Sunday (3/16/2014), I arrived at the property and discovered Tom cleaning up some of the mess. While they were here the second day taking down a tree in the back of my house, one of the goofballs decided to stand on my oil tank. The tank started to fall so he jumped off after being told to get down. They left in a hurry and did not tell me that they left my tank leaning against my house. Refused to come back other than some of the brush that they left. Instead of like I was in the wrong for catching them. They left a half cut tree in my yard. Despite my best…read moreefforts, the drought in Dover last summer really did a number on my yard and burnt a few of my arborvitaes to a crisp. Robert was as timely as could be in responding to all of my inquiries and I am beyond thrilled to share that I have four gorgeous arborvitaes running along the side of my yard. Robert offered suggestions as to how I should tend to my trees in case we hit another drought. Mike and Eli, the two gentlemen who planted the trees, were as kind and professional as could be. When called they claimed that they sent out notices and it was considered consent if we didn't reply, a lie!
