The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The pool was clean and maintained. The area around the hotel felt very safe, nobody loitering nearby, just hotel guests coming and going. Outside doors are all locked and open with your room key. A great property worth staying at for sure! I will book here again.

I travelled all over Alberta , Saskatchewan and BC on this last trip. We were in several hotels but…read moreonly had 1 bad experience. This Super 8 in Castlegar was by far my worst hotel experience in over 40 years of travelling. They only had excuses for everything. We arrived at 2:30 hoping to get in a bit early because check in was at 3. We had to wait until 4:30 because the room was being cleaned. Finally got in the room to find a fridge not working with frozen cola dripping down the inside from the freezer. The toilet had urine all over the base and the bathroom floors were filthy. Staff had to let us into the pool because the room key would not allow entry. The hot tub wreaked from poor water chemistry. Than to top it off I had already paid in full with Expedia. They charged my card again. Now 10 days later i get my refund and Super 8 has kept $22.68 and claimed it was for taxes unpaid by Expedia. This is an issue between Super 8 and Expedia but they took the liberty of charging the bystander, me. Now lets really bring it home Super 8 charged me $173.88 and that would have been my cost Expedia had charged me but now super 8 took an additional $22.68 this would not have bothered me had they not taken the liberty of taking the $22.68 from me rather than Expedia who was at fault. To top it off the person at Super 8 belittled me and offered no compromise other than a sarcastic TOO BAD. do yourself a favor and stay away from this unfriendly poorly managed hotel I only gave 1 star because that seemed to be the lowest rating

It felt modern, was very clean and has good wifi. I had expected something slummier for a Super 8 based on previous experience. I would definitely stay in this hotel again.
