So I called the Nexair plumbing division of the company who installed my HVAC last summer. The young man came, determined it was the "fill valve" and stated the cost would be $350.00. I wrote the check knowing I was being cheated. The fill valve is a $15 part (per Home Depot). He spent 15 minutes doing the job. Also, he kept dallying wanting to stay in my house as i kept trying to lead him to the door. Later, i saw him parked outside my house AGAIN! I think he was racking up time for the outrageous charge. I contacted the company and asked for a supervisor to call me and explain the charge. I received no call. I wrote all of this and submitted to the WV attorney general. Nothing will come of it, but I'm disgusted. Senior citizens are vulnerable.

After a couple months of sweltering heat and humidity, ventilating bad air, and searching northeast Kentucky for someone to replace the Aspen condenser coils and old outside heat pump, my search was over when Buddy Hutchison gave me the good news I needed. He responded promptly with a very reasonable estimate and confirmation that he could in fact replace the A/C system components. Buddy and his crew arrived on time and in a few hours, installed a new Aspen condenser coil unit (R-32, with TXV and leak detection) and a R-32 compatible Goodman 3-ton A/C heat pump. It's good to know there is a local HVAC contractor around that is focused on your needs, with the knowledge, professionalism, courtesy, and integrity, that a customer would expect.
