Need new suitcase. Lost two wheels on ours.
    Courtenay O.

Big store with lots of stuff! We were on a mission to replace our suitcase which lost 2 of its 4 wheels. We were successful! We found a black It suitcase for €55, but in line we saw a Primark black suitcase for €42 and a little smaller. We got it instead. As we walked through the store, we were amazed by everything for sale! And the prices were reasonable. I wished that we had more time and my feet hurt less from all the walking around Amsterdam.

Wearing my new coat, a half hour after purchase!

The weather changed a lot quicker than I was expecting and so I was finding myself in severe need of a warm coat for my time in Amsterdam. Primark to the rescue where I not only found a fab inexpensive coat in the right size but even with a hood and it was, get this, only €20! An insane bargain. At that price, it doesn't even matter how long it lasts because it met my immediate need. And then my friend convinced me that I would need another bag because I was apparently complaining too much that I couldn't buy any stuff because my suitcase was already full so we found a nice black bag for another €15. It looks like a large version of those black bags that doctors making house calls used to carry. The coat did great for my time in Amsterdam and my wife LOVES the bag that I bought. It's hers now. €35 for a coat and a bag. And a great selection of other stuff here at Primark. So glad we found this in Amsterdam! [Review 12073 overall, 1856 of 2019.]

My one wish is not for world peace but it's for a Primark in America because I spent way to much time inside of this location stocking up on so many great deals. This Primark is whopping 6 floors and is in some ways what we'd call a discount store in America, but it's like a mix of H&M, with a little Target mixed in held on a budget. For me I was really happy to see the men's selection being so large. Like larger than any other store ever. I got swimming trunks for 5 euros, sweat shorts for 3 euros. T shirts for 10 euros. I felt like everything ended up being cheaper than listed on the tag which I'm definitely not complaining about. They had home products like luggage and beauty products as well. Honestly, I kept combing the aisles to see if there was anything else I needed. Tons of staff working so the check out lines were moving quickly. You must stop here if you're looking for some budget-friendly clothing. They always told me shopping in Europe was so expensive, but Primark is definitely breaking that rule without skimping on quality.

Primark in Amsterdam reminded me of back home in the UK, where Primark is a huge brand which sells mainly budget fashion, before seeing this store I was unaware how big Primark was as a brand outside of the UK and Ireland (where 61% of its stores are based) and this branch on Damrak in Amsterdam, is actually one of 19 stores the company has in the Netherlands. The store really does scream to me, your average Primark, it has some decent and slightly modern features and the rest your slightly cluttered more budget fashion range you'd often expect from Primark. It is also quite a large store, over multiple floors. The store is also in a great location, a couple of tram stops away or even within walking distance from Central Station, which was convenient for me as I was staying there during my time in Amsterdam. A refreshing face (high-street brand) to see while I was lost in Amsterdam, in a decent location within walking distance of many parts of Amsterdam, and the fact it is also close to a tram stop is a bonus so this store is a rather nice, decent store and I'm pleased to say it deserves a solid three-star rating.

Where you come on the -1 floor to try on clothes

My dad purchased a pair of jeans from this shop aeons ago in Belgium and it's a pair of jeans that he has greatly loved. So when on the tram to Centraal, saw this shop, we hopped off and headed to -1 level, and quickly located the jeans section, since everything is laid out really well. We also found a staffer really quickly to help us out and he also directed us to the changing rooms. BTW, Look for signs for "Paskamers" on the -1 floor to try on clothes and the "Betaal Hier" to pay. One note - we shopped here and Sunday and it was massively busy. I think because of the great location you get not just lookers but also tons of tourists, so just be careful navigating the store aisles! Yelp 179/ 2018

Great inventory and great prices. There are about six floors of merchandise. Everything from shoes to hairspray.

There is a large selection. They also have some polo shirts. The owner was super helpful and friendly. I bought a really cool Pucci-style print shirt and smart striped polo shirt in a deco style. They are open 1-7 everyday!

The Shirt Shop, I always thought was named Shirtz or something because that's what's on the label. Came here years ago after noticing their unique line of dress shirts/party shirts/unique patterned shirts right in front of the window. The shirts are everything from fancy to cool to hip. I got one! Woohoo. I got a Shirtz. Depending on your choice each shirt can cost 100-300+ Euros. Sizing can be limited at times. Meaning Men's 42+ (when I visited, I recalled the sizing for smaller than Men's size 40 was very limited). The boutique store is small in itself, literally just an aisle downstairs. Dressing room is upstairs, the other aisle spaced section, with some more but limited options like shorts, t-shirts, bags, etc... I thought the staff to be quite helpful, answered my questions on refund policy (not that I used it, but nothing wrong with inquiring), stock in sizing and customizing. All in all not a bad experience just to look.

All these years shopping for clothes at big departmental stores had me forget what a memorable and…read morepersonable experience it used to be growing up when we all had our favourite stores for different kinds of clothing. De Mof has been around for more than 100 years and have preserved the personalised experience for all their patrons. The owner is a nice gentle old man who goes out of his way to find exactly the right fit for you. I went in looking for a new belt and ended up getting extra holes in my current belt along with a new one. They stock a lot of designs and sizes, too. The layout is tasteful and you can see that they have personally designed the interior. There are also 3 fitting rooms inside. I also bought a pair of jeans, and the owner personally followed me with different designs and fits. He also suggested the perfect fits after I tried all of them. This is what service should be - not a bunch of teenagers walking around folding jeans you tried. In the end, I settled with a pair and the owner adjusted the length on the spot. Turns out he's also got a sewing machine for immediate alterations! The cash register is old style and I couldn't see any technology during the check-out process, except for the PIN reader. Even the receipt is handwritten. They have an 8 day return policy, but I doubt I'd be returning my purchase. I sure will go back to buy more, as should you.
