State policy for all supermarkets is to give rain checks on out of stock items . They refuse to do so. They are not keen on customer relations. Most workers are from Haiti. A lot do not speak English. This is our language.there on web site say they are suppose to give out rain checks. So they break their own printed rules. They are higher priced on most items even Publix supermarket is cheaper. They are really ripping off those Haitians who are over 90%of their clients. read more

So I've been shopping here several times, because I work right next door. I can't lie, this place is damn good. Sure, they mostly speak French creole, but who cares? Similar to Angie B. below. I went to get food from the cafeteria around 3pm on a Monday and no one spoke english. When I asked if there was anyone that could speak english to atleast tell me what I'm about to buy or to explain the pricing of the meals I was ignored, and they went to the next customer who was the only other person in the line. I tried again with another employee with no luck. I literally felt like I was begging for someone to take my money and give me food. I don't care how good the food is or how cheap, I won't be going back. This was my first experience at Presidente supermarkets I will try others but defintely won't be going back to this location. Angie's review of this place is from 2017 and this review is as of 2021 so clearly this establishment does not cater to english speaking individuals. One liner: Welcome to Port Au Prince's local market! Overall: Every presidente has a different feel/catering and this one in Delray is catered heavily to the Haitian population, so I always feel like I've entered a whole new country despite just 2 mins ago being on the Delray beaches, home in my apartment, or even just wandering around suburbia in publix. This place is good for cheap but not necessarily fresh fruit- you really do come here for the tropical fruits that otherwise cost more in Publix of Winn Dixie. You can also come here to pick up minority food and their hot food area can be quite affordable and delicious if you want some home made Haitian foods. Produce- they can have some ridiculously cheap fruits and deals. Sometimes you'll see bananas up to 4lbs for a dollar! I like their 2 lbs for a dollar papayas and their 3 for 1$ avocados and their 4 lbs for 1$ pumpkins. Depending on what you cook often, I highly recommend here for their garlic: 1.99$/lb compared to the 2.99$ or 3.99$/lb in publix and elsewhere, their pineapple usually 1.99$-2.99$, honeydew 2 giant things for 3$, avocados, papaya, plantains, sugar cane, beets, pumpkin, sweet potato, eggplant, ginger, garlic, and fresh herbs. They are ok for apples and other common American fruit, but super cheap on those found in Haitian cuisines. Dried Goods: My fav thing here is their spice rack. You can find SO MANY herbs/spices in their badia and other local spices rack that you won't find or is more expensive in Publix. I like picking up whole bags of coriander, mint, anise, hibiscus, oregano, curry powder, jerk seasoning, garlic powder etc b/c ethnic cuisine is always heavy in spices/herbs that American cuisine often lacks. Therfore you'll find bulk and wide varieties here. Sugar, cereal, cuban coffee, beans, and grains are all very cheap here btw. Fish and meats: I am not familiar with the meats here but my guess is that if you're ok with the most A+ conditions and freshness, then perhaps it's ok. Fish prices here ok but you'll find grouper heads and parrot fish and lots of shrimp here. Dairy: Milk here is cheaper than anywhere else- Come here and pick up your gallons is you're a milk drinker Hot food bar: You're here for their plantains, tostitos, whole chicken for 4.99$, and other ethnic foods. I highly recommend coming here and sampling a lot of good Haitian food if you are in Delray since it is one of the few Haitian places around with cheap and fast service and high turnover rate. read more

We've lived in this area for about 2 years, but never ventured into this store. We have several nearby grocery stores to choose. However, tonight we were wanting tp make a quick paella. We usually get a rice mix from another store. Close by, we decided to venture in to find our options. Yes, we scored! There were 2 brands. We bought both to try. While there, we saw the variety of meats and seafood available in the back of the store. Store was organized and clean. Aisle signs were visible and items were easy to find. In the front, there is a cafeteria of hispanic food. They had closed during our visit. I will be back soon to try it. read more

Worst service and rotten products. I got three packages of refrigerated tortillas and when I got home I opened the first package and found rotten tortillas, I opened the other two packages and they were also rotten. I call the store to inform them and ask them to remove the other packages from their cooler so other customers would not have to go through the same experience and I was told that I have to go to the store in person. I live 17 miles away and work full time so I do not have time to go to do them a favor. I did not even ask for a refund. I just wanted to help but they hung up on me. Horrible place, stinks really bad and horrible service on top of that. read more

I must say that the people answering the phone here are extremely rude especially if you don't speak Spanish. I've been hung up on several times mocked while on the phone I could hear the lady telling somebody else what I was asking for and laughing. I've been in this location only once and that was all I need it this place stinks soon as you walk in the door and the employees are super rude. One and done with you. I moved to live in Florida a year and since I found presidente supermarket I been happy. That's market have everything I need, fresh seafood, a ton of rice and many kinds of beans, seasoning and meat prices was amazing. Why I have to pay expensive at Publix or western beef if I can pay less at Presidente. read more

This place has a more diverse selection than your local grocery store. The produce is often much cheaper than Publix, albeit with variable quality--sometimes the stuff might be overripe or small in size, and some items are seasonal. This is rarely my destination for grocery shopping; rather, I will pop in if I have time and get a few things that look good, and then head a couple blocks eastward to the Publix on Federal Hwy. Sometimes they have stuff like yucca, bok choy, dragon fruit, guava, and cactus fruit. Towards the back of the store, the meat department has fish of different sizes, head on or off. I've picked up whole fish here a couple times to make an Asian-style steamed fish (they'll clean it for you and sort of remove scales, but you'll probably have to finish up the job at home), or some nice oxtail for a stew. They have huge turkey legs, chicken feet, gizzard, etc. I've also seen frozen rabbits and less commonly found animal parts there as well. Tons of different sauces, spices, and flours, but always check your expiration dates. There is also a food court off to the side of the store that sells pastries, fresh smoothies, Cuban coffee, and hot food items. I've seen people sitting there eating, but I haven't had a chance to try that yet. Overall, the setup doesn't make for the most pleasant shopping experience. The produce section can feel a bit cluttered, but things can be significantly cheaper than Publix--for example, 5 ears of corn for a dollar, or 3 lbs of cabbage for a dollar. One of the main drawbacks is that the majority of cashiers and staff seem to speak little to no English, and it can be awkward if you ever have a question about something. read more

The Presidente Supermarket in Delray Beach stinks like dead animals right when you first step foot into this place. I was so glad to be wearing a mask but you can still smell the stench coming through the mask. I have been a Presidente Supermarket shopper for many years now. I have shopped in multiple location stores and find for the most part all the stores are well stocked, relatively clean and the prices are unbeatable. You will not find better ad prices on fruits, vegetables, dairy and chicken anywhere. Even though the prices are incredible the quality is top notch and always fresh. My only suggestion is to download the ad on their website to see all the specials that come out on Wednesdays in your area. The ad is laid out very nicely and easy to navigate. I did not give them 5 stars because of what another customer experienced and as did I. I speak English only and whenever I have had a question it is nearly impossible to find someone to communicate with. A happy customer for life! read more

Don't go in this place. It's run down. The produce is of poor quality. I bike everywhere and thus need a backpack. No bike rack here, but there is a railing to use. Decent, but not ideal. After I was just about finished with my shopping, the security guy told me I wasn't allowed to have a backpack in the store. I was already about to go to the register anyway, and I told him that. He let me go check out. I find this policy ridiculous. They do allow women to carry their purses inside the store. Can't a woman with a purse steal something just as easily? I gave them one shot, and I won't be back. Target and Publix are close to here. They allow back packs, and they have bike racks. read more

Let me start by saying this, if I could give this place a zero I would a friend told me that they have a cafeteria where you can order food and today I decided to try their cafeteria because I was working late and took a late lunch and wanted something that I could possibly eat some for and lunch and reheat the rest later on tonight for dinner......BIG MISTAKE and boy was I mistaken you are running and international grocery store/cafeteria and I put emphasis on international meaning global, worldwide, intercontinental, universal, multinational thus why would you have someone catering to the public of your store that cannot properly communicate with the diverse of people that you trying to cater to and I say that because I speak fluent English some Spanish but that is not my first language and all three ladies behind the cafeteria counter could not communicate with me with what I wanted at all I stood there for 15 minutes trying to communicate with them just to order chicken, rice and black beans and no one understood what I was saying in ENGLISH. my advise to you the owner(s) is at least have someone that's BI-Lingual and communicate in English with your customers and for this is the reason I will not be back to any Presidente Supermarket, because this was totally and utterly ridiculous have never experienced this type of poor customer service because the smart thing to do was to go and get someone who could communicate with me better and needless to say I wasted my time here and ended up leaving out of the store with nothing. I will also be giving the store manager a call to voice my dis-pleasure with the service or shall I say lack there of that I was not given. read more
