I ordered a well, well done (no pink) filet mignon meal. Let me tell you, compliments to the chef. I believe his name was Chef Paul. This was a perfectly seasoned piece of butter tender well done fillet mignon and the broccolini with potatoes and wine sauce really set it off!!! We arrived last minute without a reservation, and despite how busy the evening was, the team graciously found a way to squeeze us in and seat us beautifully. That alone set the tone for an outstanding experience. Our server, Richard, was absolutely wonderful--professional, kind, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. His service elevated the entire evening, and we felt well cared for the whole time. My mom ordered a well-done filet mignon (she doesn't like any pink at all), which can be a very difficult request. Somehow, the kitchen delivered a steak that was still tender, juicy, and full of flavor. She genuinely said it was the best steak she has ever had, complicated order and all--which says everything. I ordered the steak and prawns, cooked medium rare, and it was cooked to perfection. Rich, flavorful, and beautifully plated. We began with soup: I had the homemade borscht, which was comforting and delicious. My mom had the autumn squash soup, which was equally flavorful and well balanced. For drinks, my mom enjoyed a White Russian, and I had the non-alcoholic cranberry spritz, which was refreshing and thoughtfully crafted. Dessert was the perfect ending: Pumpkin pie for my mom Turtle cheesecake for me--absolutely decadent and memorable What made this experience even more special is that we traveled all the way from Spokane to dine here, and it exceeded every expectation. From accommodating us last minute on Christmas to the impeccable food and service, everything was exceptional. Disappointing Stay - Poor Sleep Due to Constant Noise, Faulty Heater, and No Real Compensation…read more We checked into The Adventure Hotel in Nelson on January 10, 2026, and checked out the next morning after a very frustrating night. Upon returning to our room in the evening, we discovered the TV wasn't working at all, so no chance to relax and unwind as planned. The real issue was the lack of sleep. The wall-mounted heater/cooling unit produced a loud, intermittent buzzing noise that went on all night - impossible to ignore. The floors were extremely creaky; even walking to the bathroom woke up my partner every time. To top it off, around 4 a.m., someone in the room above us started moving furniture or chairs, creating even more disruptive banging. When checking out, I politely explained the issues to the front desk staff and mentioned I hadn't slept at all due to the constant noise. I was hoping for some goodwill, like a significant discount or a future credit, but all we received was a generic apology and a note that the room would be added to the repair list. They also mentioned we could have called for a room change (they had availability), but who wants to pack up in the middle of the night, move, and try to settle back in just to get a few hours of rest? We've stayed at the Hume Hotel several times and always had excellent, quiet, comfortable experiences there. We decided to try the Adventure Hotel this time for a change, but it was a big mistake. The location is central, but the noise issues made it impossible to recommend. If you're a light sleeper, I'd steer clear and stick with more reliable options like the Hume. Would not stay here again. 1/5 stars.

It rained during my trip and I really enjoyed sitting watching the rain fall on the lake. Since I'm from California and we don't see much rain, others experience might not be as significant. By the way, I had dinner at the hotel restaurant. It was pretty good. I had fish and chips. Crispy fresh fish and fries. 4/5 rating. Pretty darn good. This is definitely the hotel to stay at in Nelson.

We stayed in a lovely full suite on the top floor. The view was spectacular. The room is a spotlessly clean and perfectly appointed one bedroom with kitchen/living room. There is a cozy couch/Murphy-bed in the main living area and off of that is a full kitchen with all the amenities for cooking a meal (which we did!). The main bedroom has a kingsize bed and closet. There is also a washer and dryer in the master as you enter. The bathroom is a nice size with lovely tiled floors and shower. The hosts are fantastic. Marika and Elon made our stay there even better because of their friendliness and their willingness to help us with great places to eat and things to see and do.
