I unfortunately had a really poor experience at Donna's Bridals, so please take my review as a…read morecautionary tale. I went to Donna to shorten the straps on my wedding dress and add a bustle. The bodice of my dress fit perfectly before seeing Donna Bridals. Appt 1 (12/9/25) - consultation. Donna suggested to shorten the straps and bring it in towards the center a little, due to the original strap placement being too far out/wide on my frame. I agreed to the professional's advice. Appt 2 (1/24/26) - the dress no longer fit. The straps could not even go over my shoulders AT ALL. The dress couldn't zip up all the way anymore. I questioned why this was the case if she only shortened the straps - Donna said she wasn't sure and suggested that I gained weight. With it being post-holidays, I naively believed her. Feeling dissociated and upset, I went along with her suggestions for the next appointment (lengthen the strap and let out the sides of the bodice). When I went back home I stepped on the scale, and I was exactly the same weight as before (my weight doesn't easily fluctuate). Either way, it is incredibly unprofessional to suggest that the client's body is the problem. Appt 3 (2/28/26) - The dress still did not fit. Donna still didn't have an answer for me as for why, besides me gaining weight. I do have some experience sewing, and I'm pretty sure the mistake was bringing in the strap placement towards the center, and sewing down the side to blend it with the original seam. This would take away a few centimeters from the bust, hence the dress fitting a lot more tightly. It is unfortunate that she cut off this "excess" fabric, otherwise she could've undone the mistake. She also had the bustle done at this appointment and that was fine. Appt 4 (3/1/26) - She let out the bodice so I could breathe with the dress zipped up all the way, and the straps finally could go over my shoulders. However, the consequence of bringing in the straps towards the center and sewing down the side, pulled the back of the straps towards the front a bit as well. The straps used to lay beautifully flat on my back before any alterations were done, but as you can see in the pics, the back straps began gaping. She suggested to cut the boning and sew darts to fix the gaping on the back straps. I paid more money for her to fix the problems that her work created (they were never problems before I went to her). After a few sleepless nights, I finally realized this situation was poorly handled and I was very uncomfortable with my dress in Donna's possession. The sunken-cost fallacy and my naivety kept me from realizing this sooner. I had an appt a week later and there I asked for my money back, as well as my dress. She went on to explain what she did with the straps of the dress and such, but still could not explain why the dress fit so tightly at Appt 2 and onward, besides suggesting that I've been eating too much. At this point, I was exhausted and just wanted at least some of my money back and my dress. She gave me the money back from the work she did not do yet from Appt 4 and my botched wedding dress. All in all, I paid ~$500 to have my wedding dress ruined. What should have been a straight-forward alteration (shorten the straps, add a bustle) became a convoluted, stressful situation that I wouldn't wish upon any bride. A new problem would arise at every appointment, and I continued to pay out of my pocket (again, my naivety and the sunken-cost fallacy). I ended up getting a new wedding dress that was around the same cost of what I paid Donna, and altered it myself as I couldn't risk it. It is one thing for a professional to make a mistake, take responsibility, and do their best to make it better, but when they instead deny it and blame the client for it, it is very disheartening and manipulative. I am sure other clients have had a great experience all-around with Donna (i.e. all the positive reviews), but unfortunately that really was not the case for me. Nonetheless, I wish Donna all the best. Please take my review as a cautionary tale.

I brought in a pair of satin pants to be hemmed for an all-white event. When I dropped them off,…read morethe male owner was very kind and professional. He was honest that the alteration might be difficult, asked me to send a photo of the original pants from Amazon so they could see how they were designed, and even pinned the length while explaining that if they couldn't do the alteration properly, they would let me know. I really appreciated his honesty and communication. My father-in-law was a tailor before he retired, so I understand the skill that goes into quality alterations. That's why I explained that I simply wanted the new hem to follow the original angled hemline rather than be cut straight across, preserving the shape of the pants. Unfortunately, my experience with the female owner, who performed the alterations, was much different. When I stopped by a couple of days later because I hadn't received the promised phone call, my pants were still sitting off to the side. As I explained again how I wanted the hem done, she repeatedly said it was "very difficult" over and over again. I told her several times that if she wasn't comfortable doing it, that was completely okay--I would rather hear "no" than have the pants altered incorrectly. She eventually agreed to do them but continued to emphasize how difficult they were. She kept repeating do not complain when it is done, do not complain. I told her I will if it's not done correctly. She also asked me to pay before the work was completed, which I politely declined. When I picked up the pants, the alteration itself was excellent. The hem was exactly what I had asked for, and I genuinely appreciate the quality of the workmanship. However, the pants had been attached to the hanger with safety pins, which left tiny holes in the satin fabric. I told her look you put holes in it. She just brushed me off. After I paid, I asked a quick question about pricing for future alterations, but I was she brushed me off because she was taking a personal phone call. As bad as her customer service was I was willing to ignore it for future alterations but after the brushing off, that put the icing on the cake for me. The quality of the tailoring deserves recognition, and I would never take that away from them. Unfortunately, the customer service from the female owner did not match the quality of the work. I hope the customer experience improves because the craftsmanship is definitely there.

Most places wouldn't have been able to do that, but Zatsarina's really came through. My first fitting was on August 24th with a second scheduled for September 18th and finally a pickup for October 4th. Gina was so efficient and diligent explaining what needed to be done (take in the shoulder straps, hem, bustle, etc). My first visit was thorough and she explained everything perfectly. All of the alterations would come to $800 (as I had bought off the rack at another boutique). When I came in for my fitting everything was looking great and only a few minor tweaks needed to be made. All in all, a great experience. There was a bit of a hiccup at the end when it wasn't fully ready for my pickup and still needed to be steamed. They made it work and were able to finish it while I waited. I didn't entirely like dealing with her husband but Gina was EXCEPTIONAL. She suggested a video on how to bustle which was super helpful for later. As I mentioned, I had a difficult request with such a quick turnaround time, but I'm so grateful for how everything turned out and how Gina was willing to help and deliver such high quality service.
