Shannon and her photo/video team are outstanding. From 4-wheel driving up a mountain to get the perfect engagement photos to boudoir and intricate details on our wedding day. This woman and her team can do it all! She ran with every one of my ideas even when they were out there. She is an absolute blessing and an amazing person. I was honored to have her be a part of my day that I dreamed of since I was a child. I will be using her and her team for every milestone in my life. I now consider them friends and they will have a special place in my heart forever!

Shannon was great from the first conversation with her. From the start, we told her what we were looking for - artsy, different angles, emotion, story telling - not just the same cookie-cutter wedding photos. We wanted someone who we could trust to tell us what to do and how to pose so that our vision would be carried out. Shannon did just that! Our engagement shoot was the perfect opportunity to familiarize ourselves with Shannon and get comfortable in front of the camera. In keeping with our wedding theme, she recommended Lodi Lake which resulted in beautiful, outdoor photos. I let Shannon take control of the shoot, and even sent her pictures prior to the shoot of possible wardrobe outfits, which she provided feedback of what she thought would look best! For our wedding day, we used her experience to put together our entire wedding schedule of events. I don't know how she did it, but she got so many shots and different angles throughout the day! Her assistant, Ben, was awesome as well! Our family and friends cannot stop commenting about how perfect our pictures are! Just yesterday, my coworker said our pictures look like they should be in a wedding magazine! While we won't be having another wedding, I hope that we will have the opportunity to work with Shannon again in the future!!

    Mama's Mini! All Shannon's idea!

Shannon Rock, the owner of Preserve Studio, is HANDS DOWN ONE OF THE BEST PHOTOGRAPHER/VIDEOGRAPHERS IN THE VALLEY! If you check out the photos here, on her website, on Instagram, facebook...the proof is in the pudding--she has a keen eye for details and knows how to organically tell a story through artistry that cannot be taught! There are plenty of people that can take a picture, but not too many can capture the ESSENCE of the moment. Not to worry though... I can hands down assure you that Shannon can and WILL do that for you! Why? Because she is a perfectionist and is dogmatic about getting and doing it RIGHT not only for her customer, but out of respect for her craft! This isn't just a job for her-this is her passion and she loves what she does. As someone who has done 3 different photoshoots with her over the last year and is currently on the books for another within the next few months, I cannot begin to tell you how pleased I've been with the ease of doing shoots with her-crying, uncooperative toddlers and all! I don't know about you guys, but finding a photographer with the patience to let my camera shy three year old cry it out, take a breather, eat apples, color a picture and still manage to persevere is a SAINT lol :). But seriously, Shannon is patient when she needs to be but assertive when it comes to capturing the perfect lighting... producing organic, "unstaged" moments that uniquely make Preserve Studio. While I haven't booked a wedding through Shannon, I have done Christmas family photos (as shown in the gallery), a 3rd birthday party and a bridal styled shoot, which have all been nothing short of professional and fun! I have referred a ton of friends and family who are willing to make the 2 hour drive from the Bay Area to work with her and have her PRESERVE special moments in time for them as well. Is Shannon busy and hard to pin down at times? Yes! Which means she is THAT GOOD. PEOPLE WANT HER! She IS in high demand! So...If you want photos taken fast and produced in a hurry, book someone who has all the time in the world to give you a package in a few weeks with a complimentary teaser just because...there are others who can do that for you... And there is always Picture People-they will be sure to decapitate body parts and produce uncentered photos-but will give you full reign on the editing and same day service! No need for a teaser! If you don't mind waiting for a conglomerate of beauty and thoughtfulness, do yourself and your family justice and wait for Shannon...she won't disappoint!

Words can not explain how amazing Shannon and her team are. We chose them to capture our wedding because her cinematic films stood out to us, we felt like each video she did we were watching a movie in the theater. We are just in love with our video and photos from our wedding. Thank you for capturing these sweet moments for us.

First off, the team that showed up on the day of our wedding was amazing. They arrived early, were professional, and immediately got to work. They made sure we captured every shot I had envisioned, while also bringing their own creative ideas to the table--and those ended up being some of my favorite moments from the day! Even though I've only received my sneak peeks so far, I am already blown away. The quality, the vision, and the attention to detail are all exactly what I was hoping for and more. Knowing that everything is then edited by Isabelle Westfall herself gives me even more confidence that the final product is going to be something we'll treasure forever. If you're looking for a wedding photography and videography team that is professional, creative, and truly invested in your day, I highly recommend Westfall Visuals. I cannot wait to see the full gallery and video!

From out first contact (through yelp), she was extremely easy to work with, including when we had a last-day venue change due to weather. Izzy arrived early and made recommendations on where to place our arch for best lighting. She was easygoing, fun, and fit right in with our family. Since we are not used to being center of photos, Izzy provided great direction in terms of posing. The photos that came back were perfect. They also came back very quickly... I believe our whole gallery was available in 4 days. We could not have been happier with the photos. Thanks so much, Izzy!

I wish I could understand what's going on with Scott but since he won't respond to my messages,…read moreI'll have to share my most recent experience with him. I found him late in 2024. You can read my review on that encounter in my last review for him. I closed out that review by stating that I was so impressed, that I left a 24-105mm f/4.0L for him to look at. At this point, I don't even remember what was wrong with it. He worked on the lens and got it back into working condition and called me. It's 71 miles from my house to his shop. I made the drive down and in the course of conversation, Scott said that he would be more than happy to sell it for me and could get up to $400 for the lens. That particular lens was the first lens that I bought for my Canon 5D. It was my only lens for at least five years. Needless to say, I did everything with it. When I returned to my local fire department as a volunteer photographer, I added a few more lenses to my arsenal included the Mark II version of the same lens. Since I didn't need the one Scott had just repaired, I asked him to sell it for me. I didn't hear from Scott for quite a while, but the lens wasn't my priority. I do a lot of volunteer work, and I had enough equipment to keep working. I called him in April of 2025 to check status, and it hadn't sold yet. We spoke briefly about lowering the price. I told him I would take $300. I didn't hear from Scott again until August when he said he had a buyer for $275. I told him that $300 was the price that we had agreed on and he said that he would "make up the difference". I didn't fall off from the turnip truck just yesterday. I know that the difference of whatever he sold it for and what I got would be his profit. But I also know that when you are selling something on consignment, you have no right to arbitrarily lower the price without the owner's permission. His "making up the difference" meant that he made less profit. He asked when I would be driving down to pick up the check. I asked Scott to simply mail it to me. Every time, I've visited him at his place of business, I've had to call to let him know when I was close and sometimes, he wouldn't be there. I know as a single person business operation, clients need your time, meetings run long, photoshoots take longer than expected. I figured getting a check by mail would be easier for both of us. In October of 2025, I called for and left a message for an update. January 30th of this year, I called and Scott told me that I should have received the check by now and that he would have to check with his bookkeeper to find out what happened to the check. Yesterday, 3/23, left a message letting him know how disappointed I was with his lack of communication. And so here I am, dropping my five-star rating for him to one-star. Next will be the Better Business Bureau. I may never see my $300 again but I don't want to see other hard-working photographers get taken for a ride.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Nielsen Photographic was extremely…read moredisappointing. On November 15th, 2024, I brought in a Leica CL film camera that I purchased from eBay that had a broken light meter, but wanted to check if that was all it had. Scott initially seemed helpful, claiming he was certified in Leica/Minolta repairs and found that the speeds were off. He estimated a 3-5 week turnaround for the fix. That timeline quickly fell apart. By late December, I still hadn't heard anything and had to follow up multiple times--calls and texts were ignored. I only got a response after calling from an unknown number. Scott cited a family emergency and poor communication habits, then accused me of being "impatient," even though I was just asking for updates well past the promised timeline. Told me I could pick it up. I asked him to keep it as I was not impatient and just wanted the camera to be repaired. I gave him another month as he requested, but by May and June, I still had no update. My partner finally got him on the phone, and Scott admitted he couldn't get the part or repair it because he didn't have the manual. This was frustrating since I had kept the purchased camera based on his assurance that he could fix it instead of returning it to the eBay seller. Which was no longer an option. He offered to find shops who could help, but never followed through. I picked up my camera on August 1--unrepaired--and he never once provided any leads or updates. When I mentioned writing a review about my experience and how I was appalled by his lack of empathy or accountability, he finally said "sorry," but only about the "situation." Unless you already have a relationship with Scott, I wouldn't recommend using his services. The lack of communication, accountability, and professionalism was unacceptable.
