My full kitchen plan was provided to Cascade along with the details that I was in a second floor condo. All went well until not long before the install is scheduled to occur they send me a final plan to sign that shows my island quartz being cut in half. They assumed there was a freight elevator in a 4 storey residential condo and never bothered to ask. There is not!! So they just decide the right thing to do is cut it in half. They refuse to bring it up the stairs and tell me it weighs 900 lbs which is an exaggeration because they don't want to bring it up the stairs. I offer to pay for a crane or something to lift it to my balcony and they tell me they cannot help me with arranging this. They make no efforts and offer no suggestions as to where I might be able to seek help with this as I am trying to problem solve. When I arrange this on my own they communicate with the contractor that I have hired, paid and arranged for on my own and give him so much cause for concern he understandably backs out. I decide to change my order to an even lighter weight so that they can bring it up the stairs or maybe hire a professional moving company to assist. Two days before install is scheduled and all the trades are lined up behind them they back out. This company should have attended the site from the beginning or asked key important questions about the location and access to my condo from the beginning. If they couldn't accommodate the job they should have let me know this so that I could hire another company. The manager promised to call me back and instead he made one of his office staff deliver this news to me.

The folks working on his behalf made numerous mistakes, causing the project to go over time (by multiple weeks) and over budget, to the point we terminated working with them and had to finish the project ourselves (which was more time and more money for us). If Joe had been on site, it may have gone differently, but in the end, it was a very upsetting experience. Looking online, I see only the positive, raving reviews, but the company has been in business for so long that I wonder where the other reviews are...? If your project is unusual at all, shop around.

When I first met with Joe, he was very personable and gave good advice/suggestions! Sometimes, we think we know what we want, but when it gets close to getting done...not so much! Do It All Contracting had reasonable rates/pricing; e.g. another contractor was going to charge $20.00 more per hour for the electrical work. I was very satisfied with the workmanship and the work was completed on budget and schedule!

I have been dealing with construction companies for over 17 years…read more I have never seen a job so poorly done with total disregard for the overall project. It was a simple garage pad and sidewalk however Derek concrete was absolutely the worst choice. The garage pad is noncompliant with the city of Edmonton even though they were given proper permit locations. The sidewalks are crooked and uneven with improper expansion joints. The driveway is too steep causing my car to bottom out each time I drive in and out of my garage. water is pooling in the garage pad. The water is coming in from the man door right underneath the frame into the garage obviously they've sloped the concrete into the garage not away from it . The crew also left my outside tap running causing a small flood in my basement .I have contacted Derrick concrete general manager and they are unwilling to fix any of their problems. The water in my garage is approximately 1 inch deep- which will be a drywall mold nightmare! The broom finish that they have put on the sidewalk is horrendous the trolling is bulging and not even done in some areas. I spoke with the city of Edmonton for by law and they agree that the garage pad is terrible. I have also spoken with the Better Business Bureau. Please save yourself money and headache and do not use Derek concrete for any of your projects.

This is one of very few contractors I've had working for me, where I actually felt like I got more than I paid for. I believe that you may find cheaper contractors, but I doubt you'll ever find a contractor that will give you better value for you dollar... as the saying goes... if you think it's expensive to hire a professional, just try hiring an amateur. Another contractor had to be paid to completely rip out the tile floor they laid out and redo everything again. Jessi was quick to quote and take the job; however, we discovered after the fact that they had no idea about putting in sub-floors or how to mix cement and grout. We could literally tap out the tiles after they had finished their job because there was so little gluing the uneven tiles to the flooring. The grout they had put was washing and dusting out for days after the job was supposedly complete. They left the area dirty and messy and tracked mud everywhere. All and all an absolutely horrible job. We tried to reach out to them to come and fix the job, but either they promised and did not show or they had an excuse of some sort, and then they wouldn't even answer our phone calls. Beware if you give them a job.
