Before working with them, we were struggling with his intense fear-based aggression--lunging, snarling, and snapping at strangers, even after repeated introductions. It was heartbreaking because, at home, he was a loving and well-mannered companion, but out in the world, his anxiety made everyday activities stressful and unpredictable. After spending six weeks with Manny and Kelsey, Marcus has made an unbelievable turnaround. He is now able to be in public without lunging, growling, or reacting aggressively. He is calmer, more confident, and better equipped to handle new experiences without fear. While we never expected him to become a completely different dog, he has truly become the best version of himself--happier, more at ease, and able to meet life's challenges in a way we never thought possible. The team at Humble Paws didn't just train Marcus; they understood him, worked with his needs, and gave him (and us) the tools to succeed. Their patience, expertise, and dedication have been life-changing, and we are forever grateful for the progress they've helped him achieve. If you're struggling with a reactive dog and wondering if there's hope--there is. We wholeheartedly recommend Humble Paws!

He truly cares about dogs and does not want any to be given up or put down bc of behavioral issues. I highly recommend humble paws, you won't regret it!

Last year, we got Ginger to be his pal. Unfortunately, we now live in Wyoming. Though we seriously thought about sending her to California, that was a bit overwhelming. But, low and behold, we found that Emily took her training to Colorado! Though it was a 5 hour drive each way, we knew the training, and wanted it for 7 month old Ginger as well. Ginger stayed with Emily alone for the first two weeks, then we brought Rudy down to join her for her last week of training. The refresher was excellent for him, and the two of them learned how to work together. The result is that I now have TWO well behaved pups. They are great off leash, which is important because they get their exercise on the golf course immediately behind our house. When golfers show up, the pups stay in place until the golfers move on. Perfect! Ginger was young when she received her training, so we continue to work with her on her skills. I would say that she is a good 90% of where I would like her to be. Excellent! A dog who knows its parameters and what is expected is a happy dog. Thanks so Emily's fantastic work, we are a very peaceful and content family. My arm stays in the socket because Ginger no longer darts for what ever catches her eye. The two of them walk beside me like champs. You really, really NEED to take your dog to Emily. You will both be happy you did.

Ever since Nugget was a pup, he dealt with anxiety and listening skills (as in not having any) and didn't have any way to cope with his problems. He would charge at people and dogs, which eventually got him kicked out of a local boarding facility. We tried everything from medications to CBD oils and nothing would work. My husband and I travel a lot so we needed to come up with another solution. From our first phone call with Emily, we knew that she would be able to help us so we signed Nugget up for a 3 week board and train program. Drop off was smooth and we immediately felt comfortable leaving our dog with Emily for a few weeks. There was no direct communication during the 3 weeks (no news is good news plan), but Emily is very good about posting on the EC Dog training Instagram. Seeing Nugget's progress every few days was very helpful to us and put our minds at ease! We've been home with Nugget for over a week now and I can't even begin to describe how much he has changed! With simple commands and use of his e-collar we can eat meals in peace while he's in a "placed" position, he sleeps in his crate overnight (8-9 hours), and he walks on a shorter leash without pulling ahead like he used to do. We can also put Nugget in a "placed" position when people or dogs are around and he has learned to be calm and release any anxiety that used to cause him to lash out. He's had amazing progress so far and with the tools that Emily has instilled in us, Nugget will definitely be able to continue down a positive path to becoming a well-behaved doggo!

I have over 25…read moreyears of experience hiring petsitters and was fortunate to have the same sitter for 12 of those years, so I'm very familiar with what consistent, reliable care looks like. The good: I was impressed with owner Susan's responsiveness during my initial call. She was friendly, helpful, and walked me through the process. Our meet‑and‑greet was scheduled a couple of weeks out, and the sitter we met was friendly and someone I felt comfortable with. Where things fell short: During our first three‑night trip, I was surprised to see a different person in our home for almost every visit -- four sitters total, only one of whom we had met. This was never communicated to us, and the rotating sitters did not seem familiar with our home or our dogs. Additionally, the time between the evening and morning visits was consistently 12-13 hours, which is longer than we were comfortable with (and documented in their portal notes). Our second and third bookings were short and uneventful, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, our most recent experience was not positive. Our dogs were not walked for the first two days because the assigned sitter reported they were "too sick" to walk them. I'm unsure why someone unable to perform basic duties was sent to our home. When I contacted Susan, she did not recognize my name, address, or dogs, despite having personally cared for them on a previous visit. She did step in to take over the remaining visits, which I appreciated. However, on Sunday -- the day before our return -- she called to say there had been an accident in the house and that it was "messy." She preferred to leave it to "solidify" because it would be easier to clean later. I strongly disagreed and directed her to the cleaning supplies. She was argumentative but said she would return to clean it. We arrived home the next day around 2 p.m. to find feces throughout the house, clearly from the prior morning. It was crusted, smelled like a kennel, and had been tracked everywhere by the dogs. This was despite three additional visits after the accident occurred. Since returning home, I have attempted multiple times to reconnect with Susan to discuss what happened. Communication has been minimal, and the responses I have received have been excuses rather than accountability. Bottom line: This is marketed as a premium service, but our experience did not reflect that. Between the lack of communication, rotating sitters, long gaps between visits, and the unacceptable handling of the most recent incident, the service has not been worth the cost, the stress, or the cleanup afterward. I hope this feedback helps others make an informed decision.

He never did -- which says everything you need to know about how this place is run and how little they truly care about the dogs in their care. On May 10th, I dropped off my 4-month-old golden retriever puppy, Doug, for daycare. Around 4 PM, I got a call from a staff member named Anna saying Doug had been injured while playing and was bleeding. She said I "may want to take him to the vet" but left it up to me. Naturally, I was shocked and immediately asked, "Is he okay? What happened?" They said his gum was punctured while playing with another puppy. Okay -- accidents happen. But here's the kicker: this happened at NOON. They waited FOUR HOURS to tell me my puppy was injured and bleeding. That is completely unacceptable and irresponsible. I asked why there was such a delay in notifying me. Anna -- who had just gotten into work -- apologized and said her manager was present when it happened but chose not to contact me. Let me be clear: I am trusting you with the care of my young puppy, and when he gets hurt and bleeds, you don't even have the decency to call me immediately? I was livid. Not only was this dangerous for Doug, but it also put me in a horrible situation because my regular vet closes at 2 PM on Saturdays. Instead of having the option of taking him to our trusted vet, I was left with the much more expensive and time consuming (who wants to make their nervous pup wait hours at a vet?) option of an emergency vet -- all because they didn't pick up the phone. I told them I'd be right there (I live 5 minutes away), and as soon as the manager found out I was coming, she left. No accountability whatsoever. Anna was amazing -- the only bright spot in this disaster. She was sincerely apologetic and even admitted they've had ongoing management issues. She told me the owner, Nick, would call me on Monday and even offered to cover vet bills if I took Doug to their preferred vet. That call never came. The next day, I got a call from Sienna (I believe that's her name), who apologized for not calling sooner and for leaving before I arrived. She claimed the delay was due to her "reviewing the footage" -- which is a terrible excuse. I made it clear I didn't care how it happened, just that someone should have told me IMMEDIATELY. She agreed she had no excuse but still managed to shift blame by saying Doug was playing more roughly than the other dog. He's a puppy. They play rough. That's expected. Don't try to blame a puppy for your negligence. Again -- this isn't about the injury. Accidents happen. I completely understand that. What I don't understand -- and won't accept -- is the complete lack of urgency, transparency, and responsibility. I spent the weekend flushing Doug's mouth, cleaning up blood, and watching him like a hawk because you failed to do your job. Luckily, Doug is okay -- his regular vet advised us to monitor him closely, as antibiotics are not ideal for such a young puppy. But the real issue? Not only did Nick, the owner, never call me -- even after being told I was expecting it -- but I haven't heard anything from him to this day. I did get an email from another staff member asking how Doug was doing, and I responded that he was better but never heard back. No accountability. No follow-up. No professionalism. It's heartbreaking because Doug loved daycare. He had so much fun and would get excited every time we pulled into the parking lot. But thanks to this experience, we can no longer trust anyone else with his care. You've completely ruined that for us. And you've also lost what would've been regular business -- we had planned to use your grooming services and board Doug for an upcoming trip. Not anymore. To top it all off, if you watch the live cameras, you'll notice that most of the time, the staff is just sitting around chatting -- not watching the dogs like they should be. Extremely disappointed, furious, and heartbroken. Do NOT bring your dog here if you expect them to be well cared for. Because if something goes wrong, you may never even find out -- until it's too late.
