However, we quickly realized that our wood was majorly infested with banded ash borers. Our project took much longer to complete because we had to fumigate the wood, put it under high heat in an oven, and then use dremel tools and compressed air to pull out the rest after all the bugs have presumably died. All while being very careful to put any remains in a bag outside so that other wood in the workshop wouldn't also get infested. We called the shop to let them know and they said that they were surprised and that was uncommon for them. I probably won't be coming back, but I'd recommend that folks at least ask about infestations and take a good inspection of their slab before buying.

You will walk into an office trailer. That's just fine by me; I came for stone, not for ambience. It is also true that (unlike every other stone shop I contacted) Elite does indeed have the "stuff" to cut stone to requested dimensions. That arsenal of tools is headed up by a two monstrous-looking hydraulic presses that slice the rock sheet as though it was sourdough bread. The staff was friendly, helpful and cut the rock to my dimension request in about 30 minutes. Price was certainly fair. I'll give them "two thumbs up"

Bought a replacement water heater from Home Depot for my home. Wanted to get it installed. Their…read moreinstaller wanted $1,630 to install it! Called my past plumber. He wanted even more. Returned the water heater to HD and visited my Brighton George T. Sanders store. Great people, even better advice. I ended up buying a better water heater from them. Wouldn't fit in my van. They said they would drop it by my house in the morning. They also suggested four plumbers I could call for installation. The plumber I chose came over the next morning. While he was here Sanders dropped off the water heater. Bottom line, even with a better water heater I ended up saving $849.93 by not getting the HD water heater and installation and $1,082.76 by not using my past plumber.
