God Bless Dr. Binns! I'm a big fan…read more
To start off, he's super friendly, funny, and upbeat! Also, he remembers who you are, and I mean DETAILS. Not just your name that he saw on your chart before you walked in. I mean any conversation we had that wasn't about my pain/body/issues were him asking follow up questions to things I had told him about my life in previous visits. He always remembered. And whether he's taking notes and referring to them before each visit, or he actually just remembers, either way it's amazing customer service!
I first went to him in September 2021 for severe hip pain. It was an issue I had struggled with on and off for years, but none of the methods I'd had previous success with were working anymore, including my other chiropractor (who performs a completely different type of chiropractic care). I was in excruciating pain, and it was highly disruptive to my life.
Before even taking my X-Rays, he had me lay down, and he worked his hands and fingers all over my joints, and he could actually pinpoint every single place that was an issue, without my saying a word. I was pretty impressed by that right away!
He does ALL different kinds of treatment. From the traditional twisting and popping (OMG, you should go just for that!), to the Activator Adjusting Instrument (the spring loaded tool that some people refer to as a "gun"), to using different segments of the drop table to manipulate your body back into alignment, to various other methods. No holds barred. Though I never once expected to be immediately "cured," and knew it would take some time, and the course of many treatments, before I would really start to feel relief - Dr. Binns aims higher. It is his goal every time for you to not be in pain when you leave his office, and he shoots for that.
I saw Dr. Binns pretty regularly for about a month and a half, and then life just got in the way. I saw him again one time in December of 2021, and then had to move away in the beginning of February. The last week or two before I moved, my hip pain returned with a vengeance. I knew I badly needed treatment, but I felt like I'd undone all of our progress, and I did not think one visit would even help. But I finally decided I just had to try. I knew I would regret not getting one last adjustment if I moved away and had an extended wait before finding someone new, and getting started again. So I called his office. They were booked up, but agreed to let me come in as the last visit of the day.
I told him when I arrived that I had to move away, so that it would be my last visit at least for awhile. That I'd like to still come see him when I was in the area, but that I just didn't know when or if that would ever be. He was amazing. He took a lot of extra time with me, including pulling out his high powered massage tool to get my muscles loosened up before he started. He did all of his normal treatment methods, and then a couple more! He was determined to do everything he could possibly do to help before I left.
...and THEN! Then he gave me my X-Rays so that I could take them with me to whatever chiropractor I saw next, so that they did not have to start from scratch, and I wouldn't have to pay for new X-Rays up front! I have NEVER had another chiropractor do that! I was seriously impressed.
The cherry on top was that the one visit DID HELP! It actually helped a great deal! The pain was still there, but for at least the whole first week it was just a dull ache, and not the unbearable agony I was in before I saw him that day. I am now 3 weeks out from having seen him, and the pain is getting worse, but still nowhere near as bad as it was that day. Some days there is a lot of pain, but other days I barely notice it.
I am just so pleased that he was the doctor I chose last fall, and am utterly grateful for all that he did for me. I will certainly make plans to stop in for an adjustment any time I am back in his area.
