Ever since Dr. Johnson went with this management company the service has gone downhill from years past.

Dr. Elena Gabor's office is always timely when they make an appointment. She is also thorough when you come in for a physical exam. The only issue is when you call in to make an appointment the cellphone wait is long. read more

Came in at 8:20 for an 8:30 appt. They had instructed me to fill out patient forms online. I didn't realize I'd have to print all this paperwork so I thought I'd just do it when I got there. The moment I was signing in and expressed I needed the paperwork, a sigh came from the mouth of the blonde woman up front. No greeting, no kindness ... It was like I was inconveniencing her. Kim didn't know how to read my insurance and tried to charge me an out of pocket that I know I didn't have. I called my insurance and I was correct. I gave her the phone for the lady to explain it to her. Just wasn't pleased with her attitude. Medical Assistant Trish was fantastic once I got taken back. Saw Dr. Gohill and she was fantastic! Worst place ever! It took me 2 weeks calling 3-4 times per day NO ONE picks up the phone... walked in to the office was told to make an appointment online made an appointment next available 2-1/2 weeks later had confirmation of my appointment go there doors are locked note on the door as of today no longer have fri appointments no one called or anything bang on the door someone comes and says their website is messed up for a month shouldn't have made an appointment and they no longer take my insurance and when i made the appointment it verified my insurance card... no one calls to let you know this or cancel the appointment or anything until read more

I've been calling them for over a week for an appointment because I hurt my leg. For over a week I get no call-back at all. Today I go online and finally get an appointment scheduled. NOW the girl (who came on with an awful attitude) finally calls me back, telling me that they would need to push my appointment out until April, because apparently Dr. Johnson has a lot of rules about who can be seen at what days and times for what conditions. I was also told that if I did make an appointment, if they didn't receive my doctors notes before the appointment, that I would be turned away without being seen (the woman on the phone sounded almost excited to be telling me this). The only other option they could give me, since I was injured and they had already wasted a week of my time, was to let me see a Nurse Practitioner, who I would have to make my PCP. So basically they wasted an entire week of my time, ignoring my phone calls and voicemails, only to be absolutely no help what-so-ever when I got to actually speak to them. *Update* One of the ladies from the business called me to see if there was something they could do to make things better so I would change my review. The answer is no. You should have done something to make it right when I originally contacted you. Coming back and apologizing later doesn't make up for horrible customer service, and ridiculous policies. Doctor Johnson came off as an inconsiderate control freak, and the lady I spoke to gave the impression that they could care less about good customer service. Dr Gohil has been our family physician for 25 years. In the past several years this practice has gone down hill. When my dr. Is out on vacation which is a lot , no one will help. I ran out of a life saving prescription while she was away for a month, and no one else would fill the prescription! Unexceptable. I am switching practices immediately. I'm done. read more

Existing patient. Have tried calling for a solid week every day at various times. They never answer the phone. At 10 minutes till closing time an automated service picks up and says basically, screw you we are closed. Call 911 for an emergency or leave a number and some answering service might call you back. Next I tried the portal to try to email them, I can't submit a message due to "certain typed characters" not being allowed, but removing all symbols and punctuation doesn't help. This is no longer my doctor's office. They always wrongly billed my insurance so I would get bills or checks from overpaid copays. They would leave me waiting 45 minutes to go over lab work that they didn't have back. They sent my medical file to the wrong specialist with a referral for a problem I never had. Elena Gabor, MD is less helpful than Webmd.com. She blamed my digestion issues on eating "too many gravies." !!! I'm a vegetarian white girl from Jersey, exactly how many gravies do you think I'm eating? There was one blond nurse that was always very nice, and seemed to be really good at her job. I hope she realizes where she works and finds a place worthy of her. If your the kind of person that goes to the doctor once a year when you need a z-pak, this place might be OK, but CVS has a clinic that's just as helpful. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Gabor for over a year. I find her, intelligent, caring and very knowledgeable medically. Sometimes the wait time is way too long but emergencies happen and I hope I would be helped if I needed fast attention; the phone lines get messed up sometimes (thats why a 4) but the care has been wonderful. read more

Excellent office, staff and doctors. Dr. Johnson is my doctor and since my recent hospitalization he has helped me out a lot. He listens to everything I have to say. He cares about my health. I would recommended this practice to anyone. read more

Unfortunately I don't feel comfortable recommending anyone this particular care center due to the bad experience I had with Dr. Gabor's medical assistant. All I did was call to ask some questions regarding a medical matter and her assistant called back with the most unprofessional tone and rudeness. I was shocked and how she spoke to me as a patient and how she interrupted multiple times and ended the conversation abruptly without me ever being able to explain fully my questions and concern. read more

I wish I could give zero stars. I have anxiety and on my last visit the meds that I have been on for five years would not be refilled by Dr. Gohill. I let her know that I was out. I was told it interferes with some lab tests which based on medical review journals appears to be a lie. So I was told by Katie, the medical assistant that once the lab test was done my refill would be sent. I did the lab test and left messages for 2 days that were never returned. And then lied to about how my phone went directly to voicemail. Yet no message was left. I called every day for a week. And today, Friday, I find out that my results were received but that my meds can't be written for 3 weeks because the Dr. is out of town. I beside myself. This has created much more anxiety for me. I was told by Katie to see another doctor for my script which is controlled if I really need it before 3 weeks. The whole point is to not go shopping multiple offices. So now I must pay for another office visit to someone new to try and get the meds that were being withheld with the knowledge the doctor would be out of town. This is completely irresponsible and terrible service. I will not be returning. I will tell everyone I know about this unacceptable situation. read more

I have waited over three months since by final appointment with Dr. Elena Gabor in order to let my anger subside before writing a review of my experiences at Primary Care Center at Lake Mary. I had three appointments with Dr. Gabor. My first appointment was for a general physical. Upon entering the examination room Dr. Gabor sat on a seat that was above my head so I had to look up to her. I am accustomed to talking "with" my physician, not "up to" my physician. The physical seemed to be comprehensive. I asked for some help with smoking cessation and Dr. Gabor recommended Chantix, which I refused to use because of the many negative side affects associated with this drug. The only other recommendations she made were ones I had already tried unsuccessfully. She had no other suggestions. When the physical exam was finished and I had dressed, Dr. Gabor re-entered the room and said she was going to write some prescriptions for me. At that point I handed her written instructions for the two drugs that I take on a regular basis. She re-entered the room several minutes later and stated that she did not know that I was taking one of the drugs. I found this to be odd, since I had filled out the pre-appointment paper work a month before my appointment, which included all of my medications. She proceeded to write four prescriptions (two of which I did not fill) and send them to Publix pharmacy. Once again, odd since my written instructions specifically stated that prescriptions were to be sent to Express Scripts with three refills. Several weeks later, when I received the bill from Primary Care Center at Lake Mary for my first appointment, an EKG was included, even though I did not have it done at that time. At my second appointment, I had to wait 41 minutes before seeing Dr. Gabor. Once again she assumed a seat that was above my head. I asked about the results of my chest X-ray which I had taken after my first appointment. When she showed me the report, it stated "No prior study is available for comparison at this time". Again, odd since a month before my appointment with Dr. Gabor, I signed an "Authorization for release of protected health information" addressed to my previous physician who had several chest X-rays from previous physical exams. Since she did not volunteer the results of my echocardiogram which I also had taken after my first appointment, I asked her for the results. She stated that the report was incomplete at present, but that it showed that I had valves that were "leaking", but that it was not "serious". She did not give me a copy of the "incomplete" report, nor did she offer me any reassurance that the "leaking" valves were, indeed, "not serious". During the appointment, I told Dr. Gabor that I did not appreciate the fact that she wrote prescriptions for drugs that I neither wanted nor needed. At the end of the appointment, I asked that she send a prescription to Express Scripts for three refills of the two drugs that I need. She sent a refill for ninety days with no other refills. Subsequently, she has refused to write any refill prescriptions. At my third and final appointment, I took a seat on the exam room table so that I would be able to talk "with" her and not "up" to her. When Dr. Gabor enter the exam room, she immediately stated that my blood pressure was still high and started talking about remedies. At that point I interrupted her. Before we went on to something new, I wanted to know what she had learned about me so far. Her response was to ask me what I meant. I stated that several tests had been run and I wanted to know the complete results. I specifically said "What have we learned about me so far?". Her response again was to ask me what I meant. Since my last appointment with her, I had been given an EKG, so I asked for the results. Her response was to ask when it was taken. Since she had her laptop with her, all of test results should have been right there. I never saw the results for my EKG, nor did I see the results of echocardiogram. At my wits end with Dr. Gabor, I got off of the exam table, and yelled at her to follow instructions and write prescriptions for three refills for my two drugs. Her response was to say that I should get another physician. I told her that was a foregone conclusion. She walked out saying that she could not understand my anger. Her notes state that a "discharge letter" was to be sent. I have never received any discharge letter. In conclusion, even though my experience with Dr. Gabor was extremely unpleasant and exasperating, I found the front-office personnel and the technicians administering my tests to be extremely helpful, pleasant, knowledgeable, and professional. In my opinion, the only good thing Dr. Gabor did for me was to recommend that I see a Urologist, Dr. Marvin J. Young, who has turned out to be a gem. Obviously, I will never return to Primary Care Center at Lake Mary. read more

I came here for some time without any complaint, but recently made an appointment and had it cancelled. The appointment was cancelled by the Primary Care Center on the day of the appointment. I had a medical issue that was concerning to me, but I did not know if it warranted more serious treatment. When they cancelled the appointment the reason they gave was that they did not have the ability to image on site, and suggested that I should go to a hospital. I told them I understood that they did not have the ability to image on site and clarified that I was not asking for imaging services. Despite having insurance my financial situation would not allow me to go to the hospital unless it was an emergency. I had asked for the appointment in the first place to determine if it was an emergency because I could not afford to spend the hundreds or thousands of dollars a hospital visit might cost. I asked for advice finding a more affordable option and they cut me off saying that if I did not want to follow their advice I should find another provider. I can understand that they are concerned with being held liable for an inappropriate level of care, but the reality of the situation is I cannot afford the treatment options they had suggested and I was left without an appointment or advice other than "go to the hospital." I felt like they did not care enough to suggest more affordable options and treated me more like a source of revenue and/or liability than a patient. read more

They will fire you from the practice if you don't return their call. I have never seen this in my life. My husband received a nasty letter saying that as of today, you are no longer accepted as a patient. I called to find out why and they said that it was because he didn't call back. No warnings, nothing. i asked them if Dr. Johnson would reconsider and they were prompt to say "No". Didn't want to hear if we had an emergency, if we were out of the country or anything. The doctors were ok, but only if you have three months to wait for an appointment. With scheduled appointment time wait can be greater than 45 mins. The front staff will lie about you being next and you will see people come in after you and get called in before you. If you questioned them they would reply they have an appointment, my comment was, so did I and I waited three months for this appointment. I finally walked out and never to return. They sent me a letter to state that I will no longer be available to receive treatment at this office. Well, they made me very happy. This happened twice and will not recommend this office to anyone. You can be sure that I will not be returning to this office! I went for a women's wellness exam, was told I had to have a physical first, both were to be NO CHARGE. I ended up with charges that I foolishly paid and immediately disputed. I had to get the insurance company involved because the people in the billing department of the drs. office would either ignore my calls, messages and emails, or say very nicely and convincingly what they were going to do to help me and never do it. They absolutely REFUSED to let me speak with Dr. Gabor. Initially they made every excuse for why the charges were accurate. This drs. office was a nightmare to deal with for myself and the insurance company. It took ONE YEAR (and more telephone calls than can be counted) to get refunded: 6 months to convince them they owed me the money, and another 6 months to finally receive MY money that sat in "credit" under my name. Had I and especially the insurance company not been persistent, they would still have my money. read more
