But this is my honest opinion, too ---- what health insurance has absolutely ruined about the family doctor experience over the past few decades, Dr. Rice is restoring through her innovative insurance-free monthly-subscription family practice. You just bring yourself and your children in to see the doctor, she runs the appropriate tests in house, tells is to you like it is, and then gives you the care you really want for yourself and your kids. I still keep health insurance around of course just in case of catastrophic hospitalization-requiring issues, but I literally never use it because going in to see Dr. Rice is hands down always the preferable option by SUCH a wide margin.

I would give his other doctors a lower rating but once I saw Bacak I was floored. He has recommended psychiatrists and counselors for me in the BCS area that are LGBT+ friendly (this must stem from his adoption of many different children transitioning through adolescence). Also, when I saw him with a sinus infection, he was quick enough to diagnose me accurately within 15 minutes. I cannot recommend this man enough! The nurses are friendly and youthful as well.

And, I can not even express how much I appreciate nurse Kelley's help. She has patiently walked me through getting better when spilling ketones. They are fast in submitting paperwork for medical supplies and even faster in responding to our emails.

He explained in detail every step of the process of getting my blood work done and filing with my insurance. He is the only reason they are getting two stars instead of one. His staff is completely undependable and unprofessional. Dr. Crumpler told me I needed to set up a PIN number to be able to log in to the patient dashboard he communicates with his patients through. I forgot to get the PIN number upon checking out and the receptionist said nothing about it. I tried calling the next day during normal business hours to no avail. I called five different times throughout the day with no answer. It being Friday, I waited through the weekend and began calling again on Monday, still with no answer. I sent several emails to the front desk email telling them I was having trouble getting through on the phone and never got a response. I decided that I would just have to go over there Tuesday morning when I finally got an answer on the phone. I told her about the trouble I was having getting through on the phones and she told me to just email if I ever had trouble with the phones again because she "always has her email pulled up." While I was on the phone with her I was able to get the PIN I needed to log into the patient dash board. She assured me it would take 2-3 business days to be able to see my blood work results on the patient dashboard just as Dr. Crumpler had told me. I patiently waited another three business days with still no results. I called up there (taking countless tries to get an answer) to let them know I still had no results posted. The lady who answered seemed surprised they had not been posted and said she would make sure they would be posted that day and someone would be calling me that afternoon or the next day to discuss my results with me. I did indeed see my results that day but did not receive any phone calls. I waited several business days and still no call. I enlisted the help of the friend who referred me to Dr. Crumpler, and who is also a patient, to try and get some answers for my results (I am not a doctor and have no idea what all of the numbers mean) She tried contacting Dr. Crumpler's wife, Kelly, who also works at the office personally in order to try and get a phone call to discuss my results. With a lot of back and forth, Kelly finally said she would have someone call me. I finally received a phone call from Emily, a lady in Dr. Crumpler's office who can speak to a patient about their results, two weeks and two days after my initial visit with Dr. Crumpler. She apologized for taking so long to respond and informed me that she was still in the hospital. Several minutes into the conversation, her dog started barking and she quickly tried to shush the dog. She was not in the hospital. Overall I would never recommend this practice to anyone who I know. If Dr. Crumpler had different staff members I think it would be a completely different story. There is no excuse to take that long to get back to a patient on their blood work results and give them the run around and lie to them when they are trying to get answers. Maybe you will have better luck that I did.
