She was incredibly kind. Instead of just pointing across the room, she actually walked me over to a quiet spot, showed me where I could sit, and made sure I had everything I needed. How nice!! The library itself was bright, clean, and a welcoming space. I'll definitely be bringing my kids next time we're in the area because it looks like a place they would love.

This is a beautiful, wonderful little library in a log building in downtown Cedarville near the…read moremarina. They have a small but robust selection of fiction/nonfiction books, up-to-date magazines, books-on-tape, new DVDs (comparable to the new releases at any Redbox and only $2 for 7 days), and computers and free wireless Internet for those who need a little connection while in town. Out-of-towners can't obtain a library card unless they can supply a permanent address in the area, but there are lots of little cozy seating areas for you to enjoy reading while you're there. Our favorite part is the children's area, with plenty of books in great shape plus puzzles and felt boards and lots of things to occupy little ones. The staff is awesome, the woodwork on the floor, ceiling and bookshelves is gorgeous and they seem to be giving away books a lot or selling them for very cheap. The library is right off of Main Street and has been in this location over the pharmacy since the late 1800s. While visiting libraries isn't something we do often, there is something cool about visiting them even if you are from out of town. If you want to slow down your day hop in here and grab a book and enjoy the nice seating area they have with windows galore to take in the beautiful day in Harbor Springs.

This library is small, but what do you expect from a library on an island? Franky, I'm surprised that there's even a library on Mackinac Island. But there is, and it has a nice selection of books, magazines and movies. There's also a small kids area, with toys, puzzles, puppets, a chess set and computers with kid-friendly software on it. In the middle of the library are some long tables to sit at, and there are a few comfy chairs situated around a fireplace. This is a cute and charming public library. Of course, the public is free to visit this library. Hours vary, I think, depending on the season.

It's nice to sit in the comfy chairs and browse the newest books. Before I had a laptop, I would go there to get some work done on a borrowed computer. We borrow movies to watch while we're up there on vacation. Using the website, we can check out the holdings before we get to town. When we're there, we check out the bulletin board in the front hall. It lists a lot of local events. One time we attended a free resume writing seminar offered by Michigan Works! and held at the library. We met a very encouraging person from Michigan Works! who helped us a lot.
